Cost of dresses

Hi I'd just like to know what people are spending.
I really like the Maggie Sottero gowns. DOes anyone know about how much they cost? I'm going to go try some on in about 3 weeks with future MIL and I don't want to be surprised.

it all depends on your budget. some people spend $100 and some spend $10,000. go with what you love and what you can afford.

I spent $575 + tax on mine which my mom and I were happy with. lol I love watching Say Yes to the Dress though and I end up just shaking my head at how inexpensive my dress was compared to what their CHEAPEST dress is! hehe. Some people would consider what I paid to be expensive and are having their dress made, or bought from ebay or goodwill. Some people will have spent alot more then me. It really very much has to do with you and your budget, what you want, and how you prefer to order things. For instance I couldn't find it in me to order my wedding dress on Ebay simply because I HAD to try things on to see how they would look. I'm glad (for me at least) that I did it that way because it turned out that my preconceptions of what I would like were WAAAAAY off base! But again, that's me and I know of others that did the ebay thing and loved the results.

I bought my dress at David's. Usually, it is $399...but I paid $350 for it (I waited until their 'you know they are going to happen sometime' sale). Once I decided on the dress, it was just a matter of waiting on the sale.

The add ons.
$50 for veil
$10 for beads to make my veil awesome
$70 for shoes -- which I did not wear
$50 bra
$50 slip
$35 tiara

so.... all said and done, approximately $660, including tax, for the whole shebang.

Mine cost 850$, then I got a flower for my hair for 40$.

If I had wanted a veil or tiara, I would have spent less on the dress.

This is in Canadian dollars, by the way. Would be less in the USA

My budget for the dress alone was $1000
I had a Maggie Sottero gown and it ended up being only $750 (including tax)

Satin flowers for my hair were $50
Undergarments $100 (Spanx and a proper bra)

So I came in really well for my budget. =)

Although I don't remember what I paid in alterations, all I know is that they really weren't worth it.

I'm getting a Maggie dress and it cost almost $1700. I got a nice discount on it which brought it down to about $1400. The other dresses I saw from Maggie ranged from like $750 to $1500.

Hi! My dress is Maggie Sottero's Sabelle. It's a huge ballgown and I got it for just under 1400, and then had to pay a bit extra because i needed extra length (I'm 6'2''). My dress came in to the store this past May. The quality is great and the fit is perfect. I love Maggie dresses! I can't wait to wear it this coming June!

I got mine at David's Bridal. I paid with tax about $600. I still need to get my tiara and maybe a small veil.

I tried on alot of Maggie Sottero dresses - none of them were over $1400 and they were absolutely beautiful. I ended up getting a Demetrios dress on sale for $1700 (from $2000). If your budget is a bit less than this, Maggie has many dresses under $1000.

$49 at thrift store! :)

I'm adding lace and getting it altered, and I'm adding swarovski crystals. So...estimate a few hundred bucks in alterations, but still $250 or $300 is a STEAL! :)

I jus recently ordered my dress and paid $1100 and I had it changed to a modified sweetheart instead of straight across. Alterations will cost me at the most $250. I also ordered my veil ($189)and tiara ($120). The veil will be free if I decide to get my bridesmaid dresses there too. No taxes on anything since it was in Jersey. My friend recently got married and spent $4000 which I thought was ridiculous, but if it's the dress you may want to go there. Just be prepared for the wide range of prices you will see. Good luck.

I got my San Patrick dress for $1200. One thing I found was when you find the dress you want, shop around for a price. The stores in my area (and a little beyond) were all selling the dress for different prices ranging from $1200-$1800 and so I went to the store I liked the best and told them about the $1200 price and they honored that. Dress buying can be like buying a car... There's a sticker price, and an actual price. Just gotta be proactive and assertive!

I love Maggie Sottero dreses. The one that i like is aroun 1500. They are expensive but the price is worth. I suggest you to look for the dress that you like, and maybe you can find the same style in other designers.
