DPN (and others!) I know many people with varying disabilities. As for the blind man with the cane, you did good DPN! When offering assistance to the blind you DO lead with the elbow and by saying something at the same time (before is preferred but we didn't want a flat-faced man!) you prevented yourself getting smacked in the face! I'm surprised the woman in the wheelchair didn't want help from whomever posted it. When I offer they usually say yes, the only one who didn't wasn't real sure which brand of something she wanted. (I ended up "pretending" I was also thinking of purchasing and handed one of each to her and asked "which one's better? I've never tried this before..." LOL worked like a charm, she had her dignity and the help!) Of course old people seem to flock to me... I'm always getting asked about stuff at Target while waiting for my meds! LOL It drives DH bonkers!!

I needed to dig up this thread because I have a question.

What is the point of an open toe on a boot? I keep seeing this and I don't get it.

Ha I am guessing just for style purposes.

I like to wear a peep-toe pump. I like the exposed toe and it's more comfortable for me when wearing heels. If I wasn't looking for the practicality of wearing a boot--maybe I would consider a peep toe boot--but that would obviously not be to keep my feet warm.

They do look kind of funny...

The peep-toe boots are a current trend that looks really cute with a lot of different styles. Obviously you don't wear them to stay warm, but for style. They can definitly make a statement!

Well I guess that would work...but I usually think of a boot for cold weather and wouldn't want my toes sticking out if it was cold!

I believe that fetuses develop nipples before the sex is determined, I think that's what I learned, I could be wrong though.

OK I had to laugh because I saw the last post and was like - WTF was that in reference to.... LOL

I also found this - which details it some - The answer is that as embryos men and women have similar tissues and
body parts. If anything the embryo follows a 'female template'. That is
why nipples are present in both sexes. It is the effect of the genes,
the Y chromosome and the hormone testosterone that brings about the
changes and masculinises the embryo. Testosterone promotes the growth
of the penis and testicles. Because nipples are there before this
process begins the nipples stay!

Pharm, I should've quoted...I had a feeling someone was just going to read my post and be like wtf?!

That's what it is...I knew it had something to do w/ they were there before the sex was determined, but couldn't remember all the details, LOL.

So if testosterone does all that, why can't it eliminate nipples?

I've pondered the men having nipples issue before. It's fascinating.

Sorry this may get a bit annoying but I must remove anything I posted that might be "questionable" for my career. I hope you understand!
