Dress Length

I am 5'2" and my fiancee is 6'2". I have found a pair of wedding shoes I love and they add on an extra 4 1/2 ". Now I'm also more of a kick off my shoes and dance kinda girl.
Should I get my dress altered to fit my shoe height and just hike my dress for the reception or cut it a little shorter to give myself more dancing room?
Please help!

Dear DD,

Personally, I'm a Foot Comfort sort of person.

You may be the type who can walk in high heels and not fear spraining an ankle. I am not. My feet hurt just to look at someone in high heels.

A happy medium would be to get some lower-heeled shoes that are comfortable for dancing, then wear those to the ceremony and the reception. Your dress would be the perfect length for both parts of the event.

I have worked in bridal for over 3 years and the last thing you want to do is wear a dress all night that is too long!!

You are sort of stuck in a dilemma....

If you stay with your high high heals and get a long dress alnight you will be holding your dress up or stepping on it, which will ultimately cause your dress to get dirty, warn or possibly even ripped off! :( Also, I am not sure how picky you will be about your pictures, but if your dress is to long, you run the risk of looking like your dress doesnt fit properly.

I feel personally that your best bet is to invest in a pair of shoes you can wear all night and be happy with.... who cares how tall or how short anyone is.. its your day and you should look beautiful!!

CONGRATS!!!

Another idea ....

I don't want my dress to be too long ever.
I don't think any shoes will last me all day.
I don't want to go barefoot at a formal event.

So two pairs of shoes ... one high and one low.

Get flats for the ceremony. Nobody will see your shoes.
Wear the high heals that you love for dancing and people will see your great shoes while you boogy. And you will have a little room between the bottom of your dress and where other people are trying to step on your hem (ah I meant trying to dance).

If you must toss the high heals you can then go back to the flats or go barefoot and your dress will again be picture perfect length and nobody sees your barefeet or flats or flipflops under there.
