Mhmm! September 18, 2011. I know, it seems a lifetime away. 760 days to be exact.

And yes, I have everything planned. Colors, dress, location, flowers... everything. :)

Just wanted to join this thread! We got engaged earlier this month and have decided on 10/1/11 wedding date! I have always loved fall and am so doing a total fall theme! We are waiting becasue i finally agreed to move to colorado with my fiance next summer for a year to see if we like it so our wedding will be once that year is over! Even if we decide to stay there i still want my wedding to be home in NY because it is just that...my home! I am actually going to see a wedding venue tonight and another on thursday. I want to get all of my vendors set before we leave next summer and also a lot of places are already filling up for 2011 so its not too early for us all to start! I have so many ideas and feel weird because my FSIL is getting married June 2010 and hasn't shopped for her dress yet but i want to shop for mine haha! Glad to know you are all here and we are in the same boat!

My colors are chocolate brown and then i haven't completely set the others but i know there will be orange but the one venue gives champagne linens so i though brown and champagne dresses would look amazing on my bridesmaids! We are going to use potted mums as our centerpieces and little pumpkins carved out with a votive inside! I also thought it would be cute to give little pumpkins as favors but to have them all arranged and tie the name cards to the stems for everyone! Just a few of my ideas! Can't wait to hear everyone else's!

I'm planning my wedding for 2011, probably in the fall, and at first I had thought that it wouldn't seem like that long. Now it seems like forever till my wedding and to enjoy married life! I'm trying to take it slow with the planning and I know I'm driving FH nuts with my constant colour changes but I'm learning a lot on the way. Since he is keeping me to a tight budget I'm finding loads of interesting DIY projects. I've yet to find a venue that I love but what do you think is more important, a place that may be more expensive but "pretty" or saving some money and going with a normal banquet hall? As much as I don't want to get married at a country club, it is looking like it would be much easier. I've even considered just eloping in Las Vegas on my trip in Nov. just to get married already lol. I don't know how some of the other brides managed to keep their sanity waiting three or four years! I can't wait to see how everyone else creates the wedding of their dreams.

FH and I are planning on an October 2011 wedding. I think he'd prefer an earlier date, but I'm finishing graduate school in May and then will be looking for a job and thought it would be too overwhelming to plan a wedding through all of that. I'm hoping to keep the guest count around 75, so it will be pretty intimate, and I'd like it to be pretty informal.

In response to your question about venues, MKemp, I like the idea of booking someplace at the high end of your price range. In my opinion, a place that is in a very nice setting and maybe has some decorative touches already won't need much sprucing up (unless you want to). However, if you feel that you can make some high-impact decorations at a low cost, then a banquet hall might be the way to go. Maybe visit some places and see how it goes :)

Congrats!

Welcome to the Fall 2011 thread.

I hope you're having fun planning for your big day. I know I am. It's a good thing I have just over 2 years to plan. When you know what you want - you just have to have it.

I've chosen the colors, wedding planner (even though my fiance probably thinks I don't need one). Put a deposit on the wedding dress (love it!) I've got a list of reception sites - four more to see, floral arrangements (oranges, reds, and yellows) and I came across a table setting that is just gorgeous.

It's going to be a challenge since I have a daughter in college (tuition ouch!!!). So it probably was a blessing that we pushed the date back a year, because I don't know how we would've pulled it off for next year (the guest sure would be much smaller). It will probably be around 200 - 250 guests. I'd been on my fiance about drafting up his guest list. So he finally finished it, and I asked him how many people he has on the list. The man told me 227! I damn near fell out the chair. Needless to say he has cut down his list drastically.

He knows what he's in for during the planning process and he already has his assignments. He did ask me to promise him that I would not turn into a "Bridezilla". Hopefully I won't. Good luck to you all. Most of all have fun - I know I am.

hi ladies! i am actually getting married October 2010, but i had over a 2 year engagement, so i can relate to you guys! ha ha

dawj-I saw that you want to do chocolate brown and then possibly champagne? that is AWESOME!!!! those are my colors!! I am having the guys in chocolate brown tuxes, and then want to have the girls in champagne dresses! possibly with a brown sash, but it depends on what i find. :)

My dress has a champagne sash on it, so it will all tie in really nicely.

i love the idea of potted mums and mini pumpkins too! we are going to use the mini pumpkins as escort cards! we are going to tie the escort cards to the pumpkin stems, and then that way people can take home the pumpkin, but they can also place them on the table while they eat, and it will also serve as table decor!

Hello ladies! We have been back and forth about having a small wedding in late summer/autumn 2010 or a bigger wedding in late 2011/early 2012 and we finally decided to go with the bigger wedding in 2011/2012. I was thinking about going with 12-23-11 but now I'm thinking that it might be too close to xmas. I'll have to give it some more thought.

I don't have colors or anything picked out yet. I'm just trying to get the date and an alternate date picked out.

I've defected to August 2011 instead of Dec. 2011. I'm hoping for 8/19/11 which is 650 days away!!

Alright ladies, I am not fall but summer of 2011, 7/7/11...to be exact...I am getting married in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands on Magens Bay beach...it is a dream come true for me...it is just going to be a intimate wedding with me and my FH...so romantic...I got engaged on May 3, 2010....We have a story book and very rare relationship. He is my best friend I share everything with this man...I love him so much. The colors are tangerine orange and diamond white....My dress is already picked and purchased. I just recently left it for alterations.....my veil has been custom made, and venue deposit is already paid and we are working with a travel agent for honeymoon and flight details...I have a wedding consultant handling everything...on yesterday I met with a makeup consultant to help me start practicing on doing my makeup for my portraits and ceremony....How much have you ladies done...I took care of everything early so I can focus on our house. We are purchasing a house, he is moving here from another state...so excited.....

Hello,

I'm getting married on October 7, 2011. I love pink so I'm incorporating a pink and brown wedding as my theme. However, I'm still deciding what type of pink...either a soft or a fuschia type of pink...(let me know some of your suggestions)...I'm also using cupcakes for my wedding as well...I'm going to have the traditional first couple of tiers with a traditional wedding cake, then jazz it up with several tiers of cupcakes underneath of it....I'm still pondering of what type of flowers and the color of the flowers that I should use.....My venue and the church is already taken care of...now we're just trying to see who's the best photographer to use for the wedding along with our engagement pictures so we can use the magnet save the date reminders...

So there are 394 days left till I walk down the aisle. I've had my dress since last summer and I go and visit it every so often. As I don't want to get it ruined or FH to see it, the bridal shop is storing it for me. Does anyone else go and visit their dress or do you have it at your place and try it on? I feel as though the planning is painfully slow and yet everything is rushed at the same time. How often are your details changed? I've changed my mind on the bridemaids dresses a million times and I keep refusing the girls to order them as I'm sure I'll once again find something I like better! My FH is on the fence about planning, he wanted to wait till October to start planning so he can enjoy being engaged and get the rest of his work/personal life organized so he will be able to fully assist in planning. HOWEVER every now and then he comes up with an idea and he gets so excited to tell me about his idea and then remembers he can't talk about it and is sad lol. How are your FH's with planning?
