Hi Girls,

I was wondering, has anyone had their gown custom made? Or does anyone know which places are the best for custom made gowns? I found this incredible gown, but it's way over budget, but I'd love to make something almost like it. Sort of join two gowns to make one.

When I was in high school, I had my prom dress custom made by my friend's mother, who was also the costume director for our school's theatre program. It was absolutely beautiful, cost me literally a fraction of what I would have paid for a "real" prom dress, and I still receive compliments on it to this day.

My advice to you? Seek out independent seamstresses in your area, like the woman who helped me.
