Ugh, you ladies are so lucky - I still have 4 months and 1 week exactly!!! It feels like its never gonna get here and yet - its coming at me so fast lol.

Toy said it best - were getting close (even though im not as close) so theres many things to do that just so happen to pop up. Is everyone keeping up??

Right now Im focusing on my church engagement. On the 21st we are getting announced at his church (as in we get called up to go in front of everyone and us being officially engaged and then people just say a short prayer for us and were all done) and then the 27th were having the church engagement party at my house (pastors frm both sides and WP, parents, and few close relatives - no kids) and then on the 28th- announcement at my church! Im acutally a little nervous because its like one of the first official things were doing as an engaged couple but its an excited nervousness - dont know how to explain that :) but its a fun little tradition that were happy to be a part of!

After that things are just gonna be put in fast forward - apt searching, job searching for me, etc etc. I had to tell my work today that Ill be leaving - circumstances forced me to do it this early and it was really sad :( I love my job and they love me! Im gonna miss all my regular clients :(

Hey guys, wow, 64 more days....Is it getting serious or what.

Toy I got my broom at a dollar store during Christmas, my friend who is doing all the deco fixed it up but there are some websites where you can buy them.... waaayyy over priced though.

I had a meltdown this past weekend it was my plan to send out all the invites by March 1. But my DIY project blew up in my face. I wasn't even able to print the invites until Monday, I'm still finishing putting them together. I have the lists of invites, but it I went thorugh about 5 of the invites unitl I got the print right now I'm 5 short. UGH. So now my timeline for the invites is about a week behind. Everyone is saying no worries but you know how it is when you want something by a certain date.

I was also supposed to have my seemstress come to my house on Tuesday, but we got the times mixed up she though I said 6pm but I was thinking 7pm. So I have to wait another week to get fitted.

Anyone having any brides maid drama? I gave my girls a year to get their dresses. I told them to have their dresses ordered by Feb. 28, only 3 of the 8 have done it. ugh!!!!!!

So I am really feeling the time get shorter and shorter. On the bright side, I went to the MAC counter and had them do my eyes like how I planned It came out cool, I don't really wear that much make up to begin with so with it on it kinda looked wierd.

Ohh, one more thing, I have a suprise planned for my FH. He loves me with short hair. Bt I've been growing my hair out to beable to put it up in a updo, right. But what I'm gonna do is lead hime to belive that i'm still doing the updo, but walk down the Isle with the short cut he loves!!! Sound good? Shhhhhh keep it secret. LOL>

Well laides hope all is well by looks of the posts things are going well for everyone, I'm excited for those who have already gotten their invites out.

Peace and blessings.

People have started to get our invitations! Everyone says they are really elegant and unique which is exactly what I was going for. My shower is this Sunday so I am excited for that as well! Time really is flying. My BMs all look cute in thier dresses so that makes me happy. FH and I are going to sit down tonight and come up with a plan for tackling all the madness left to do. How are there so many little things to do!!!!

So ladies I need some advice about work. I started my job in late August. We accrue three weeks of PTO a year which means we earn about 2.31 hours of leave a week. Between illness, Jewish holidays and family emergencies I will only have about 4 days of leave. I already decided that I am going to take two weeks leave with out pay. I saved really hard to be able to afford this, even working a part time job on Sundays to help fund it. So finically its not an issue.

Here is the problem: I told my boss ages and ages ago that this was my plan I have mentioned it a few times because I don't want to leave them in a lurch. She said it was fine we would work it out. Well yesterday she asked me if I planed on going on a honeymoon. I said yes and told her all about it but at the same time I was thinking to myself 'yes of course duh remember the two weeks I am taking off'. So obviously she forgot. Fine it happens. Only now it gets sticky. The company has just laid off a few people with rumors of more to come. I am pretty sure my job is safe for now. However, I'm worried that if I take two weeks of unearned vacation that I will lose this security. We already have our honeymoon booked and paid for so there really is no backing out. I do not like my job, at all and am interviewing for others. At the same time I do not want to get laid off.

