Hello All!

Hang in there Sun! Don't get down on yourself!

Great to see some old faces back! Check in more often!

I have not been working out, but I have been eating SUPER healthy! Like way too healthy! A lot of veggies and fruit. No alcohol and very little carbs. I will have time in the next 2 weeks to work out while the school I am at is on break.

Other then that, I had a HUGE break down last night. First, that list has been haunting me. I haven't been able to sleep well since I made it. Then FH is saying we are barely going to have enough money for the wedding. So now I am freaking out about that. We still need to order the cake too and I am terrified of spending the money on a cake! Then last night the manager os the yacht club emailed me saying that votive candles arent allowed and candles are only allowed if they are in a hurricane glass. Our glasses are not hurricane. I emailed him to get apporival on what we have, but haven't heard back. Then one of my BM is having shirts made for the bachelorette party. She called me last night and was getting everything wrong and she was so confused and it just made me more pist. I only got 4 hours of sleep on Tuesday night. FH knew I was stressing. I had asked him to go to the grocery store bc it is his turn. So I get home last night, the house smells wonderful (I am on the phone). So I assumed FH made dinner for us. I get off the phone and realize he made steak for himself (I don't eat steak). I look in the fridge and he bought NOTHING at the grocery store that I would/could eat. He bought all the stuff he likes. When I go, I get things for both of us. So now I have to go back to get the food that I can/will eat. I was so mad! I got in the shower and started bawling my eyes out, then pretty much cried till I fell asleep last night. FH kept saying he is too broke to buy fruits and vegetables that I will eat, but he is not too broke to buy beer, chips, and THREE things of salsa! Uh I am still mad. So I pretty much went to bed last night around 730. He doesn't get it. I am the one trying to get all the crap finished for the wedding. He was trying to console me last night, but it was just pissing me off more. I just can't stand people right now. Anyone ever feel like that? I feel like everyone is pissing me off right now. And I am not even about to start my period!

Oh well... I am just going to go to bed. I am not mad when I sleep.

Hey All!

Well I am doing much better after my little break down last week. I had a great weekend with friends and feel much better about everything. I can get all my stuff done. My mom is going cake tasting this week hopefully for me because I don't have time. And I found a florsit to do my bouquets. We are consulting online because I also don't have time to meet. So this is good. I have my hair and make up trial on Aug 22. Is it normal to have to pay for this? I thought it was/should be free, but I have to pay $50. Oh well... I definitely want the trial! Oh I also got my wedding band today. It is so pretty! It is just a small .50 carat eternity band. We actually got it at Macys! We went to every jewelery store in the mall and none of them had eternity bands, so we went to Macys "just to look" and they had one that matched almost perfectly! And it was 30% off. Always a bonus! As for this week. I am hoping it flies by because I have my bachelorette party this weekend!! We are going to Palm SPrings Friday-Sunday. FH is also have his Bachelor party. I am nervous for his. I really don't want strippers. I made it clear to him and all of his friends, so hopefully they will respect that.

Thats it for now. I asked this on another thread, but am also wanting your guys input. Is it tacky to do an evite for the rehersal dinner? We are on such a tight budget and thought maybe we could do an evite. That way it is easy and quick! Please be honest!

Thanks! Hope everyone is doing great!

Hi again!

Kens- I missed you too! That's great you are able to slow it down at work...it should be a stress reliever and like you said, gives you more time to focus on yourself, your FH and your WEDDING! which, is around the corner! do you have butterflies yet? I'm so jealous of you guys, in a good way. I can't wait to see all the pictures and hear your stories.

Sun- how are you? I know you battle with lots of ups and downs, but girl- in the end, you kick butt. You recognize when you're in a funk and allow yourself a teeny, weeny, bit of down time, but you sure know how to pick yourself up and keep trucking! because what it comes down to is- you're getting MARRIED and man, isn't that something to smile about?

As for me, I'm feeling quite good : ) My nephew is coming home next week from Iraq! Yay!! I'm having a housewarming party on Sunday, which should be a blast and since my nephew should be here by then- it's also a welcome home party for him. My sister and I were not speaking, until yesterday- she called and was really nice to me.....so yea, things are looking up.

