Good morning all! I am weighing in this morning at 170.5. That is 2.5 pounds down from last week(I don't know how!!) and down 15 total. This is the first time I have hit 170.5  and I don't think I want to go back up. So to the gym I must go! Not tonight because I have a work event, but tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday! I hope everyone else did good this week too!

fms- YYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!! I'm so happy for your loss and I'm glad you're using it at motivation- keep up the good work and as soon as I get down south, I'll let you know ;)

And with all the progress we're making Muffin, we're all gonna look super slammin in our bikinis on the beach in Hawaii! =D

Tanis, it's so great that the workouts are improving your health in more ways that one!  I keep telling FH that he should come to the track with me in hopes that the won't need to take blood pressure meds (he's only 25) if he just loses a little weight... But that's a whole nother battle.  But really, I'm glad that you are seeing improvements and not just in size but in quality of life too!

Sun, I'm glad that you're getting back to normal and the showering things sounds interesting... I think I might have to try that!

As for me, I skipped my workout class this morning. =(  I woke up at 2 am because of a visit from aunt flo... I was in so much pain and felt so out of energy that not only did I miss my class, but I was late to work too.  They say that ab workouts really help with cramping and stuff so I'm definitely going to be doing that today but as for cardio or anything that takes a lot of energy... well, today, I'm just not up for it.  Now I just have to remind myself that it's just one day and that doesn't take away from all my hard work and effort up to this point...

I hope you ladies have a great healthy day!

Hi Guys!

FMS- Congratulations on your big loss!!!  That must be such a boost after how you were feeling this weekend..obviously something was working!  I am so happy to see your perseverance paying off.  Also, thanks for the kind words, and I am always interested in any suggestions for "things to do when you can't workout", because although I am back at it, I have to ease into it...I have a recurring injury due to a surgery years ago, in my right glute/hamstring, so I am always looking for ways to pump up my activity without aggravating it.  Also, I recommend pulling up two of these brower windows and reading peoples comments while you are then responding to them in the other window, scrolling down on both as you need to...I think it will save you a lot of time and writing!  55 minutes is crazy you poor thing!! But we love you for your help and dedication :)

Ashley- feel better sweetie.  Those days are the worst.  If you often get bad cramps the first day, I strongly recommend taking evening primrose oil as a supplement.  I take 1000 mg a day, and ever since I began doing it consistently, my first-day horrible cramps went away.  I had to take it consistently for a month though before I saw the results the next cycle.  It's worth it!  Also, it is a natural substance, so it isn't dangerous and/or a drug. I hope you feel better and DEFINITELY do not get down on yourself for taking one day off! You need that anyway, especially now.

As for me girls, this is an awkwardly scheduled day, because I have two doc appointments back to back and then a meeting for work and then dinner with a friend, and it's all lumped together, so the best time for going to the gym would have been this a.m., but after I got FH off to work I wound up having long catch up sessions with both my mom and my best friend on the phone, and before you know it I had missed my gym window so now I am just getting some other things done before all my appts and hoping to be able to hit the gym this evening, even if it means after a dinner out.  We will see.

Keep up the good work everyone!  I think starting next week I will begin weighing in on Wednesday with everyone else. Last week I did Monday, this week I am skipping due to what happened Saturday, and next week I may as well get on a schedule with everyone....besides, weighing in on a Monday is like asking for trouble after the weekend! ;)

The cramps are definitely uncomfortable, even painful, but what's worse is that I usually feel a little... depressed, I guess.  Which pretty much only really happens the first few days of my period.  And... as if the morning wasn't uncomfortable enough, as I was driving down my street heading to work, I hit a squirrel.  Ok, so shouldn't be a big deal, there are a lot of them and it was running across the street but I literally stopped the car and called FH bawling because I had just killed something (hence the reason I was late to work...). This is just one of those days where I'm waiting for tomorrow.  Even trivial things or non-existent things bum me out (crying for no reason?)... Tomorrow, tomorrow, you're only one fricken loooooong day aaaaaaaaaawayyyyyyyyyy...

I so understand about the squirrel!!! I saw someone in front of me hit a gopher and I missed it and when I looked in my rearview mirror I saw it trying to get back to the side of the road and I absolutely LOST IT and I wasn't even the one who hit it!!

When is the best time to weigh yourself?  Morning? Evening? I weighed last night and came in at 170 even which is down 2lbs from a couple of days ago, so i don't think that's right...I think the timing is throwing it off.  I know I should weigh myself the same time of day on whatever days I do weigh, tho.

I didn't eat well today 'cause my aunt flo is coming tonight and for the few days leading up to her visit I want to eat everything in site, but I didn't, I kept my head on straight...except for today.  I just didn't feel like being good...I have either a) two pinched nerves in my neck/shoulders, or b) two slipped discs causing the pinched nerves.  We don't know which because my lovely medical insurance denied my doctors request for an MRI, so now I'm waiting to make an appt. with a spine specialist, which is why I'm not really doing any exercise, and just trying to eat healthy for now.

