Hey girls! Its been about 2 weeks since Ive been here! Sorry! Ive been so busy! looks like y'all are doing great, plus some new faces! YAY!
I have done great the last 2 weeks...I lost 5 pounds since my starting weight so that makes me 137! YAY!!!! :) I would LOVE to be down to 130 by the end of the month(my short term goal!).

I am still using my pedometer and that works great because it gets me moving a lot more...I highly recommend getting one because even though you think your moving around a lot...most of the time you are not doing as much as you think you are.

I have stopped eating out as much and it has helped tremendously. I have more energy. Fast food makes me so sluggish and bloated.

My goal this month is to do the Jillian (from the biggest loser) 30 day shred(its a video) everyday or make sure I am walking 10000 steps a day if I do not do the video. If I dont do either then I am going to take something out of my diet the next day that I love. It gets me moving!!!!! hehe.

Well, I will be back soon to!

Hi Ladies!
Its almost the weekend!

Dawn-Thats awesome your WW meeting went great. I'm sorry you got discouraged because of the different scale readings but it looks like you've adjusted so you won't have that problem again. I always try to weigh myself at the same time everyday. Your weight can even fluctuate even if you drink a little water, so weighing at the same time every day really gives you a better idea of what you are losing. and don't worry , you'll be losing soon enough.

Lesley - Welcome Aboard! Great idea on the gym trainer. They will motivate you and get you toned up in no time!

Jessica - I found that you actually burn more calories when you walk fast on an incline, like a 5% incline. (I was bored one day so I started messing around with my treadmill) :P

MandJ - Welcome back! Congratulations on your weight loss!!! I've been telling myself to get one of those pedometers, I think I will get one this weekend. Good luck on your 30 day shred! Tell us how it is, I've heard it can be pretty hardcore!

I'm with you ladies on the weight gain thing. When I first met FH I was ALOT thinner, but he is an excellent cook and being a little too comfortable, I gained and gained. The good thing is ladies, we have niped this weight gain in the butt before it can get out of control! I too was visited by aunt flo this week and havn't been motivated to work out and last week was no different. However this weekend I have all to myself so I'm going to start it back up with my running and exercizing. I have still been weighing myself and I'm down to 133.5 (Damn that .5 is still there!) I figured I've been losing because I've really tried to watch what I've been eating and I've also been running around town a lot this week with errands and of course I'm swimming like a fish with all this water I'm downing....Ok this weekend, back on the workout track because I really need to tone some more. I hate that my weight accumlulates all on my thighs and hips!

Hi guys~

I went on Friday and met with trainer she totally kicked my butt! But it was great I am a little sore but not to much I am going agian tonight and Wednesday. Due to the way I have my kids every other week I am going to do 2 nights one week and 3 the next with her. I am also getting in my 30 min of walking a day :) at least. Over the weekend I did lots more. Our family has a big farm a couple of hours from where we live we go down ever weekend we are building a big family farm house for everyone to come back to anyway. I made fh walk all over with me twice on Saturday we walked for an hour the first time and about 45 minutes the second. I also shoveled out @ 20 ft of footers for the carport area my back is very sore. But it felt great to be doing something. I am so glad it is getting to be nice weather it helps me stay motivated too. And yea!!! for me I am getting in all my water and then some so far we'll see how this week goes since my visitor is gone. How is everyone else doing?

Hi Ladies!

I hope everyone is still doing good! This week can not get over fast enough! I haven't been able to exercise due to midterms! I have not lost any weight, but then again I haven't gained any either. Although I am surprised I haven't gained any because of the way I have been eating. Junk... arrgh... Today I had a crispy chicken sandwich that had 750 calories! I am reluctant to eat anything else today, but I don't wanna throw my blood sugar out of wack... I feel so guilty...

P.S. next week I want to lose 2 lbs. I need to start setting small goals for myself or I am afraid that I will give up on myself because "after all I'm not gaining any weight"... That is the wrong train of thought!!!

I'm with you Jessica. I havn't been motivated to exercize for the past week and a half. And I also havn't gained anything. But then I remind myself that I could be a few pounds lighter if I only would get my butt in gear and exercize. Tomorrow for sure, I'm going back on my routine!

Hello ladies. I've been engaged for about four months now, and I've been telling myself I'm going to start working out and cutting out junk food.... and about three days ago I finally started! My wedding isn't until 2012 so I've got a good bit of time to get in shape and stay that way. I was just reading through all your posts and can completely relate to the getting comfortable and lazy in a relationship thing (badbadbad). I've started low key.... any other time I've tried to get into a workout routine I start off too high/fast and then quickly lose all motivation.... I try to drag my fiance on a walk daily, about thirty minutes, and if our schedules don't match up I do a mile jog on my treadmill. I also was flipping through the tele and saw a belly dancing "class" or show, and I just sat there watching it for like five minutes and then decided it looked fun enough to give it a try. I really liked it... slow paced (yet my side stomach muscles are nice and sore) and my fiance really enjoys watching! I got on tvguide and printed up the next two weeks schedule of when "shimmy" is on. My fiance enjoys doing yoga, and we used to do it daily until laziness set in, so we are going to start that up again too! That's about it for the exercise =) I haven't gotten in any kind of healthy food eating yet, but working on that - not sure what I want to cut out or add in. I'm horrid with diets... but I have made an effort to eat breakfast in the morning to start off on the right foot and not hit the vending machines between classes!