I guess my question when should I remind my boss about this needed time off? Is it safer to ask sooner rather than later? Or should I wait until I am two weeks away and say something? What would you do?

Sorry I've been gone so long! Work has been crazy. I just got a new job!! My old job was cut so they looked around in the company and found me a new job higher up! It's really busy and really exciting. I promise I'll try to be more diligent.

Have you guys been getting your email updates? It hasn't been emailing me lately. It's weird.

I've missed so much. let's see if I can catch up.

MrsKlein- Your shoes are very cute! I like them :) I'm with TheeBride I'm glad you got them on sale. That's really exciting about your invites. Have you got any RSVP's back?

TheeBride- I can't believe I just realized we are date twins! Crazyness! Have you sent your invites out? Sorry if you did and I missed it, I have lots to catch up on.

Mrssankeyjr- don't worry we all have meltdowns as you have witnessed :) That's really cool about the surprise for your FH.

MrsS- How are you doing? I wish I could reach through the computer and give you a really big hug hugs. You have lots done and lots to do. Oh my goodness. Remember we all love you here!

Starfish- Your invites are out too! Yay! About the job thing, I would talk to your boss. Have an honest talk and ask, if I take this vacation will it put my job at risk. Hopefully she'll be honest and tell you. Hopefully it won't but it would be better to know now then later.

My invites are out too! I have the pictures but unfortunately I have no time to post them. I promise that next time I'm on I'll post pictures. I'm running super late for school. Bye ladies!!

I feel like a kid. Pinch me. This kind of love certainly can't be real. Oh wait, it is :)

Congrats on the promotion! That is wonderful.

starfish, I would say that you should email your boss (to have something in writing if you don't already) saying that you had mentioned before, but weren't sure based on your last converstaion if they had remembered, you would be taking a honeymoon from x to x. Due to some of the illness you had agreed that you would be taking x days unpaid. Say something like with all the changes going on around here I just want to make sure that we are on the same page.

If you have something in writing I don't think they could get away with firing you. I mean maybe...but I don't know.

MrsSan how exciting about the hair :) I think short looks so chic I would totaly do it for mine and not bother with all this growing out crap but I just dont see it working with my wedding so much.

Good for you Brianz! what do you do now?? Thanks for the hug! As you can see from my recent couple posts - Im kinda in need of those lol.

Starfish I'd say tell them ASAP....I think it makes you look like a better employee (not that you seem to care lol) and this way they do have more time to be prepared for it. Emails I think tend to be harder to express what you have to say and put it in the "nice" tone lol but you should defenitely just have a talk with her and Im gonna assume your job has some kind of request off forms possibly?

I just found out that one of my BM's (cousin) and the friend whos been like my lifeline during this whole thing are both going to be gone from halfway through may till a little less than a week before my wedding! As in out of the country back in Europe! The BM that will be here the whole time - well lets just say I told her this week that her and my other girl are responsible for a certain TINY little task. I mean - tiny (wont get into it cause its a russian thing - but the BMs always take care of this). And you wanna know what response I got? "um, no I dont do those but other BM can."............? Ok well Im done putting any effort into that - she will be the only one even HERE during like the most crucial time of the planning and I havent asked her to do ANything yet. Now I know not to hope for it in the future either.

Ahhh why am I having such a bad experience with all this??

Ugh about your bridesmaid going out of town. But you'll be okay.

People already started getting the invites and they like them. Yahooo. My RSVPs are going back to my parents since when we had them printed we didn't know where we would be living. So now comes the coordination between my mom and I. Hopefully it will work well.

Sorry for the long post :o)

BriansAzBride, yaaaay for May 15th, hehe. We're mailing our invitations tomorrow....a week late. Boo! We had a minor incident with our printer, we're going with a DIY kit, but it's working now. As a matter of fact, 50 invitations just finished printing and I'm waiting for the final 35 to finish so I can do the RSVP's. Have you?