Hey ladies! I am still doing my thing.

Ash I have all the same questions as Kens, especially about the wall. My date is already over but I do have another big date coming up - My 40th birthday argh! I have made most of my goals but the pullup is elusive. Well I can do one really ugly one on the machine but it comes along with cursing, grunting, sweating and flailing.

Muffin how was the party?

FMS it is normal to have to pay for the hair and makeup trial. $50 is quite good where I love. The resort we got married at wanted $120 just for hair and they couldn't guarantee the same person would do my hair on the day. Um isn't that why you have a hair trial? we didn't book with them. I think theres nothing wrong with an e-vite for a RD. That is both my professional and personal opinion. I have a suggestion for your cake - have a small wedding cake and then have a sheet cake cut in the back. No one will know that there was a sheet cake. Its a great way to save money.

Sun how are you doing now?

Kens thanks for the support. Life hasn't gotten much easier but I just don't feel like getting into it. I try and take all that frustration to the gym and work it out there. Good for you for getting to that place of healthy thinking. I always say to women who are worried about losing weight before their wedding "Your FH asked you to marry him and not Will you lose X number of pounds and marry me?" I know everyone wants to look beautiful on their wedding day, but lifelong health is far more important, especially since all your FH's already think you are beautiful.

Hello ladies!

Tanis- I went ahead a sent the evite before I even read your response! I am on a time crunch here!! I am also going to do a sheet cake. That was recommended by one of the bakeries I went to!

Well ladies, I am 20 days away from the BIG day! It is crazy how fast the time as gone by. I only have 2 weekends left and then it will be THE weekend. I still have a few things to do. I have just been so busy! My work schedule and social life has been crazy! I had my bachelorette party last weekend. It was pretty good, but a few things went on that I would have rather gone without. And this weekend I went camping with my family. It was a lot of fun. I was hesitant to go because I didn't want to burn and then be peeling, but FH really wanted to go, so I said screw it and went! Next weekend is going to be nuts! On Friday after work I am heading to my parents house so that my mom and I can get up at 5:30 in the morning to drive to San Luis Obispo to get my wedding gown. Then we have to come back to Ventura and hopefully squeeze in a meeting with the baker so I can design my cake. Then at 2:30 I have my hair and make up trial at the salon. I am going to be busy busy that day! Then Sunday I may have to figure out the set up of the room with the yacht club and then meet with the DJ. I think after that I should be done! I do need to order a cake topper still... All of the caucasian ones are blonde or red heads though and I am a brunette! It is so annoying! Oh well.... it is a minor detail. Ok I am off to sleep. I have a crazy week a head of me!

PS Ashley you look amazing!!! Update us stat!

Sun how was the bachelorette party?

HEY LADIES!!

Sorry for my absence, I am now in crunch mode too as the wedding is less than 5 weeks away!! Wow, I agree FMS, time goes FAST! Kens, I am sure you feel me on this too since we have the same date!

Tanis and Kens- sorry to hear that you have both been struggling with stuff going on in your lives, but I am happy to see that you are approaching it healthfully and without getting stuck in a down spiral. Tanis, your workouts always seem to be very uplifting for you, and Kens, your decision to just enjoy your wedding without beating yourself up about losing the weight is DEFINITELY the healthy thing for you right now. It's about how you feel, and it sounds like right now you both need to be focusing on self-care, which you are doing.

Muffin and Ash, great to see you guys! Would love to hear more of what's been going on for you! Ash, you seriously look amazing!

FMS- you sure sound busy, and I totally hear you. It's been super busy for us lately too, and this is the first week that I feel mostly "done". Not done done of course, but we stuffed and sent our invitations week before last, I searched for and found our table cards last week (and bought them), and found and purchased the remainder of the groomsmen ties. I have already had hair and makeup trials. Basically what is left at this point is picking specific wines for the bar (we are going with Long Island and French wines to reflect our story!), assembling the favors (but I have already ordered and received all the parts so now it's just packaging each favor which will be easy), and writing out the names and tables on each escort card which my mom is going to do. Seating chart will be a big thing but we can't do that until all the RSVP's come in, which will be another 2 weeks probably.

