Kelleys Weekly Results Post:

Weight: 210 -- THREE pound loss!!!! Yahooooo!!!! Went to the gym bright and early this morning and did my swimming, and then weighed myself on their scale and it was 3pounds down. Me happy about that.

Points: 25 I think this is the first time EVER that I gave myself/earned the full 25 points. Not just in BL10, but EVER. I could be wrong, but I dont often , if ever, get the 25points. Im pretty hardon myself when it comes to the points and feel I score myself more than fairly and I definately deserve it this week. Wahooooo.

Go to Gym minimum of 5x per week , focusing on 60-90min workout consisting of cardio, swimming aerobics, and workouts with Gil. -10points

Yes,yes, and yes. AND I even signed up for 16 future sessions of more torture. 10points.

*** Eat some sort of breakfast each morning, and prepare for long days at work with healthy ziploc baggie snacks and fruit. -7points

Yup. Did it everyday, and last night after my comedy show I had to walk to and from the comedy club 20blocks each way, and I was NOT tempted by the many fastfodo joints I passed on that walk like I usually am. Why? Because I ate a good dinner of lean turkey and salad before I left. 7 points.

*** Cut out ALL fast food and only drink soda no more than once per week as a treat. -3pts

No fast food again this week, and my one can of diet coke was yumsville. 3points.

*** Stop eating after 8pm. -3points

Made a conscious choice to do this. this is the hardest one to keep of all my points.

TANIS's ADDED 2 POINTS: No saturated fat.

YUP. It wasnt easy, but I tried the unfried chicken recipe you gave me Malibu because I figured DH would eat that, which he did,and I also made a big batch of my very healthy Minestrone no fat soup that has tons of veggies in it like spinach, zucchini, carrots, celery, etc. So ate that a lot of the week and tons of salads.

So I guess your challenge stays the same this week too, unless I think of something better by tomorrow morning. How come Im not seeing any Alcohol Journals or texts from you? You mean to tell me youre not drinking at all?? Beyond the measly calorie limit I mean. I dont buy it lol. Cmon beeyotch, drinkup!!! Celebrate howwell you are doing with those measurements. have a drink...or five.

today Its more grading for me, watching the Yankee game with hubby right now, and just releaxing after my students AWESOME comedy show last night. they kicked ASS...

I'll be posting my points and weight tomorrow--just got back from the urgent care center--apparently the fever of 102+ and the super sore throat and swollen lymph nodes in my neck is likely tonsilitis caused by the strep bacteria. (In other words--I have strep throat doc??) Glad to pay you $25 for that diagnosis! He gave me antibiotics but no heavy pain killers (what an ass! The pain's a 9 out of 10! Worse than my knee surgery!) and sent me on my way. So I bought a heating pad at CVS (their brand) let me save you the trouble some day---DON'T buy it!!! I've gone through TWO today 'cause there's a short in the cord the second I plug it in and I'm anal about fire hazzards! So DH is FINALLY off to Target to hopefully get me a good one so I can sleep some, haven't slept good in DAYS!

Sorry to disappoint Cupcake. I had two malibu and waters last night then cut myself off because I didn't want to lose the point. I am having a party next week so you will get a call. its a celebration for someone who had lapband surgery so the food will be healthy - shish kabobs, shrimp stuffed cherry tomatoes, grilled peppers, low fat spinach dip. But I will be enjoying cocktails.

Care sorry you are feeling so bad. I hope you get your heating pad.

I'm here, sort of...

Weight:148.5 - 3.5 pounds lost Woo Hoo! Not sure how I did that, but I'll take it. And that Jelly Bean, is why I use the Force.

Points - 21, Lost all my points (3) for staying in my points (big shock there), and 1 points for not eating after 7pm. So, not so good

Yes, I completed your challenge jelly Bean, though I almost forgot to do my last set of bicycles today, really didn't want to do them when I rememebered either. lol

Goals will be the same for this week with the exception of the exercise goal. My gym is closed for the holiday tomorrow, so I can't get in for my M-W-F. I will keep the 20 min 5x's this week, but I'm going to have to wing it when it comes to getting to the gym.

It's been the busiest weekend. We decided to go pick up the motorcycle on Friday since yesterday was supposed to be crappy weather. Spent a good part of the day on that. DH wanted to take the "back roads" since he's never rode a bike that big before. We both agreed that it would have been better to take the freeway. The traffic through the north end of Toronto was horrible! Stop lights every 100ft, and the people! It's the middle of the day, where the hell is everyone going?

Yesterday we spent a lot of the day cleaning the bikes, and drinking. Yah, I don't remember say, from 3pm on? That's a first, and apparently I didn't like it. So today, while I fortunately don't get traditional hangovers, my stomach was a little upset for most of the morning.

Today was pretty much another writeoff. Did some groceries, and ran back and forth to the hardware store a few times. We pick something up, come home fix one thing, find something else isn't working, repeat...

