I have heard that the cleanse isnt great because once you start eating normally the lbs pack on quickly. I started using Alli when i got engaged and that works pretty well. I have been using it a month and lost about 5lbs and i know some people who have taken it and lost 27 in just 2 months....another thing that all depends on your body I guess.

as for staying in shape P90X its also expensive to start but the results are worth every penny. You work out 1 hour per day (depending on the routine you choose) and there is a meal planner complete with recipies that are great! You should check it out!!

Thanks a lot. I have seen the P90X and it looks great.. It does not take much for me to lose weight.
I just have to keep it off ; )
I love to eat when i was in my twenties I was 105 up until i turned 28 and then started gaining weight I never go over 129 but at 4"11 that is alot of weight for my body..

Thank you , I will try alli and start eating better. I am running each day so I will see how that works out . Congratulations on your upcoming wedding.. ; )

LittleTiffany,

Run for the hills away from any of those gimmicks...the only thing that they will make thinner is your wallet!

Eating healthy and exercising IS the way to go :) You don't even have to join a gym (though if you do, I recommend doing some group classes...helps keep you motivated!), and it's a good idea to mix up the type of exercise you do to prevent boredom.

I will be the first to say that they are expensive and i thought they were gimicks too but they are not. I actually use them and the actually work. which is the only reason that i would even bring them up especially to another bride. When I got engaged thats all i could think about was looking fab in my gown. I am 5'2'' and i had been 105lbs forever. At 22 I am 120....and its a struggle to get back down. thats why Im doing the p90x...it hurts...and its a commitment but im getting more and more fit every day, and i know i can stay this way. Your welcome though, and congrats to you!

according to an articel on <a href="http://www.verytogether.com>verytogether you can loose 2 pounds a week just by rethinking your drinks.

i pretty much just drink water so I haven't been able to test it, but it seems like a pretty revolutionary idea for an easy way to loose weight without changing your diet very much.

check it out. it's called rethink your drink.

best of luck!

Oops,

To be clear, I was talking about supplements and cleanses being mostly "hooey"...the P90X (or whatever) thing sounds like a diet and exercise plan...that's not what I was referring to!

Sorry about the confusion

I've just recently started using AdvoCare products so I haven't had any time to really testify of personal victory in this area, but I have a really good friend who has used AdvoCare's Slim and other various products for 5 months now. She started in January and in 3 months lost 30 pounds. She looks GREAT! She doesn't need to lose any more weight, but she can and still does take the product to help maintain her healthy weight, the product is that safe. Many of the other products out there say you have to need to lose 20 pounds or more to use the product, but not in this case. I read many other stories of people who have lost much more weight with it. They also have a 10-day herbal cleanse if that's what you're looking for. I am really excited about it, maybe you might like to look into it. You can find the products here: www.advocare.com/09052479

I am not a fan of supplements. The best way is to do it the old fashion way with exercise and eating right. You don't have much too lose but you do need to start out by planning a good workout routine.

If you can do it the old fashioned way, then great! But the supplements I'm talking about aren't fake. They're natural! And face it, we don't get the vitamins and minerals we need daily. AdvoCare gives you that. And that's why it works. It's backed by top names across the country* that will put their reputations on the line to prove the fact that it's safe, it's natural, it's healthy. It's vitamins and minerals at the purest form and they work for weight loss, for energy, for just natural health. You work out, Rehydrate is actually better for you than water because it helps your body absorb the water and replaces electrolytes after you have sweated profusely. You may be a doubter now, but try the products for yourself! Mike Wade, the VP of Sales, was skeptical about it himself when he first attended a meeting about it 13 years ago. He heard the stories and was still skeptical until he tried it for himself. Kerri Roberson took it the first day and decided from then on out that even if she never lost a pound, she would keep taking it just to feel as good as she did that day, but she lost weight. She went from a size 18 to a size 4, lost 75 lbs. She's kept it off for over 8 1/2 years. Yes it may be a supplement, but face it, you're not going to get those vitamins and minerals naturally. By the time you get your food from the grocer or farm, and cooked, even those that are raw have lost valuable nutrients that you will get with AdvoCare's products. It's working for me! It can work for you, too.

I really don't think there is a point to taking supplements or weight loss pills or cleansing products, that you have to take continually to see results. I think it's pointless. And water is the best thing to hydrate your body.

Simply stopping taking the products is not what's going to cause you to gain weight. If you maintain your healthy eating regimen and keep up a regular workout routine, you will be able to keep the weight off without having to keep taking Slim. However, if you do not keep the healthy eating patterns and fall off the workout routine, then you will gain weight. It's just like if you finally managed to lose it all by the old fashioned way of eating right and working out (which I guarantee will take you a lot longer to lose the inches and weight than it will when taking Slim), if you lost the weight and said, oh, I'm done, now I can eat all I want to and quit working out, you're going to gain it back. But you don't have to take it if you really don't want to, I'm just giving you the option. It's healthy, it's proven to work, it's life changing. As I said, one lady took it and on the first day she was determined to take it for the rest of her life simply because of the fact that she FELT better. She wasn't sure she was going to lose weight with it until she actually did. So who knows, you may decide you like how good you feel taking it that you may decide to keep on with it even after you've lost the weight.

I actually need to chime in here. Supplements are very different from diet pills.

Diet pills focus on taking stuff out of your body, literally stripping it "clean". (Quotations because I obviously don't feel that is right)

However, Supplements are just what they say they are: supplements to your diet. How many of us even healthy eaters are low on some mineral or vitamin? I just read the other day that as much as 95% of Americans are low on Omega-3's. Why? Because the American diet doesn't include a lot of fish. Lowered Omega-3's can result in mood disorders, unclear thinking, and loads of other smaller health problems. Knowing this makes me wonder how many of the people in my own life who have emotional or learning problems would benefit from just a simple supplemental tablet.

I don't eat much meat. Maybe once a day, not even that some days. So I make protein shakes in my blender upon occasion so that I will still have food for my muscles.

And while I think Trinite is just here to pawn her Advocare business, I do take those products and they are definitely healthy and nutritious. I studied dietetics for a year in college and I have enough knowledge to know a scary supplement or product when I see one.

By the way, I see one. Alli is not good for you AT ALL and it is going to seriously mess up your metabolism. (To the poster who wrote about it). Once you stop taking it, even if you continue to eat well and exercise you're probably still going to put on weight because you will have screwed your metabolism.
