Looking for July 2011 Brides

Are you out there?

Our date is July 2, 2011......

Seems super way away....we are having a VERY casual, outdoor ceremony and reception at my FH's parent's place. So those things are done. Music wise...my FH plays in a band, so that is done.

What do I do next?

Mine is July 30th 2011 and we are having the ceremony on the beach and are still deciding on a reception venue. Have you decided on a theme?

Congratulations!

We're July 30th, 2011, too. Still looking for the right place. Starting to get a little nervous we won't find what we like for the date we want.

Things to do... pictures, yet?
Found a dress? Got any idea about the bridal party?

There seems to be way too much to do and it's good to have some idea what you want early. I'm worried about being a stressed bride and I want to only be responsible for looking gorgeous on my wedding day.

I agree!! I tried to save money and have myself and all of my bridesmaids and I do all of the planning...NOT HAPPENING!! I just went and hired a planner and said the same thing, I only want to be responsible for looking good and remembering the dance moves on my wedding day! lol I chose my dress from David's Bridal it's style WG9871 in Ivory and I kid you not, it was the only dress I had to try on. The size 4 fit me perfectly all I need is a slight hem. Everything came together perfectly!! My thing now is hoping and praying that since it's a beach wedding that it doesn't rain!! SC weather is so unpredictable!!

http://www2.davidsbridal.com/dyw/stage.jsp here is an idea of what my bridal party will look like. There will be more girls and guys though, the dresses are not exact but those are the colors. I had to change the bride's dress because my fiance kept trying to peek while I was dressing the party lol Since it's on a beach and I wanted something a little more unique, i'm having my girls and I carry parasols instead of bouquets.

The only thing I have done right now are my dress, found it really randomly while waiting to go to an appointment, and my photographer, a really good friend who is an excellent photographer. I thought about a planner, but the budget just didn't work. But we think we found a venue, a nice historic manor that is a converted hotel and conference center. We'll see. I tend to stumble my way into things and take my time looking at a lot of options until I get that PING feeling. Good luck to you two.

So far the hardest thing for me is the reception venue because we are getting married in Charleston, SC, most of the places are Plantations and I have a very "pro-black" FH so to speak and he refuses to do in on a plantation. But I don't want the hotel ballrooms because they force you to spend thousands of dollars on their catering, and I want a specific menu and so far none of them have what I want. I figured since we are having it on the beach and beach themed, we should have seafood (my favorite!!) but I don't want the fancy stuff i'm talking southern fried catfish and fried shrimp, crab legs etc. lol

July 17 here too! I have my ceremony site/reception hall booked, caterer booked (food not picked out though), rental supplies booked ( sans centerpeices) , Bridesmaids picked and dresses picked out, Ring Bearer picked, Bridal gown almost picked out.

Save the Dates are in the mail.

I was given a book called Bridal Bargains Wedding Planner shortly after we announced our engagement. It's helped a TON! So far I have only needed a little help from my Maid of Honor and Mom on getting things together.

6 months ladies!

Does this terrify anyone else? We are getting married on July 8th, 6 months from tomorrow. My fiance and I have been engaged since May 2009 and have spent the last year and a half planning and saving. The wedding seems to be coming so fast and there is so much to do. Is anyone else feeling the stress?

I feel you! Ours is July 9, and I've hardly done ANYTHING! Though now that the year has changed over, I'm buckling down. We ended up moving our venue to save costs, and I've finally asked my girls to stand with me, and am going from there.

I can tell the ball is about to start rolling swiftly down the hill; I hope I'm ready!

I did start a Facebook page for all "my girls" as we're rather spread out (OH, IA, MN, CO, HI). And as of today, I've had to revamp my "dressing the girls" plan. I was just going to give them a color scheme, but apparently they've all bucked that, and want me to choose! So, now have to browse David's and find some different styles I like, and let them choose from that :)

I'm also posting in the Aug 2011 thread because we don't have our date nailed down yet. Check it out for some of my pics. We will be meeting with our first potential venue on Sunday and we are hoping for July 30 now. I have family that will be traveling in so it will be nice to have it on a long weekend.

It seems to be a bit crazy trying to plan everything in 6 months but we will get er done! Wait until 1 month before then I'm sure I'll be a biiiit more stressed. lol
