There are a lot more news stories in the Boston area press outlets. If you were planning on attending the Boston411 Bridal show this weekend, it was a scam. There is information in the news stories about how to add your name to the list of victims being maintained by the Boston police. While brides were taken for $15 each, the vendors were taken too, anywhere from $199 -- $4000! Both the Boston police and the FBI are currently investigating the scam.

This was on the local news last night. They actually interviewed a photgrapher who had spoken with someone representing the show and he was hesitant but after speaking with her felt reassured and handed over the money. It's actually really, really sad. In this ecomony every dollar is precious. I'm really suprised it took them this long to figure it out...
This info was posted in another thread by another user, but I'm going to copy and paste it here too. I have not personally verified this, but hopefully it is legit and wll get out to people.

Event in Boston this weekend that was a huge scam!! Ughh Anyway, I've
also been following this company that produces a beautiful wedding
magazine for the Cape & Islands (WellWed Magazine) who just so
happens to be holding an event the same weekend called The Cape &
Islands Wedding Affair. Their event is taking place Saturday, March 6th
at The Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster, MA between 3:00PM- 7:00PM. The
reason why I'm telling you this is because they have very generously
offered free tickets to any bride that had purchased tickets to attend
the 411 Bridal Event!! All you need to do show up at the event with
proof (receipt) of a purchased ticket for the 411 event. I've seen
quite a few pictures of the event and it looks beautiful and very well
put together!!! Check out their website for more information on the
event, it's aweddingaffair.com. I hope to see some of you fellow
Wow...that is just awful. I mean, the brides seem to have some form of recompense from another bridal show outfit, but these vendors are out not just their cost but the potential revenue they were counting on.
