Cinderella items

I am planning a Cinderella themed wedding and having alot of trouble finding items that are afordable. Think of the story and the characters and let me know if any one wants to sell or know of where to find them. I  have been on the internet all over the place and found some things-- would love the step sisters and step mom, the mice, the blue birds, etc. Help! KSBMEB

I don't know when the wedding is, but at the end of the fall, you should be able to find some pumpkin stuff cheap.  I'm having a fall wedding and bought all my decorations at the end of last fall, all for 50-75% off.  Try checking some of the dollar stores.... I'm sure they have some princess stuff.

Can you be a little more specific?  When you say you want the stepsisters and the stepmom I'm not really sure what you mean.  More info would help a lot!

Just a warning, though- be VERY careful about how you do this.  Years ago my parents went to a wedding that had a Cinderella theme and it came off looking more like a (bad) 5 year old's birthday party than a wedding.  I'm talking Cinderella castle centerpieces made out of- I kid you not- cardboard, pipe cleaners, and cotton balls.  I'm not saying that someone couldn't make something nice out of those things but trust me that these were NOT nice.

With a theme as strong as this less may be more.  "Cinderella blue" could be one of your colors, your dress could be inspired by Cinderella's ballgown, you could do your first dance to "So This Is Love", your cake could be decorated in edible glitter dust (like the Fairy Godmother's magic dust).  Stuff like this!

I am sorry that the other "cinderella' themed wedding turned out more tacky than classy.  I hope that the couple enjoyed it though!  I am planning on the more Cinderella ballroom approach with dripping candles, white orchids, ice pink organza overlays and lots of crystals.  But I was going to incorporate the characters involved in the story of cinderella as a way to highlight the love story in a fun way.  Maybe put them all around the cake table or something.  I have been looking for all the different characters: The evil step mother, the two step sisters (anastasia and..I cannot recall the others name at the moment), The mice such as Gus Gus etc....just all the characters invovled in the story.

I have looked on e-bay and many other sites to find "Lenox" quality without the cost. We'll see.  Thanks for any help. KSBMEB

Is there a Disney Store in your area?  I have seen some of those items there.

You could find action figures on ebay or something and put together a little scene on your cake. Maybe splurge a little on the dancing Cinderella and Prince figurine as a cake topper, then get little action figures of the rest to set up on the tiers to look jealous.

I had a Little Mermaid wedding, this was my cake.

Royal Doulton and Harmony Kingdom also sell really nice figurines at prices cheaper than the lenox ones.

Royal Doulton:

This is $100 but it's the step family (both sisters and mother):

Check not only Royal Doulton's site, but ebay and Google Image search to compare prices.

Check out the Harmony Kingdom website. Their stuff is cute and seems to be quality.

Here is Jaq for $15:

Suzy Mouse for $30:

Lucifer for $30:

Cinderella's pink dress:

This is kind of cute! It's lenox. It's the glass slipper on a pillow. It's a salt and pepper shaker set. But it's really cute. Only $35.

I know that all of this stuff really adds up, but after your wedding, you could turn around and sell it. Maybe keep your favorite piece. Or ask family to buy the pieces as your shower or wedding gift if you'd like to keep them.

This is lenox. It's expensive but you get 5 characters. May not be at all what you're looking for though:

Yesterday is History. Tomorrow is a Mystery. Today is a gift, that's why it's called the Present.

If you go to a good baker they should be able to custom make the characters out of gumpaste or fondant. (both edible) There are also websites where you can get it done like this (although I have a feeling that a local bakers would be cheaper, plus you can see the quality of the actual product before being stuck with it)
