Best over the counter false eyelashes?

Hey Girls!

I really want to wear false eyelashes on my wedding day and I am practicing applying and wearing before hand. I have only tried Maybelline lashes but I just can't seem to get them to go on very well. Have any of you tried and succeeded with them? If so, what brand worked best for you? Thanks!

I know Sephora has a ton of them ... and some really unusual. I have a set that I got for free and I'm saving...they have silver in along with the black. They call them their snowflake eyelashes. But they have a lot of eyelashes that would make a drag queen swoon too (feathers, etc)

my hairstylist recommends eyelashes from Sally's. If you have a Sally's where you are (we have a ton here, but I dunno where all they're located, sorry), her favorites are the Demi Whispies. I'm not sure the actual BRAND name, but demi whispies is the style. There was another one she recommended, but it was just numbers, not a name, and now I can't remember the numbers.....

She convinced me to use them in my wedding, I wasn't so sure. So we tested them out in December the day of my company xmas party. I told my mom I was doing them and she was like "oh gosh they're gonna look fake and terrible. blah blah blah" And that night we were taking pics and she told me how pretty I looked and I said "thanks, I love these lashes" and she was like "WHAT?! THEY'RE FAKE?!" lol so, they're pretty, but still don't look to fake

I tried out the Sallies and will be using those. Everyone at work commented on how pretty my eyelashes were when I tried them. Had to fess up that they were fake and I was trying them for the wedding. Last thing I want is black circles under my eyes at the wedding, which naturally happens no matter what kind of mascara I use.

I can't say it enough.....SEPHORA! I tried Mac, I tried Wal-Mart, Sally's, and at least 5 others. Sephora was the only ones that looked amazing and stayed attached for 6+ hours.

Cutting the eyelash strips to size is one of the most important keys to applying false lashes easily. Without glue, lay the lash strip along your own lashes, lining the inner corner up to wear you'd like it to end. Then count how many extra sections of lashes on the strip extend out beyond the outer corner of your own lashes. Cut off that many sections from the outside end of the strip (where the hairs are longer).

Squeeze a thin, even line of glue along the band and with tweezers lay the strip down just above your lashes.Tap the band down into place and let dry. It does take a bit of practice so don't give up. Once the glue dries apply your mascara using the wand to blend your own lashes into the false ones so that it does not appear to be two rows from the side view.

Eyeliner pencil topped with dark eyeshadow in a matching shade is a good way to disguise the band.

My hair/make up stylist highly recommend individual lashes for weddings because she said if one lash falls off it doesn't look as bad as the whole piece of eyelash falls off or sticking out in the corner of your eye...I guess whatever it is, just make sure you have a really good glue and have your MOH or somebody bring that with you to your wedding because I see bride cried during ceremony and her lashes fell off half way..(opps). But yeah, I did my make-up trial and had individual lashes on and I LOVED them. :) Good luck!

I'm personally not a fan of individual lashes...that is just me though. For pageants, I would just buy them from rite aid/walmart. I would always by 44/45 (can't remember which number it was) or 110. As another poster mentioned, it needs to be cut down to fit your eye. I've never applied them myself, as my make up stylist always did it, but it's not that difficult.

IMO its not the lash thats the most important. Its the glue! Toss whatever glue that comes with your lashes and buy Duo adhesive. Its the best by FAR. Also a PP mentioned Demi Wispies, they are also a favorite of mine. The brand is Ardell. You should be able to get the glue and lashes at pretty much any beauty store. I know Ulta has them so I am sure Sallys and other places have them. If not, they are easily found online. They arent as expensive as MAC or Sephoras even! Also I would recommend going on to youtube and watching a view tutorials just to get some tips and tricks. (although they make it look so easy!)

I have tried Andrea Modlash from Walgreens, also do not use the glue they give you with the lashes, buy the Duo Adhesive(I buy it in dark tone).

Good luck!

As a makeup artist, I use Cherry eyelashes. That's who makes them. You can find them at any beauty supply store. The are cheap and GOOD!!! They look very natural too!
