I think this is a ridiculous amount of thought and effort to put into something that 90% of your wedding guests won't even see. Frankly, any of the combinations you listed would work just fine. My preference would be to match them - either blue/blue or pink/pink, becuase the idea of doing the dye is already a unique and unexpected touch, the colored shoes are already a unique and unexpected touch, but when you over-do unique and unexpected it ends up looking like a whole heap of crazy.

I think matching would be the best bet UNLESS you had turquoise heels with hot pink toes and alternating hot pink with turquoise crinoline. The only issues with that is you don't want it to end up looking like a circus tent underneath your gown. One color seems more flirty and fun. OR you can make your garter and your heels turquoise with hot pink toes and hot pink crinoline <---I think that's my fave...

If all else fails, play it safe and make them match! Lol :)

Thanks for the advice. I was thinking that sticking with one color would be the best way to go. I just talked to my mom, and she said I should def. stick with one as well. So I just need to decide if my one color will be pink or if it will be blue...ah the "joys" of planning a wedding. But thanks again girly!

I personally don't think that you should dye your petticoat at all since you are wearing colored shoes, I think it will just be overkill. However if its something you really want to do, definitely stick to one color. That is just my opinion though. Good luck in your planning!!

I agree, I personally wouldn't have dyed it, it makes it look cheap!

I don't really think my dress can look cheap bc it is very formal. The pop of color will barely even be seen bc my dress is so huge. I want to be traditional yet fun. I think the pop of color(which will barely even be seen) is just a fun way to show personality. It's not like it's on my dress and highly distracting.

TN it's a beautiful gown, don't let meanspirited people tell you otherwise. Since few will see it, you should dye it whatever color you like. It's a great surprise for you FH when he sees it, and people who know you will love it when they see it at the garter toss.

I'm confused...why do you even need a crinoline? My dress had tons of layers built into it and didn't need any extra 'puffiness'...and so did 95% of dresses that I tried on. Is it really necessary?

About the color, it seems like wasted effort to me. Isn't the point of a crinoline to support, rather than to be seen? So it seems like a wasted expense and effort to dye it...but if it makes you happy for some reason, go for it.

I agree with PPs that two colors seems like overkill. Heck, ONE color seems like overkill to me! If you really want to do it, I'd pick one of the colors and be consistent.

I didn't say that your dress looked cheap, sorry for the misunderstanding. I just personally think the crinoline looks cheap dyed like that. But you're right, no one will see it, so what you do under your dress is up to you. If you insist on having the coloured crinoline, then i would match your shoes to that - i think it would look more put together if you see what i mean.

Ebby: Please explain to me how anyone who responded to this thread was "meanspirited?" We all simply stated our opinions, which is what the OP asked us to do. We also gave alternate suggestions if she didn't agree with our opinions.

Gladly ;) You are right, we are all entitled to our opinions, but there was one person, who on not just this thread, but also another thread, whose opinion seemed harsh at times. Granted, it could be taken in any way or context, but it sometimes came across mean-spirited, which is what I am referring to. Yes we offer our opinions, but the way we do it goes a long way.

Sometimes the old adage of if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all comes to mind with some posts.
