He is aware you exist? Well thats good. Being aware of one another existence is the first step towards a happy marriage.

Oooh, good call, Mrs.DJ. I'm not sure prisoners are allowed Internet access, but if they are, that would make sense here.

I totally thought the same thing. Because how else can you have a "relationship" with someone online for seven years and not want to meet in person until now... to propose. We're missing a huge piece of the puzzle here.

I'm sorry but I think this weird. Sure he sent you pictures, but are they really pictures of him? You won't know that. I mean it sounds to me like you are in love with what he's created in your head. And really, it's created because you've never met him, don't know if you're sitting talking to some big old fat lady sitting at home eating bon bons and screwing with you for pure entertainment.

Be realistic, marriage is something sacred and a pledge of eternal committment, think long and hard about it before you decide that 30 means you need to marry the next thing that walks through the door.

I'm still stuck on the "he knows I exist" statement.

Only if his sentence is 10 years or less... I don't have that kind of time to wait around any longer than that.

Wow, Woosta. I guess I should've guessed there would be a website like that in existence, but still...wow.

Damn, I'm already married. Missed my chance to hook up with a prisoner.

Where did the OP go? Did we scare her off?

Seriously, OP, whatever the situation is with your guy, prisoner or not, I hope you don't accept a proposal the first time you meet this guy. You really do need to take the time to get to know him on a personal, non-cyber level in order to really know him. Otherwise, at best you're risking your personal happiness and the health of your (possible future) marriage. At worst you're risking your safety. Go into the meeting with your eyes open and take care of yourself--don't stay stuck in your dream world. Too much at stake.
