I'm an easy going Yankee marrying a Southern gentleman. =)
We met at orientation in college -- it was love at first sight. I suppose opposites do attract as he was the budding young programmer, and I was the only communications major to be found. His quite, thoughtful demeanor won me over just as well as my loud, brazen behavior must've won him because two weeks later I'd dumped my high school sweet-heart for him and he was driving two hours to see me. He worked his magic in those first 8 hours because I have never looked back!
Three years later we moved in together. Within a few months of living together, we decided to get engaged on Sept. 27, 2008. True to our relationship, it was a joint decision. (Hey, I got to pick out my ring!) Now we're embroiled in the beginning of wedding planning and learning together how to make even more expensive decisions than what couch to buy!
I'm planning a fall wedding as fall is my favorite time of the year. (Plus, I believe in the FH can remember 10-10, haha!)
We will have it locally at our church, and tent the outside, with a casual "enchanted picnic" theme.
For colors, we're planning to have ivory, chocolate, and royal purple with orange accents. This might appall your sense at first, but imagine the bride in ivory gossamer chiffon, with the bridesmaids in deep purple chiffon. The groom and groomsmen are in chocolate striped suits with ivory/sand colored vests and ties. All of the flowers are variations of orange and white, like tiger lilies and daisies.