As for stats I am 5'3 and I am pretty sure I weigh around 150, but I don't have a scale currently (any advice on where I can get an accurate cheap one?). I'm not entirely sure what is a healthy weight at my height, but because I am getting married in Hawaii I'd rather like to look good in a two piece on the beach!!!

I'm glad I found this thread, reading everybody's advances and even set backs is super helpful!

Courtney

Jessica~ don't give up!!! mid-terms are hard yes but they are over soon Stay positive think about how much better you feel when you work out. I know I have lots more energy. And one chicken sandwich doesn't ruin a diet. Hang in there girl you can do it.

Welcome Mrs. Bilos just getting up and starting is the first key. I can't get fh to work out either although when I joined the gym he said get the family plan so I can go. But I have been dragging him out to walk and tonight for 2 hours we raked and cleaned out flower beds. I figure any activity is better than sitting on the couch.

Come on ladies we can do this keep it up. On a side note I am so sore I can barely move it hurts to laugh my trainer worked me yesterday I go back tomorrow night and I confess I am trying to find any reason not to go!!! I just keep saying I can do this I want to do this I will look good and not like the fat a@@ mom of a 14 year old.

Welcome FutureMrsB, I am sure you will be able to shread the weight you need to by your wedding! Just gradually take things that are unhealthy out of your diet and add healthy choices. :)

Wow, seems like a lot of us are on the same page. I have stayed the same weight this week. I have ate so much junk and not really exercised much at all. Therefore my 30 day shred hasnt worked out much yet. I am determined to do it tomorrow monring. Its so hard to eat good when I eat with my FH. He eats so much and not very healthy. We talked about him working out more so it will modivate me more....so hopefully that will help soon! :)

hope everyone else is doing great!

It's 6pm my time and I am getting ready to go to the gym. I hate that I can barely move my legs from Monday's workout. As for updates I am getting my water in and trying to watch what I eat I have cut way back and included lots of fruit, and veggies. I will weigh again tonight and see where I'm at. I'm kinda scared I think it may have gone up and I have been working out and/or walking everyday. ughhh. My wedding is exactly 4 months from today. I sure hope I reach my goal of losing @ 20 lbs and toning up.
Hope you ladies have a great night.

I just wanted to shout out a welcome to FutureMrsB also! Kick that laziness to the curb, its time to feel better and look better! Try Target for your scale. Or even Bed bath and beyond, they have some in all sorts of price ranges. If you want something thats pretty right on, you might need to spend a little more. But check them out and see what works for you.

MandJ - You need to kick that junk food to the curb..LOL! I know how you feel eating with your FH, I'm the same way. I read a story, I think it was in Cosmo, but it said that we as women tend to eat more when we are around our BF's or FH's. Its because we feel comfortable around them and they eat more so of course we are going to be eating more too. We have to realize that they need a lot more food during the day for their bodies to function then we do. Gotta cut out those extra calories, because they are just going straight to your hips and butt!

MrsPJM - Don't worry if you do see that scale go up. You might be adding muscle and it weighs more then fat. You just have to stay positive and keep eating right. Go and get one of those fabric measuring tapes and start measuring your inches. Thats what we really need to shrink anyways :) And don't worry, you will lose your weight and look terrific on your wedding day.

Well I got back on track yesterday with my routine. Running and ball work. Fun fun. Did not do it today because I was busy and sore from yesterday. However I'm staying on track and will continue tomorrow :)

Check in my weight did not go up!! yea it didn't go down but it didn't go up! My trainer has measured me and we looking inches lost etc but to keep from getting disappointed we are only going to check it once a month not weekly. I am getting in lots and lots of water. And my skin is looking much better. I meet with trainer again next week. I still plan to hit the gym this weekend at least twice to get in some cardio. Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Thanks for the welcome =)

I've stuck to getting off my bum and exercising for a whole week now!! Got my fiancé to start the yoga with me and he is strict about doing it daily, so it is a comfort to know he'll make sure I do it with him. Yesterday my treadmill was giving me grief, it keeps beeping at me whenever I use it and I have no clue why. It was driving me so nuts that I only got in half a mile. I got out the manual and it says I am suppose to take out the key, turn the switch to off, and unplug... none of which I have been doing. So, I did all that and I haven't used it yet today but I am hoping that was the issue. It figures once I start using it again on a regular basis it goes bonky.

The added energy is a great motivation for me. Helps me get rid of that negative voice in my head saying I don't wanna go for a walk today. That and thinking about how much I really want to look great in my wedding dress! What does it for everybody else? Besides the great positive energy coming from this thread... always nice to see women in the same boat supporting each other and pushing each other to keep going.

I think everybody else is doing a great job getting back into their routines after a few lazy days! Don't let the negative voices in your head win, and let's all keep on trucking!

Some of you are getting super close to your wedding ... is the stress making it harder to keep working out or is it just pushing you harder to reach your goals? (Apologies for not knowing specifically whose weddings are coming close)

I hope everybody's weekend is and continues to be productive.
