Fremont is cool to visit for an evening to see the light show thing and see the old casinos. But it never occurred to me that people actually stayed in those hotels. I always recommend anyone who's going to LV to visit Fremont Street. Also the times I've been downtown the people who hang around Fremont aren't the "nicest" looking people.
The best bet for a hotel is one centrally located on the strip. Caesars, Venetian, Bellagio, Mirage , TI. Howevver if you stay on one of the ends, Mandalay Bay or Circus Circus, you can take a cab to the other end and walk back. It doesn't take long to walk the entire strip from top to bottom. And the cab ride is cheap...or you can take the bus thing.
Ok now i am REALLY in the mood for another Vegas Vacation!! :)
