Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue...

Just curious...

What are you ladies that are doing this old tradition planning on wearing?

I have my something new - the dress, jewelry, hair pieces, shoes

My something borrowed - the crinolin slip to go under my dress is borrowed from my MoH that she had for her wedding last fall

My something blue is these cute little blue panties that say Bride on the butt.

But I'm stumped on what to do for the something old.

Any suggestions?

Something old - my father's cross

Something new - my dress

Something borrowed - not sure yet

Something blue - originally I was going to actually wear a blue dress, but now I'm going to be wearing ivory...so I'm not sure about this one yet either. Ah well I have some time. HOWEVER - I did just get my lucky sixpence which since I'm not going to be wearing shoes (beach wedding) my sister is making me a anklet pouch which I can slip the sixpence into. I'm of Irish heritage and so it was very important to me that it be an irish sixpence, which since the change to the euro they don't make anymore. However I was able to find one (from 1928 which happens to be the year that my grandparents immigrated so that was excite

Something old- well it isn't very old really but it is a silver ring with a pink stone of my Nana's. She passed away recently or it would be my something borrowed.

I've heard that for something old, you could sew a piece of your mother's or grandmother's wedding gown to the inside of your gown.

This sounds pretty special to me so I'm planning to look into do this.

As for the others:

Something new -- my dress, jewelry, shoes, etc.

Something borrowed -- not sure yet, planning to talk to BM's to get thoughts and/or suggestions

Something blue -- my garter, and/or I saw a really nice airbrush design for my nails.

I have:

Old - My grandmothers diamond cocktail ring

Borrowed - the slip for my dress (it's from the bridal shop so I'm hoping to come across something more original)

Blue - Garter, and a piece of blue flanel from one of my fathers shirts sewed into my dress.  Since he passed I thought this would be my way of including him.

New - my dress, shoes and earrings.

And my MIL bought me a sixpence for my shoe!

Something old: a pin from by MOH, that no one know that I was carrying.  It was between her & I.  The pin was my grandmothers that I gave to my MOH after my grandmother died.

New:  My wedding gown, tiara, shoes, etc.

Borrowed:  A pinky ring from my childhood friend, again no one know that I had this.

Blue:  My underwaire, and garter.

Something Old: A pearl pin that my grandmother wore almost everyday attached to the inside hem of my dress and an beautiful old handkerchief that belonged to my other grandmother will be in my bouquet carrying hand.  Also, diamonds from my grandmother's ring that I inherited (given to her by my grandfather on their 50th wedding anniversary) are being incorporated into my custom wedding band.

Something New: Gown, veil, headpiece, shoes, etc.

Something Borrowed: A piece of lace from my mother's wedding gown that I will be pinning into the inside hem of my gown and I might wear a pair of my mom's diamond earrings (same earrings that my father gave to her when I was born).

Something Blue: My pedicure and there's dark blue in FH's family tartan (which I have as ribbon on my bouquet).
