Again, thank you all...its nice to get compliments from strangers, because I know for a fact, my mother wouldn't be truely honest with me, because I am her daughter...and the pics would be beautiful no matter how they looked...
Craszebride...we really lucked out with ours, we had a previous co-worker do them...she may be 19 I think? But with that kind of talent, I can see her being "famous" in this area, in just a few years. She gave us an amazing price of $140 and did over 5 hours of shooting. We had over 575 pics to choose from and we chose 75ish. It was sooo hard...she did an amazing job on all of them..The prices that were stated, are probably a little lower, because she has now become a professional photographer, and has registered her business, so they may be a slightly higher. She also knew us, so she may have spent a few more hours with us, then with another couple, of whom she has no friendship with. Even so, you get her, and a CD of the best pictures (after she "plays" with them) for well under $200! AMAZING!
She made my mom cry...that is what I was looking for!
I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but they almost don't even look like photographs at all. They look much more like works of art! Personally, I adore the picture of the two of you on the beach. It's almost fairytale like!
Also, thanks for posting these and reminding all of us that you still can have engagement pics taken even if you've been engaged for a while :)
At first I thought you were quoting USD, now I see that you are also Canadian! Our wedding photographer wanted to charge us $300 for engagement pictures. (It would make sense to have him do it, right?) But with a 6 month engagement, we were so busy planning the wedding, we didn't spend anytime thinking about getting expensive engagement pics. Now, having seen yours, I am rethinking that options (with only 2 months to go!!)
Craszebride- I really liked getting them done, and I think its a nice way to announce our engagement, and when we send out Save The Dates, the pics will also be included so that people that haven't met one of us will at least see a pic of us together....but I guess with you, it would be different...a 6 month engagement- too short to do any of that!?!?!?! I am in Southwestern Ontario...You?
So gorgeous! In the Hawaiian language we call half white, half asian children Hapa Haole (pronounced hoppa howlie)....and your children are going to be such adorable hapas!!!! Congrats! We're taking our engagement pictures soon and I hope they come out as well as yours.
hoshimosh- that is sooooo cute! I am going to try to remember it and nickname our little babies that.....as long as its not a degrading thing! I am sure your engagement photos will be awesome...just have fun and be yourselves! That is all we did and our photographer just shot away!
