What to tip a wedding DJ

I recently had a discussion about "what to tip a DJ." I was pretty sure that it was like a barber, you tip if you REALLY like the service.

Here is a blog with some research on what seems to be acceptable:

What are your thoughts? What have you seen?

Please, please read the forum rules about posting links to your personal blog. That is a no-no that could get you in trouble.

It is not ethical for a DJ to expect or accept tips at a wedding reception. Any good DJ will have a contract in place and that is sufficient for his day of work for your event. If you request that the DJ stay past the contracted time, then of course you need to pay him/her extra for the service.
