yes he lives at home. no, i dont work but he does. and theres no way he could use his moms credit card. he has is own. he didnt tell his mom bout the enagement ring. she just figured out for her self. now let me ask u all this, would u want a mother n law that would be mean and rude to you all the time? i know i wouldn't. and hes tryin to be brave as possible. it just seems like she just doesnt wanna let go of her own son. chain needs to be broken. least my parents are lettin me get married.and there never ugly to my sweetheart. and if u all wanted to know his name, his names eric.

This is just my opinion but it's not up to his mom to let him go, it's up to your sweetheart to tell his mom what's up and that he wants to marry you and that's what he is going to do and to shut her mouth.

This is so weird. Okay. So he used his own money. He has his own job. She couldn't MAKE him do anything....so he just did it himself, even if she was an influence. Why doesn't he just get his own house? Then she couldn't do anything about it, right?
You say he's being as brave as he could be...but it doesn't sound like that to me. IF he were being so brave, he just wouldn't return the ring, he'd let you keep it, he'd marry you, and you'd live together happily ever after, yes?
Now my future mother-in-law loves me, but even when she doesn't act like it and she says mean things about me, my FH certainly stands up for me and does not allow it. Now, don't you think if he was being as brave as he could be he would stand up for you and not return the ring?

Brave=letting you keep ring Returning ring=cowardly....see the contradiction?

This is all more than just a little odd....

Texas- relax. Its okay. You certainly havent "caused anything" on here, except for some good reading. I think some of us are just slightly baffled by your story , thats all. Sounds like the two of you are in love and want to get married. So do it! As long as you can both provide for yourselves and each other and his mom isnt part of that equation, than it doesnt matter what she thinks, right? As far as the ring goes, I guess youll learn your lesson next time. Maybe you two can go shopping together and pick out something inexpensive that he can put on your finger immediatley so that horrible woman cant STEAL it again.

ive been busy these days, spending time with my sweetheart. he was on vac. and he just turned 33yrs old on april 7th. heres a pic i took of him. more to come.