Anyway, as far as how things are going, well...it's been up and down in terms of weight loss stuff. I don't know if you guys saw because not many people were posting around that time, but I posted that I met my long term goal in the middle of July (YAY!!). My long term goal was to lose 30 pounds before the wedding and ideally before the 1st gown fitting, and as of July 16th I had lost 31 pounds. I had my first gown fitting 2 days later and then my bridal shower weekend and then stuff got kind of crazy for a while. Well, due to emotional stuff and the stress of wanting to maintain that loss until the wedding, it has been a bit of a struggle. Last time I weighed in I was still down in that neighborhood, but that was a few weeks ago, and this week I have my 2nd fitting and am sadly feeling bloated and mad at myself for not making more careful food choices over the weekend. Sigh oh well, all I can do is do the best I can between now and the fitting and hopefully it fits well and isn't super tight! All I want is to maintain that goal weight until the wedding, and I know that I can, I just have let other stuff get in the way lately and reverted back to some bad habits. Well, anyway, I am really proud of myself for achieving my goal in the first place and I am sure it will be fine. I wish I could reschedule this week's gown fitting but I really can't, because this weekend is my bachelorette weekend and I DON'T want to have to do it right after that and be worrying about every little thing I eat and drink all weekend, and then the following week is only two weeks before the wedding which I think is cutting it too close especially if they have to make more adjustments. So all I can do is do the best I can before Thursday and then enjoy my bachelorette weekend!! (to answer you FMS, it hasn't happened yet but I think it's going to be great!)

So that's it girls....I could def use some support on not stressing too much about this fitting coming up. I am not worried about maintaining up until the wedding because that's still weeks away, I just wish I hadn't made trouble for myself right before my 2nd fitting. ARGH!

But everything else is going great, I don't feel stressed about the wedding itself at all and things with FH have been so marvelous....they always are but we are especially on a high right now with the wedding so close!

I look forward to hearing ore of what's been going on with you girls!

Sun- my wedding is 13 days BEFORE yours!!!! I only have 17 days to go! But I am actually remaining pretty dang calm! I still have a good chunk of things to do, but this weekend will be very successful. Now onto your upcoming fitting.... If you are going to stress about your weight so much you are not going to enjoy the moment as much. You have 30 days until you are married. Just enjoy the time and try to be healthy. Don't let your life revolve around it. And really a few pounds are not going to alter the way your dress fits dramatically. Don't stress girl. Plus everyone claims you lose weight in the last month before the wedding without even trying! That is what I am banking on!

Well I have no clue what my last post said. I am not sleeping too much these days because my mind is going a million miles an hour. I finally got FH ring today. It was such a nightmare!!! I had purchased a ring about a month ago and they said I could exchange it for a different size if it didn't fit. Well it was too small, so FH and I went back and they said they needed to order it and that it would take one week. Well one week later, I hadn't heard from them, so I went in to the store. They said it wasn't ready yet and they would call. I didn't get a call. So I went back in a few days later and they said they had to special order it and we would get it in FIVE weeks! I flipped out and said I was getting married August 22 and would sue the shit out of them for everything I could get if I didn't get my ring before then. Well I must have scared them because they rushed the ring and it came in this afternoon. Thank goodness! This weekend I am getting my dress. I am nervous and excited. What if it is not perfect? What if she didnt make the corset big enough like I wanted? It is nerve racking! I am also worried about the hair and make up trial. I want to look perfect and I am very untrusting of others when it comes to my make up. I don't really wear a lot and I am very particular about my eye lashes. I like them to be as long as possible and most people can't get them right. I know it is probably weird of me to be so particular, but I am! Oh well.... I will just have to hope for the best!

Holy crap.... 17 days until I am married! This time next month Sun you will be getting married and I will already be back from my honeymoon!!!! It is nuts!

