Hi Girls!
I'm a July 18th bride. I've gotten a lot done so far, but still feel like there is a lot left to do. We have our church, reception, photographer/videographer, florist, and band booked. I found my dress and it actually came in a few weeks ago. (I'll try to attach pics below) I absolutely love it and can't wait for my first fitting so I can try it on again. I think I found my bridesmaid dresses. I'm going with a cornflower blue color (I think one of you girls mentioned that color too!).

So a lot is done, but I still have a lot of little details to work out: cake, food at reception, ceremony music, dance songs, specific flower ideas, etc.

Hi all! I'm brand new to the forums here.

I'm a July 4th bride. Woo hoo! I got the dress. It is supposed to arrive in February. We just booked a venue yesterday...contract signed and deposit given to the facility.

We are in a LDR. I'm in Florida and he's in Illinois. We're also Catholic, so we have some marriage prep to start. Due to the distance, we won't meet with his priest until New Year's Eve. Luckily the priest allowed us to reserve the church ahead of that first meeting.

Oh, our colors are Cornflower Blue and Yellow. I'm also going to carry Daisies. Part of me feels like I should decorate for Independence Day, but the date chose us (church only available 2 Saturdays this summer and I didn't want to wait until August) so we are going with our original plans.

Hi all! I'm getting married on July 4th 2009! I'm new to the forum thing. I just ordered my invitations and save the dates. I also have the reception hall, caterer, church, my dress, photographer, Limo, DJ, the string quartet, and my wedding website. It's coming up so quickly, I still feel like I have a million things to do! This week I'm ordering the bridesmaids dresses yay! The girls dresses are red, and I'm having them carry a mixture of baby pink flowers. My sister is my maid of honor she'll be in baby pink carrying red flowers. The guys will be in black tux's with silver ties. I'm always working on the centerpieces, which are cakes on pedestals surrounded by 4 beaded candleholders(that's the part I'm working on, the beading!!!). For favors I'm doing sparklers and matchbooks. Any good fourth of July ideas send them my way! Happy planning Ladies!

Hi Girls~

My wedding day is July 18th. I am getting more excited and anxious as time goes by. I do have quite a bit done. I ordered my dress and it's in. I can't wait till my first fitting. It's so pretty, I am so excited. It's all white strapless with crystal beading throughout the bodice and also along the bottom of the dress. The back of it dips down in a scallop with beading around it. The back has beading and goes from the back of the skirt into the train which has a french bussle. I love the back of my dress as much as the front. I'll have to post some pics as soon as I can figure it out :) FH is going to have the white vest with a white tie but there are thin blackish/gray stripes on it. I didn't want anything that blended in so much you couldn't see the tie. This was perfect. You can't see them if you are a couple steps back, but when your up close they give some definition. Has anyone else know what I am talking about? A groom on one of the wedding shows I watch had it one..lol...and it looked great :)

The bridesmaids dresses should be in around March or April. Basically, they are strapless A-line dresses. They are Fuchsia but more of a deep dark pink...perfect for July I thought. The guys will be have black ties and vests. I was thinking of doing a matching pink but decided I wanted it to look more elegant than a matchy matchy prom look. They guys were very thankful...lol.

I have all the big things taken care of: reception, church, photographer, videographer, florist, dj, limos, hotel for guests, honeymoon, sent save the dates. Now we are picking out invitatons. Soon we have our tasting and then toward the end of February we were going to register....I wanted to wait for all the winter clearance to be cleared away for all the new stuff :)

Now I am just focusing on all the smaller things. My list is never ending :)

hi there, i'm getting married this july 18th 2009 too! i just saw your posting today and its actually my first time writing here. I told my FH i need to vent out because i'm starting to be in a panic mode. Got engaged december 29th and getting married this july so not really that much time to prepare!
Btw, that's really a nice dress. I'm still looking for one and hoping to purchase before this month ends so that can be out of the way. I do know i have a lot in my plate and is barely getting started.

Hi Brownegirl! I'm not sure what size you are but Maggie Sottero dresses go up to about a size 26 and they are just beautiful and have a range of decent prices. Have a look at her website, I love her dresses!!

Hi browneye! You should look into Alfred Angelo dresses! They aren't expensive and they have plus sizes even in their touch of color dresses which I love since it's not all white! Go to their website and take a peek. Good luck!

Thanks! I actually looked at some Maggie Sottero dresses ( they are so georgeous) and I thought I'd never be able to fit one. I'm actually a size 18 to 20 in my regualr clothes so that range is actually pretty good.

I am also going to look at the Alfred Angelo collection. My mom would love it if I got an Alfred Angelo dress because she got married in an Alfred Angelo.

Thanks for all the advice.

Hope your planning is going well. :)

Hi everyone! My wedding is July 11th and I am so excited that today we officially reached the 5 month mark! My fiance and I are long distance also, like a couple of other ladies. I live in Sothern Cal., he lives in MD. We met online over 6 years ago, and timing just finally started getting right a year ago, when we got engaged. But because of finances, decided it would be best if we waited it out til the wedding to move in together. Plus, I'm finishing up my master's here in May, so it's all good!

Anyway, I'm starting to get into the smaller details of planning, like invitations, programs (to have them or not?), placecards/seating arrangments, song choices, etc. We also haven't gotten the cake or honeymoon plans, but it looks like my parents might be able to let us use some of their timeshare days, so that's gonna help us out a lot!

What are your guys ideas about the seating arrangments and programs though? I really need some help, are they necessary you think? Or just another headache?
