The "You have to be kidding me" file...

OK.. I'm venting again.

Lee and I just found out that we are going to be blessed with a child. Does this throw a monkey wrench into things.. yes. But I've had 4 miscarriages.. and things look good so far.

Lee and I went over to his family to share the news. Mind you, they finally broke down and said that they would "help" pay for the ceremony if it was done in their church...

Well, my future MIL looked at me for a moment.. then obviously looked at my stomach..

"Well, maybe this isn't a good time for you to have a baby.. I mean with the wedding and all... I mean the child would be born out of wedlock.. why don't you see a doctor and have surgery.. and then have the wedding.. you can try again later..."

I can not post on this website what Lee said...

Needless to say they are not invited to the wedding------whenever it is...

OK.. I'm done... let the grilling begin...

Seriously?! You have had four miscarriages and she said that to you? Doesn't it occur to her that there may not be another chance? (sorry, but coming from a girl who is most likely infertile if I ever got pregnant at all no matter what the circumstances I would keep that baby)

Also, what kind of person thinks an abortion is a better moral choice than having a child out of wedlock? Especially if those people are going to be married anyway!

I hope you're not assuming we'll be grilling you. Goodness. It sounds like those people obviously have issues. I'm all for women's rights when it comes to their body, but having an abortion just because it's not the right time to have a baby is a little extreme. We're not in the dark ages anymore.

I am pro-choice, and that includes the choice to love and cherish the baby! To have an abortion so you're not pregnant, or just delivered, at the wedding .... ridiculous! Clearly, you want to welcome this little one into your family. OMG, what a grandmother bitch of a cow!

Congrats on being doubly blessed. Children are a blessing. When the day is going south real fast and you don't think you can take it any more, your child's laughs, giggles or just wide wonder at the world makes you realize why you are here.

Don't let a hypocritical sow, spoil your day. I really can't believe she wants you to get married in her church and at the same time "suggests" an abortion. I wonder what her Pastor, Minister or other Clergy member would have to say to her. Also if she is an example of the type of person who goes to her church, then why would you want to get married there?

Kudos to your FH for standing up for you. Obviously he is no momma's boy and has already made the seperation from his family of origin. Sounds to me like you've got a keeper there. I wish you all the best, especially at 3:00 am when you have no idea why the baby is crying. (lol)

I'm with you Howard! What a hypocritical BITCH! She wants you to get married in HER church??? What the hell do they preach there??? I hate to say it, but it's women like her who made me look on to organized religion with some SERIOUS doubt. It obviously hasn't worked for her.

I'm all about pro-choice too, but to suggest that particular course of action to another woman just so she isn't pregnant in her dress??? OH. MY. GOD.

Oh no! This has to be one of the worst stories that I've ever heard. Who says things like that?
