Beach Wedding Dress Help!!
Posted: Jul 1, 2009 2:05 AM

So my fiancee and I are planning to have a beach wedding June 5, 2010...We plan to have the ceremony on the beach and than the reception at a ballroom...What type of dress would be best for my wedding day? Some people tell me I need to go with something simple since its going to be outside and stuff but my dream dress is nothing simple...These are some examples of what I want

I might be considering one of these but I don't know if it would be too much for a beach wedding...I am really liking the 3rd one.

PLease help me out and give me some feedback

I actually like first dress! :) It's simple, but still dressy enough for a ballroom reception. You can always add pretty accessories and a really pretty head piece, like real flowers or something. I wish FH and I could have a beach wedding, but since we're catholic, our church doesn't perform ceremonies outside of the church. Anyway...like I said I really like the first one! :)

Dear Liza,

I had an outdoor wedding, as well. We were not at the beach but in a grassy back yard.

I specifically did not want a dress that would drag along the ground and get dirty along the hem. I wanted my dress to stay clean and white throughout the whole evening. The dresses you included in your message all look like they'd have the dirty hem problem.

You can get an fussy, elaborate dress that comes to mid-calf or just above the ankles.

I love the third one, but I like the first! However, have you tried any of these dresses on yet? I think that will probably be the determing factor! You should feel awesome in it! I wouldn't worry too much about your dress getting the hem dirty, I doubt anyone will be looking at your feet after the ceremony! You only use the dress one day!

Dear Lady E,

" I doubt anyone will be looking at your feet after the ceremony! "

They look at the entire package. Why else do brides take care to get pedicures before W-day? I did not want to start my receptions with an already-dirty dress. Thus, I got a dress with a hem that came to just above my ankles.
