Passport fees will increse by $35/applicant

Ladies,

You need this news like a hole in the head.

The State Department has published their intention of raising passport application fees by $35. (Federal Register Feb 9)

If this is approved, and chances are about 100% it will be approved, it will cost you an additional $35 or $70 for a couple to get a passport.

Bottom line: If you plan to get a passport in the near future, get it now. Save a few bucks.

We got ours in January. It cost me about $100 to re-new and my fh was about $130 because it was his first time.

I didn't change my name the first year after our wedding, when it would have been free, so had to "rush" it before our Feb. trip, and paid a total of $150. Dumb!! But they did get it back to me in, like, a week.