I'm grumpy, so I'm going to bed.  Good night ladies...have a great day tomorrow!

Kens, I weigh in same day and time every week to try to be as accurate as possible.  Also, by doing that I know when to expect a gain (the week of my period is never a pleasant number) and when I should expect to lose (obviously depending on my eating and exercising though).  And I hear ya on wanting to eat everything in sight... Yesterday I ate all my points (weight watchers gives you a number of points you can have and foods all have point values) and I ate all mine up by 5 pm yesterday and I usually don't even eat them all!  Today is going to be the same story... But, just remember that it's good to be mindful of what you're eating and if it's healthy or not, but don't deprive yourself of things you want either.  That makes "diets" unbearable and usually that desire doesn't go away easily so you try to fill it with other things when you should've just gone for what you wanted in the first place.

Hopefully I just made sense... I had coffee a bit ago and my fingers are moving faster than ever and I don't know how well my brain is catching up to them, lol

I should NOT drink coffee, it just doesn't work for me.  =)

Sounds like everyone is doing great.  I am at 151.5 lbs.  Down a bit, but I think most of it is in my boobs.  I wore this shirt to work today that has been tight ever since I purchased it, but today it was loose on the chest and arms.  My pants were also falling down all day which is not good since I can't wear a belt with them.  I've worked out three days in a row, and have so not been hungry so I've been eating a bowl of cereal for dinner, speaking of which...

Good job ladies!  Keep it up!

Now I know they say when women are very close they have their cycle that same. Now can it be like that too via the internet? I am waiting for Aunt Flo to grace me with her presence which should be at approximately 9 am tomorrow(Seriously!). That is about half of us on a pretty darn close cycle. At least we aren't bitchy!

Ashley- I have actually read that working out(including cardio) will alleviate cramps.Have you tried swimming? That might be good. Also ***close your eyes if your a good girl*** clitoral stimulation is also supposed to do wonders. I haven't ever attempted this because I don't know if I could go there, but I am sure if you have a vibe it would work amazingly. Surprised But its not that big of a deal that you skipped one workout. You have been working your ass off and deserve a break! PS I haven't had hot chocolate in FOREVER and now I can't stop thinking about it! I would have felt bad about the squierrel too. I once had a dog run into the side of my car(luckily he was ok) but I panicked and thought it was ll my fault. Squierrels like to play suicide with cars. No one can help it when we accidentally hit them.

Sunshine- I am attempting the new method you told me to try! So far so good! Missing a workout to catch up with your mom and best friend is a good excuse! You need that for your health almost as much as you need to exercise. Oh and I definitely agree with you on weighing in on mondays! It is asking for trouble especially with all the holidays coming up. We owe it to our selves to have a few days to "balance" or weekend out.

Kens- I always weigh myself in the morning after I go to the bathroom with nothing on. Supposedly that is supposed to be the best time to weigh yourself. Sometimes I will check at night before bed with nothing on because I read in Fitness that you should be about the same when you go to bed. I usually never am unless I didn't drink a lot of water and barely ate.

Ruby- That is awesome that you clothes are getting baggy, but not awesome that you cant wear a belt with your pants. Can you use a safety pin to hold them up at all? Maybe make them a bit smaller?

Well I went to this Halloween mixer for work tonight. I ate about 4 mini snickers and 6 starbursts. I was so hungry when I got there and then  all the food that was at my end of the table had meat in it. I almost ate the chicken, but then didn't. I had a few chips with spinach dip on it. But now my stomach hurts from all the crap. Oh well. On a good note though, I saw a few people that I haven't seen in a long time and they all said that I look like I have lost a lot of weight. So that was exciting. I would have thought that them saying that would have encouraged me to not eat the cra, but it didn't. Oh well. At least I didn't drink any alcohol! I would proabably feel worse if I had. Ok I am off to bed. My plan is to go to the gym after work tomorrow. I am hoping I actually go! I don't have anything else to do so there is no excuse. Have a great night!

Hey Girls!

Oh yes...the monthly visit.  Mine should be coming any day now too :)  You guys have got to try the Evening Primrose Oil.  I am serious.  I use a brand that is vegan (meaning they don't use gelatin in the casing of the liquid caps), really good quality, mine was kind of expensive but I think it is worth it to be able to depend on the quality. The brand I buy is called VegLife, it is cold-pressed and hexane free, both what you want to look for when buying an oil supplement, and if you are into not eating animal products, it is vegan as well.  I telling you, I started taking this because of how bad my cramps were on day 1 of my cycle ever since I went off the pill a year ago.  It got to the point where I would have to crawl into bed.  Anyway, it took about a full month of taking the evening primrose oil (I take 1000 mg once day, that's two tablets generally) to see the difference, but it my last cycle I had virtually no cramping.  This will be my second cycle since then, and I expect the same. Also, the GLA (gamma linolenic acid) in the Evening Primrose Oil has other health benefits, including the fact that in studies it was shown to help women lose excess weight.  Oh NOW you're gonna try it !  ;)

Ashley and Kens- hang in there girls.  I strongly recommend you to try the above.  Also, Ashley, for cramps, try a hot water bottle.  Old school, yes, but it works.  And FMS is right....some "vibes" would DEFINITELY help!  (I remember learning in school that in France mothers encourage their daughters to masturbate to relieve menstrual cramps and discomfort, but we are too stuffy as a culture for our moms to ever tell us that!!!)

