Monique Lhuillier - Miranda Dress: Posted: Dec 15, 2008 6:00 PM; So I went to check out the Saks bridal department because everything on the floor is 50% off (they are closing at the end of December - only dresses in stock are on sale sample size 8). I hadn't planned to start dress shopping for another month or two.

I absolutely fell in love with the Monique Lhuillier Miranda dress but have promised my fiance I'm not going to blow our budget on a $4400 dress.

Can anyone recommend something very similar closer to the $1000 price range?

I was lucky that I have a seamstress in the family. My aunt replicated the gown for me and it cost about $1200 to do it. I'd say 75% off is a good deal. Granted that was just the cost of the material, but I know we could have done it cheaper, and the back of my dress called for more lace (upping the price). I would contact a few local seamstresses and see what they say. Good luck!