FMS I'm sure your dress will be fine. I just had my second dress fitting Wed. and I'm not happy with it. My corset turned out perfect, but the cleavage I wanted isn't there. NOT that I want to look tarty, but the cleavage I want comes from having the breasts lifted, not pushed together. It makes me look "poochy" and it spills over the top. Not good, not good at all. I'm going back on Mon. to see if lacing it differently will help, if not, then I'll have to buy a strapless/backless bra to wear and see if that helps. Here's to hoping. I'm glad to hear you got FH's ring okay. That's why I made mine go with me three months ago! They had to special order his, too, but it came in in less than two weeks. Does his match yours? Did he pick it out? My rings are white gold, but his is yellow. Anyone else have different rings like that?

Sun, FMS is right. Don't worry about the weight, you know stressing can cause you to gain weight!! So don't do it! It's going to be fine. A couple of pounds will not make a difference in the dress. You need to let this go for now, and enjoy this time. It won't come again, and when you look back on it, do you want to remember stressing over a few measley pounds, or remember how wonderful it felt to be getting married? Remember the big picture, hon.

My bridal shower is next Sat!! I can hardly wait! But I'm not getting RSVPs for the wedding back like I need to. Making me mad. And none of my girls seem to be planning a bachelorette party for me....makes me sad. Oh well.

We are sooo close ladies!! Holy crap!

Hello Ladies,

I was reading into this and loved how all of you ladies seemed to connect. So i would love to be involved with that.

Well about me...

I am 21, My FI and I are planning on getting married April 2, 2011. Its amazing how far my wedding date is but i know its gonna go very fast. But its a great thing that my wedding date it so far. Awww Kens! I was supposed to start on my wedding day also, but luckily I am on the pill and I caught it in time so I threw out a weeks worth of pills and skipped my last period. However, I feel like I may be hating myself next week! I will probably be over emotional and freaking out! But at least I will be period free for the wedding! You should talk to a doctor, maybe you can get a shot or something to stop it. If it is a big deal to you. I hope your day got better!

Aw thanks Kens! Its actually the anniversary of our second wedding, the family wedding that we celebrate on the 23rd. Our legal wedding was on September 7 of the year before so we are coming up on our second Anniversary. I can't believe it. It's been such a whirlwind that I feel like I have been in a time warp. I am also approaching my 40th birthday in 5 days, which is just shocking to me. lol

Bummer about the timing. I am on the shot so I don't have a cycle, which is just fine by me.

Welcome Smith 2011. The thread has been quieter lately as a lot of the ladies are coming up on their wedding dates. This thread is great but there is also the "Overweight but Inspired" thread that has been going for 3 years now, which is jprobably the longest a thread has lastest. Most of the ladies there are married already and have more time for posting. We also have our own Biggest Loser Online.

So ladies I talk a lot of talk and now its time to walk the walk. I really don't like to have my photo taken, but I have been working out really hard and am ready to post some after (or at least "during" photos. I have a few areas I really want more progress in, but considering what happened when I met my husband, I am pretty happy with the way I have reigned it in.

It did get better. We solved the issue of spillage in the front, which caused me to have back cleavage to an extent, but I'm just gonna play with the lacing until I find a happy medium. I started my period today, so that's probably part of the reason I'm sooo upset. I have a prescription for the pill, I'm gonna start it tomorrow and skip the "off" week and that should do it. I hope. Otherwise, I may just have to shoot myself. All of this planning to have a dress I'm no longer crazy about, and be on my period at the same time???? Oh so not good. I don't understand how all these other ladies have strapless, corset back dresses, and aren't having the same problems I'm having!!! I've just been on another thread that's for plus sized girls, and I didn't see a one with the same problems! We put cups in my dress, which helped, but now I have to lace the dress tighter to get it all to stay up, which causes the back spillage. When I went there today, we tried lacing it up differently and that worked okay....no front spillage, no back spillage, but also no true cleavage. We tacked the cups in, so then there was no front spillage and it looked AWESOME, but then I saw the back spillage/cleavage, and almost started to cry again. By that point, I didn't care. I just wanted out of the dress. She said with larger busted women, there was going to be some spillage somewhere with an open corset back because you have to lace it tighter than you would if you are wearing a bra, but I can't wear a bra because I had her make it an open back! Damned if I do, damned if I don't! Seriously, someone shoot me now.
