What type of veil to go for?

Hello.
I'm 5'4" with 2.5" heels for the day. My dress is strapless, with a trumpet skirt, but a full cathedral train. It has buttons all the way down the back. It's Casablanca 1902. I'm making the veil. I bought a lace trip that looks like a smaller, simpler version of the lace on my dress. I bought enough of it to make a cathedral length veil. It will be circular or ovular (depending on the length I go with) one tier. Basically a mantilla lace veil. I am not going to gather the veil at the comb. It will cover my face and reach my waist in the front, and go down to I'm not sure what length. I've been warned not to go for a full length veil because it'll cover up the detailing on the back (the buttons and lace on the train). Should I just do a circle so that it's waist lenth all the way around? I was thinking fingertip length. If I went any longer than fingertip length, I think I'd have to go full length. So with this information, what length would you all suggest? Thank you in advance!

I think fingertip would be best.