As for FMS and Ruby, congrats on the losses and on people noticing!  That is always the best feeling.  People have been telling me, but it is all people close to me, so it isn't quite the same, but then again they know my body better so maybe they are more in tune with the changes. Anyway, I skipped weigh in this week, as you know, so I went with the "skinny pants" measurement, like I used to, and things are lookin' good!  The first pair of old "comfy" jeans I put on to work in today were so loose that I couldn't even wear them around the house without hikin' them up ever second, so that is a victory!

I also did manage to get to the gym yesterday after all; I squeezed it in between my last work client and dinner with a friend...I only got 35 minutes of actual workout time in the gym itself, but added in with the several miles a day I walk to get to and from work and to meet my friend and then home etc all the while lugging a bunch of heavy bags around (I literally walk everywhere), I think it was pretty good!

Yeserday, when at the gym, I had a "hey now" moment when I saw myself in the dressing room mirror....you know, when you're like "hey now, I look good!" and in gym clothes... that made me as happy as any loss on the scale.

Tomorrow after work, FH and I head out for the weekend to visit my parents, sister and brother-in-law, and baby nephew in my hometown which is 3 hours away.  We will spend the whole weekend there doing lovely fall-time things (they live in the country, we live in the city).  I am really ready for a bit of a break from the city, and also, since I am on antibiotics still, I can't drink till next Wednesday, so staying in the city and partying for Halloween with everyone getting bombed wouldn't be that much fun for me.  Instead, I am going to have a really healthy low key weekend and spend some good time with my sweet little nephew and sweet grown up fiance :)  I think we will probably go for a hike at some point.

Well I really had better get to work!  FH is working from home today too, such a treat!  I am going to hit the gym (and the steam room!) later today for sure.  Happy eating well and exercising everyone!!!

P.S. I just also wanted to mention how much motivation and support I feel from you girls when I come on here, it is really pushing me along.  So thanks :)

OH YEAH..not to give you the hard sell or anything, but another benefit of the evening primrose oil that I forgot to mention is that it helps to balance out hormone levels, and therefore mood swings, depression, all that "crazy-lady" stuff.  That's why it is so commonly given to menopausal women to help with hot flashes, moodiness, etc.  It is seriously great stuff.  If you are interested, here is a link to buy it online and it is on sale for WAY less than I paid (I paid the retail price they list): http://www.myvitanet.com/evproil90501.html  Anyway there it is if you want to try it!  It is a 30 day supply but I take two caps a day rather than 3, so it lasts me longer.  I would definitely start with 2 and see how it goes...2 a day is likely all you will need, but you can always go to 3.  Hope this info helps!!!

Hello all!  I weighed in this morning at 168.2lbs!  WOO HOO!!!  Don't know how on earth that happened, but I'll take it...still think it's some sort of mistake, tho.  The only thing I've done is change how I eat for the most part.  I know, that's a big thing to change, but I just wish I felt more like exercising more.  More? I guess I should say at all...shoulders and neck just bother me too much right now.  Oh well....

As for the cramps, yes exercise and orgasms both help with them.  But I may have to try the Evening Primrose Oil too, because my mood swings are off the hook!  I'm sure my poor FH will appreciate that!

See ya later girls...have a great day!

I'm glad that everyone else is doing so well.  Today I not only ate pizza for lunch (my boss bought), but I skipped the gym in favor of cleaning up and decorating for my Halloween party.  I'm going to have to make it up this weekend either Saturday or Sunday.  Alright ladies, keep up the good work, I'm off to bed~!

Sunshine I think you need to go on a commercial or something for this stuff! I get the same way! If I find something I love I can't stop spreading the word! Everyone always tells me I should work for this company or that one because I get so passionate about the product. I luckily don't get cramps so i wont be trying this miracle pill or supplement. But maybe when I come off of birth control and get cramps again I will give it a try!

Kens good work on that loss! Don't go getting crazy with your scale and doing it everyday! You will drive yourself nuts!

I did pretty good today. My only slip up was I ate some candy. Hey it is Halloween!!! I usually eat a crap load, but I haven't been too bad this year.... So far. =) Oh and I didn't go to the gym because I didn't.  Have a great night! Tongue out