Now to go back and read what I missed

Got my points, and took walks for my challenge relaxing item. thanks care!

but I didn't lose a pound even but I maintained. Although, not gaining is good since we were out of town this weekend! got another chicken recipe to try, and did my cardio/weight training but I think I'm developing muscle rather than losing. I may increase the cardio portion to compensate since I don't feel like I'm going to die after that part of my sessions anymore. Did my journaling like usual. And, ate within my calories. I don't think I'm going to decrease them, though, cause they are already really low.

So, 25/25.

Care, not sure what the challenge will be this week. I'll post something tomorrow.

There's so much activity in here, I need to stop by way more often! Looks like you all had a good week.

On the subject of endorphins, I LOVE that feeling! When I was injured, I was SO excited to get back to exercising that I had endorphins for like two weeks straight. I've experienced the runner's high a few times too... its rare for me. I need to have the right combination of things on a workout. Though I did get close just this afternoon. I had a better run than I've had in awhile.

Well last week started pretty boring for me, but the end was super busy. I haven't done much of anything today, but its a welcome change from the last few days. I got some type of workout in every day but one this week. And I managed to run 10 miles this week. My new running goal for right now is to run 8 to 12 miles per week. That seems so pathetic to me. I used to run 6 to 8 miles at a time and 20 or more each week! Several of my friends ran big races today... I wish I had a half marathon to run. The one I would have trained for if I hadn't gotten hurt is next weekend. But I'm just doing what my body lets me do right now. There's no point in being upset about it. I'm hoping to sign up for a prenatal water exercise class if I ever get an unemployment check again.

Unfortunately I think I did something to my knee. It doesn't hurt while running, more when I'm walking and especially when I go up and down stairs. Ironically enough it started to hurt when I was doing my physical therapy exercises. I guess I need to see my sports med doc again... I just wanna run!

Anyway, I'm doing well. Counting the days until I start my CNA class so I finally have stuff to do during the day. I'm working on getting the house cleaned up. Saw the doctor on Friday and heard the baby's heartbeat again. I love that sound! I have the big ultrasound in 5 weeks and will likely find out what we're having. I have baby furniture on the brain but its too soon to start buying stuff. We don't have money for it or a place to put it yet.

Kelly, I skimmed your posts and I am SO impressed with your commitment to walking and also to the personal training, especially for that amount of money!! Thats amazing. How is your energy going? Maybe you've mentioned this, but are you working out every day? Or how often? Your lack of energy could be a sign that you are doing too much. Its good for the body to take one or two days off exercise each week. If you don't let your body rest and recover, you'll just keep running on empty, and thats a good way to get hurt. But maybe you are doing that, sorry I will try to pay better attention next time.

Shauna, your big day is almost here!! I hope you are taking some time to enjoy life right now, don't spend all that time being stressed! Good luck!

I hope everyone else here is doing well. I see there are lots of new people and still plenty of the older ones too. I promise I will start paying better attention and being a faithful poster again. I miss you girls!

WOOHOOO!!! UNDER 450!!! YES!!! 448.2! Pretty amazing since the last 2 days I've lived on skinny cow fudgesicles and popsicles!
For my points--well I lost 8 points--5 for not going to the gym and 3 for having more than 2 sodas a day--ice cold soda seemed to soothe my throat! BUT I DID rise to cyndi's challenge and followed each one with water, I drank a whole 16.9 oz bottle! (so I guess technically that's TWO waters!)
So my points are 17/25
Cyndi's challenge--add (or increase the time by at least 15 minutes) 2 sessions of cardio. Must be the vicodin--I'm being pretty nice!

Care, IF you followed them with water, you got the 2 point challenge from me and didn't lose any. GREAT job with weight loss and sticking iwth the challenge. Soda is horrible for teeth, too. So if you ahve to ahve it, following it with water should help. I use to drink a lot of it, I've switched though. My caffeine pretty much comes from ice tea. Ice tea/plain and/or ice water w/lemon.

So this week, I want you to watch ingredients. The same challenge that Kelley had to do, IF you use prepackaged/prepared foods and mixes, and IF sugar is first 3 ingredients, then you trade. Lose a soda, use the food. If you want to keep the soda, then don't use the food. IF you must have both, then stick with the water after the soda. The point is, to keep track of what you're eating for hidden stuff you might not be aware of so that it becomes habit.

I will TAKE your challenge, and I will step it up with cardio sessions. The tapes are a set length, so I will add onto my routine and do stupid gillian's tape also. Thank God I have the mp3 now, cause I really, really cannot stand to listen to her talk!! :) The gillian tape is half an hour.

Care,Kennys,Cyndi,Becky, and yes, even you Malibu... congrats to all of you on this weeks results. Care you did so good even with all your pain you pulled through, and it must feel great to be under that weightmark. I know I cant WAIT to get under 200finally, it seems like no matter WHAT I do, it never happens. I just sortof stay just above it. Its a conspiracy lol.

Where is everyone else? MsD,Liza, etc? And Katie I have just about given up on you although Im concerned and hope youre okay. Youve been absent from this room for so long now that I worry, please let us know youre alright.

LIZA did you read my last post, we are on for that 8miles in October so get movin!!! Startyour preparations lady!!!

