Bella- I'm going to be planning a Janurary 2010 wedding!! I am going to be 20 almost 21 when I get married and FH will be 22.. Anyways I haven't really started planning yet because I haven't got my proposal, but he has the ring so I just have to wait ;) Anyways I don't think its way to early for you to start planning but you have time!! Enjoy you engagement and I personally think its best to get the big things out of the way first, that way you have more time to focus on the details..

Hey Bella - FH and I plan on getting hitched in January - we are aiming for Jan. 2nd. We got engaged right before Thanksgiving. The ring he picked out is a vintage ring - which is the theme of our wedding. I also found a great 50's vintage dress on ebay!

The venue that I want to book for the wedding get's booked a year in advance, so believe me - it's never too early to start planning! The one thing I can't decide on however are my wedding colors! I'll be perusing through Flickr.com and the weddingbee.com to get some ideas. I heart technology and the fact that almost anything can be found online amazes me! Congrats on the engagement and if you are getting married in Houston there are so many great venues to choose from - you shouldn't have a problem.

Happy wedding planning ladies!

I'm excited to find other January brides!! We're getting married on Jan. 16th 2010! I want the colors to be silver, white and eggplant although have done nothing in the way of planning for that! I think i'm going to have the bridesmaids wear long black dresses...

can't wait to read more color and planning ideas!!

Hi all!! So I just set my wedding date today...and it's going to be 01/02/2010. I thought it was so cool that 0102 is 2010 backwards! :) We have been engaged for a year now and we waited because I am in the process of getting my RN degree. I'm finish school in May of '10, but I just can't wait any longer. I originally wanted a spring wedding, but since I just can't wait to marry him, I'm settling for the Winter. I am still going to use my colors of Latte or Truffle (not decided yet on which one), Turquoise and small, I mean very small accents of pink.....because I don't want to make it look too much like a spring wedding. Do you guys think these colors will work for winter? I am also going with a Rustic/Chic wedding. Congratulations to all of you!! :)

Hey Bella and all of the other January 2010 Brides to Be's!!! Yes, I am going to be getting married on January 30, 2010.......we have been engaged for a year now and we were waiting because I will be finishing up my bachelors degree in May of 2010. But, I am so happy because we have started with the process of planning and booking things for the wedding. My colors are going to be Tiffany Blue and Chocolate......and my ceremony and reception site will be located at the same facility over looking Lake Travis in the Hill Country out here in Texas. I am so happy because things are just getting going.....but I see how happy we are and it has nothing to do with planning the wedding. I do have a question for yall.......so yall think that in January it will be too cold to have an out doors wedding???

We come to love not by finding a perfect person,
but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly.

Hi Ladies ~ Also getting married in Jan'10 (the 30th). Am seriously stressing out because the location for the ceremony/reception is for sale. They won't let us book until Sep'09 and and if it sells after that we lose any money we put down. Not too mention it will probably be too late to get another site.

I was thinking of icy blues and whites with a darker, earthy tone yet to be determined, but I haven't really been able to focus on any other details lately because I am so stressed about the site situation. We live in a small town and our options are somewhat limited.

Can anyone recommend a good planning book/guide?

Hi fellow January 2010 brides! I just got engaged, and am already overwhelmed with wedding planning!!! Kamisha, I noticed you are also an Austin bride...wanted to see if you visited other venues before choosing Vintage Villas...we visited it and loved the location and lakeview, but the price was sort of high. It is still in the running for us, but I was curious about which other sites you saw. We are just starting our search!!! Looking forward to sharing more info with everyone! Congrats!

hi again & congratulations to everyone! I just bought a planner at the beginning of the month after doing some research to see what got the best reveiws and I LOVE this one. It's "The Complete Wedding Planner & Organizer (Ring-bound)" by Elizabeth Lluch. It's awesome!! It has sections for every part of the event with folders for each section. It also has a hole-punch attached so you can include your contracts and other important papers right into the binder. The writing seems helpful and the worksheets seem inclusive. You can get it on amazon for like 20 bucks!

Anyway... good luck with planning everyone!!
