I've read/heard that a lot of women don't necessarily orgasm while having sex. I'm jealous of those who do everytime! Because when I actually do, it's AMAZING. But when I don't, other things can be done to solve the problems Smile

I'm also one of those women that don't have an orgasm everytime i have sex... i also get jealous of those women that do! And it's not that he isn't doing everything right (or that he's a minute man), I just don't sometimes. I think it's because I'm one of those women that get a "high" off direct stimulation to the clitoris and not necessarily penetration. I have gotten to the point where I really am ok with that, because in the end, i'm still satisfied (does that make sense?)

And DAS, I'm pulling for ya!

How important is sex in your relationship? After all, sex is central to a wonderful marriage. I don't think that sex is very important, but I like to have it as much as possible! We have gone through our fair share of "dry spells". But I think in general we are happier and sleep better when we do it more!

How often do you find time to make love to your husband/future husband? Do you have set night(s) of the week? We definitely do not have a schedule for sex. I feel like the excitement would be lost if we tried that. We also don't have set nights, we just do it whenever one of us makes a move. On average I would say 3-4 times a week. Or if we are having a good week, 7-8. FH has been working about 12 hour days and also going to school 2 days a week. He gets maybe 6 hours of sleep a night and is currently passed out on our couch! Poor guy. He works so hard!

Perhaps you're waiting until after your marriage for that big night!  What are you anticipating? Do you really want it now and don't want to wait? Hmm.... waiting really wasn't an option for us. Crap does that mean I can't wear white???

What are your biggest turn-ons? Turn-offs?  Turn-ons pretty much anything... I don't require a lot! Turn-offs I hate when he begs for "kisses" too. I don't ever beg him for my "kisses" just kidding... But lately I have been sooooo exhausted that I will be sitting in bed watching TV and the next thing I know it is 3 or 4 in the morning and I need to go to the bathroom or the dogs next door bark to wake me up. The last few weeks, this has been happening a lot! Maybe I just need to be more creative and start seducing him before I get into bed! That way I don't pass out!

Ok well since I have a son we don't get to do it as often as we'd like. When we first started having sex we did it multiple times each day... Now that we live together we don't get to do it that much. We still have sex about 5 times a week. Its always great and I have no complaints. We do it as often as possible and he is the biggest turn on... its as simple as that.

linda jo i would try therapy if i had insurance and could afford it...for a long time i thought it was a bad side effect from my bc. yes me and my man are married though...reading after what hillybride i think i may be experiencing those symptoms so i will definately talk to my doctor about it...my husband has become more patient and understanding of my problem...i guess theres just a lot of things that are putting so much stress on me right now that its hard to concentrate on sexy thoughts but i will keep trying...a little tmi i think this thread might be helping me a little b/c we were pretty initmate after we got home from church last night:)

Ok, so before I go back and read the whole thread (still on page one) I wanted to let you ladies know that if any of you have questions on HSDD or need someone to talk to about it, PLEASE feel free to PM me!

Statistically 43% of women have some form of HSDD. Though I've found in my research its more like 50%+ because of those who go undiagnosed or misdiagnosed.

Ashley: did you have the lack of drive even before his weight gain? I'm just wondering if the lack of drive has always happened and its just worse, or if it is just b/c of the weight gain of you FH and the stress that has caused you. If you've always had this issue, please read up on my post (on pg 1) on HSDD or google "lack of sex drive". I'm not a doctor, nor can I diagnose,  but its important (to me) to let all women know that if they are wondering why they don't feel like sex, etc that HSDD is out there! PM me if you have questions!

MrsZanks: Definately look up "lack of sex drive" or "sexual dysfunction" on google! There are lots of articles on what HSDD is and you can compare your symptoms / reasons for lack of sex drive with those for HSDD

Linda Jo: No, it never truely "goes away" but it can get better or go into, for lack of a better term....remission. There isn't drugs, per say, that would help this either. A lot of times HSDD is triggered by Depression, Anxiety, Stress or a mix of the above. Those conditions can be helped by medicines, which in turn could decrease the HSDD!! Google the same as I told above, if your interested in learning more!

Also, I can't remember who posted it, but changing BC CAN decrease sex drive. Its not a "normal" side effect, but it happens. In fact it happened to me! Normally it happens when you go from one hormone level to another. For me, I used to be on a tri-phasal (3 levels of hormones) pill. I spoke with my doctor about the lack of lack of sex drive and he put me on one hormone level per month, that helped a lot!!!

MrsWillams - I totally agree with everything you said. I'm the same way. And I've come to be ok with it. I still enjoy sex regardless of whether or not it happens. I can deal with that!

Hilly- I've always had a pretty non-existent sex drive and the stresses of life just pile on top of it... I really have to make a conscious effort to even be open to sex and even still it's not easy and not often.  My poor FH, I'm sure it makes him feel awful. I tell him that it's just because I don't have the drive to, but it's hard for him not to take that personally. =(

And speaking of FH...

I have another question for you ladies...

What really turns on your DH/FH? =)

I am really happy to read all of these posts ladies!!

My FH and I are waiting until the wedding, for personal reasons (situations from our pasts) and I am really happy to hear that some peoples sex drives don't die off. We are itching to be married for the sex, but trying not to rush it.

I know that my mom and I talk about this all the time and I know that her and my dad have more than a healthy sex life... ha.

But, I just wanted to say thanks for being open about this. Its great to read about ladies who are on both ends of the spectrum regarding sex... I don't have anyone else I can go to about this topic --I can go to my mom, but that just get awkward sometimes. Thanks again ladies. :)

It just happens when it happens. We try not to plan it but I’ve noticed that Sunday’s, we have the best sex.

Turn on: when he’s so sweet and soft then get’s really crazy

Turn off: when he’s being to macho or “animalistic” or whiny/begging

 what do you (or your spouse/boyfriend) do when you want some action?  

We usually start making out or I say “come here” lol

 Anything! Ha ha. He really goes after me when I’m changing clothes though.

I can't remember who posted about their bio clock ticking. I think tigerbride...maybe anyway.  I wondered if that had something to do with me also. I never had much of a sex drive as a teenager then I was with my ex so long. I'm not really sure.  But since I hit the ripe old age of 31 or so I have found I really really want it. 

Well whatever it is FH is happy Laughing and I am HAPPY with it Smile just the way it is. I get really bi***y if we go more than a day or so. It is usually at least once a day often even during  the early or late part of my cycle and most days it's twice a day. And we are both much more happy relaxed and connected. Bonus anything yucky about the day or bills or dealing with the ex seems to just go away when all is right in the bedroom, or kitchen, or truck, or couch.. Ok maybe I should stop I am at work and he is going to deer camp tonight.Frown  Good news I'll go up tomorrow night so we can hunt deer and dear over the weekend. LOL!!
