Art, I was going to come to your party, but then I heard that you are asking the guests to wear cotton. I can't believe that you would be so insensitive to my phobia of natural fibers!!!!!!! People do not DARE wear cotton around me, and that you would even consider inviting me to a party filled with cotton is just awful. I suppose that you at least had enough consideration to warn me, but there is still no way I'll come.

Dear Art and others,

I would so like to attend the party.

I am, unfortunately, stuck here in Southern California, where it is warm and sunny, on an extended client visit. I have not worn my heavy jacket, not once. It's been in the hotel closet since I arrived last week.

My husband was actually in the hotel outdoor pool jacuzzi today, soaking up some rays. I am not kidding.

It's a dirty job, here, but someone has to do it. I emailed photos from the client's office window to the folks back home. They all hate me.



I wonder if I can go surfing this weekend.

I can't believe you're here in So CA...welcome. It sounds like you're enjoying our awesome, year-round weather. You should have seen us a couple weeks ago when we got the worst rain storms we've seen in a long time....we could hardly function.

Now I'm going to wonder if I'll see you around and never know it was you : )

Oh, I know. I saw the photos in the Los Angeles Times of those poor people in La Cañada Flintridge. A "Niagara Falls" of mud came through their neighborhood. Horrible. The San Diego Freeway was flooded out.

Ladies,

Actually, I am suffering. I am up in the middle of the night, can't sleep, and should be looking at my PowerPoint presentation for tomorrow. Instead, I'm here.

At home I have a long handled wooden spoon that I keep by my desk. Why? Because when my back itches, I put a bunch of lotion on the spoon, then reach over and slather it on my back. It feels wonderful. The long handled spoon is just right for getting lotion all over my upper back.

I did not bring that spoon with me. Darn. My husband is snoring away and I don't want to wake him just to put lotion on my back, and the itching is driving me nuts.
