Going out on the town with girlfriends

I am a recently engaged woman, and I have noticed a disturbing trend that began recently when I go out with my girlfriends. If anything, more men attempt to hit on me now that I am engaged and wearing a ring then when I was single. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it easier to abstain from wearing it just so I don't receive this extra unwanted attention? How do others deal with this situation?