Malibu you said you would be enjoying some cocktails this coming weekend, well then I look forward to your phonecall or message detailingeach moment, as well as your detailed Journal Entry in here about what exactlty you drank and how you cant control yourself and how much better I am than you. Remember, you can get ALL your points AND drink whatever the hell you want as long as you do all of the above.

Care, drinking soda through a straw helps too. It doesnt hit the teeth that way. Just a thought. My dentist alwways tells me to use a straw with diet coke if I have to drink it, but I have really cut down a lot. Just once a week or when Im in a restaurant now , I drink it, ora bar since I dont really drink alcohol much, so I always en dup ordering tons of diet cokes just to hang out wiht my friends who are drinking lol.

JESS - good to see you. I cant believe you still do all that running while pregnant, is that safe? Id imagine it is since youre doing it lol, I just keep picturing that little baby in there getting his or her workout lol. Funny. How are you feeling? to answer your question abotu my wokouts, what I have been doing is going to the gym 5x a week, so yes, I do take 2 days off. I rotate the workouts. I meet with Gil 2x per week (or I will be starting tuesday), and then 3x a week I do my own specific pool workout that he gave me. (walking 4 laps with weights, then stretch, 4 more, stretch, 4 more, stretch, 4more, stretch, then 3 sets of squats with weights against the wall, then jogging 4 laps ,then a few leg exercises using the kickboard. It takes about 45min total, then I sit in the hottube for 15min and leave.) So hopefulyl Im not overdoing it. He seems to think that 5x a week is perfect so Ill keep making that my goal for now. I think its just that my body is not used to all this working out, since generally Im super lazy lol. So its going to take it awhile to get used to it. Another month and hopefully ill be better as far as energy.

Ummm, yeah.

So, this past week, I kinda, um, how should I put it. . .forgot? ignored? No, that's not right. I just kinda pretended BL10 didn't exist.

So I got no points. And I gained a pound. Which means that anyway you cut it, Little Roo pretty much kicked my butt.

But no more. Seriously. I'm tired of letting Little Roo off each week. It ends today. Which is why I've got my gym bag by my side and a renewed commitment to finish off strong.

So LittleRoo, I don't know what your score is for week 4, but I promise you that I will trump you in Week 5. So sure, even, that I'm not going to bother with a two point goal. If you get your 23 points, then you'll get your two points. But if you get anything less than 23, you don't get your extra two.

So all you've got to do is keep your own goals.

I'll post results (which really should be called Standings, because it reflects where everyone is right now, rather than just the last week) tonight. Sorry I whiffed last week -- I had a lot of balls in the air. And if I made anyone giggle with that comment, let me say it again. . .I had a lot of balls in the air.

hee hee. It makes me giggle. Balls.

Later -

Carebear that's so exciting, I am very happy for you. I know how good it feels when you hit that first milestone.

Kelley, you are doing such a good job, you will be under 200 real soon.

I can't wait to see Tanis' Ode to Kelley.

Liza,you are so lucky.
why cant I have a partner like MsD... you know.. a SLACKER!!!! lol. Hehheh...
No. Instead I get stuck wiith Miss Perfect. Miss Terminator. Miss "I bike 20miles in my goddamn sleep and laugh and mock those below my enormous strength." lol. Miss "I think Ill take it easy tonight and only lift 400 pounds. Oh and I did a triathalon too. It was a light day for me." Okay, I think I made my point. lol. I want someone like MsD who I can mock endlessly for slacking off so much --- Liza take advantage!!! lol. You can sooo win this.

Oh, and yes, the Balls in the Air made me giggle. Twice.

And speaking of balls -- I forgot to tell you all that I told Gil about my Naked gym observations and he was dying laughing, then he told me that the Mens Locker Room is worse. He said that the old men in there , some of them, stand totally nude ,throw one leg atop a bench, and proceed to BLOWDRY their balls and cock. Yes, you read that right. Why? I have no idea, but he has seen this several times. They take a blowdryer to theball sac and their ass too. Freakinlovely!!!

I opened my comedy set Saturday at my students show with all the Nude Gym material and it got HUGE laughs. Tons of girls came up to me afterwards to say they also have this at their gym, so apparently Its not just me. It IS an epidemic.

Kelley, OMG, blowdrying the ball sac. eeewwww!!! Wow.

Congrats to ALL who are doing so wonderfully!!

My new recipes, vinegar chicken breast and a pineappleish red snapper. Those are for this week to try out. Last week I tried some simple chicken breast. Always good for low fat recipes. Pretty easy too. Picante sauce and chicken breast, how tough is that? And you can use a slow cooker if you want, dump them in frozen, turn it on, and dinner is done.

for veggies, I sautee red, green peppers, onions, a bit of lemon juice and portabellow mushrooms. DH always wants potatoes, but I'm weaning him onto other veggies slowly.

Cyndi,if your Dh wants potatoes, and who can blame him, potatoes RULE THE EARTH, a good way to make them so theyre not that fattening...cut up the little red ones, then add zucchini, red bellpepper, onion, whatever ....olive oil, pepper ,rosemary, and roast in the oven. I do this a lot and add more veggies than potato ....