Is anyone NOT hand writing their invitations? I know it's "tradition" to do so but, ugh, I just really don't want to, LOL! Is that terrible?

Oh and mmm, we had our tasting today.

Four passed hor'dourves:
sweet and sour chicken kabobs (chicken, pineapple and green bell pepper),
vegetable quesadilla cones (they look like little ice cream cones),
crab balls and
bacon wrapped scallops.

Three options for the main course:
london broil with some kind of red wine mushroom sauce,
salmon (I have no idea what was on this but it was unfreakingbelievable, mmm)
herbed chicken with lemon beurre blanc

seasoned green beans
herbed potatoes
rice (I'm pretty sure there was cheese in it, not sure what kind though)

During the reception, or pre-reception just after the ceremony but right before the reception (whatever it's called, lol) we're also going to have a cheese and veggie tray with different dips, breads and crackers as well as a fountain of punch.

Our cake is lemon with raspberry filling, almond with buttercream and red velvet.

I'm so excited! :o)

That all sounds ssooooo delicious!! the stuff with the red wine mushroom..anything with red wine is good by me lol i love the taste - so its interesting to me because if we would do YOUR menu in my area it would cost us a FORTUNE and a half so do you mind me asking how much you're paying per plate? or like - if whatever it is that you're paying is "standard" in your area or where you fall in that scale? It sounds yummy though :) Is anyone having a non - alcoholic reception? do you forsee people having problems with this or maybe not getting into things quite as much?

MrsS2010, thank you...it was so delicious and I agree, the red wine/mushroom sauce was definitely amazing but for me, I can't wait to have the salmon again. I can't tell you how good it was, mmm! Well, we know the people at Colony South well so they're actually going a little above and beyond for us and I'm so so soooo thankful. Normally, we'd only get 3 hor'dourves and 2 main course options for what we're paying but we're getting an extra of each which doesn't sound like much but we're really happy about it; $61.00/plate. They're also including gold chargers, the linens, chair covers and sashes (we chose sheer gold sashes and white linens). For the bar, we're going with beer and wine and have a $2000.00 tab to cover it but once that's out it's going to a cash bar. As far as whether or not it's "standard", I guess for what we're getting I'd go with "yes"...for this area. Now, if we went into DC (which isn't far at all) it would definitely be more expensive. The location we chose is convenient for everyone and the hotel has free shuttle service back and forth from the airports...perfection :o)

What type of venue/menu are you looking at?

TheeBride- I'm with MrsS your menu sounds SO good. It's making me hungry just reading it. I think I know what I want for dinner now lol

MrsS- We aren't have any bar. I really don't see the issue. We are have a champagne toast and people will have the option of champagne or sparkling cider. I don't see anyone having an issue with going a few hours with no alcohol.

So what does everyone have left? I feel like so much is done and now I'm just waiting while I play with some little decoration stuff.

Thanks Brianz that gives me some sense of relief :). We are just not drinkers and the families are pretty split but I mean in this case I think we're allowed to say that its OUR wedding and I think it should go by OUR standards!

Thee - were doing our reception in a pavilion and will have 3 entrees which we havent made any final decisions on yet (im getting married in july if you havent caught on yet lol) But probably a fish option, and we have our eye on their chicken marsala which I heard is good but obviously we'll decide once we try lol and maybe pork. They have good selections in each of those (like the way they're made and all - I just dont feel like getting the papers out lol). We're also having a selection of sweets, and a fruit and cheese platter. I think thats about it!

I found a video of a wedding in my pavilion and I reallly love how they dressed it up! So Im gonna share it with you guys and you tell me :) . I am already planning all that to be there but this way I can show my decorating guy a pic of exactly what Id like so I know what to expect better :) (ignore the panels behind them in the ceremony part because I wont be having those and instead I will have birchwood tree branches with lights in them set up behind our head table.)

do you guys have any suggestions??
