I predict that on Monday evening, Obama will buy 5 additional minutes of airtime - which he will use to dramatically remove his "mask" and reveal his true identity as - OPRAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hehe. And MisterKelley and I will be voting for Oprah/Obama.

I am voting for Obama/Biden! They have to win, there is no other option that will be okay.

Yes on Obama, no on 8.

Also, while some people may fear socialism for reasons y'all have already said, the people I know who don't want it just feel that 1) they don't like to be told they have to give their money to the government and 2) that in many cases individuals can do a better job of taking care of themselves than the government can, with the exception of such things as creating/maintaining armed forces, for example. That would be hard for an individual to do!

Prop 8 is the constitutional amendment proposition up in Cali to specify legally that marriage is between a man and a woman.

DH votes absentee in VA yesterday he had to wait for 3 hours!

Oh and the guy in front of him found out he was voting at the wrong place - after 3 HOURS!!!!

I just can NOT wait until this whole thing is over!  I am tried of all the political adds and the shameless attacks.  It is ramped here.  Plus my cell has been ringing off the hook from both sides for every local race possible.  The fastest way to not get my vote is to call me at all hours.  Plus I already voted!

I'm ready for it to be done too.  I haven't gotten the phone calls BUT I'm in Richmond and McCain has been MATCHING Obama $ for $ in Richmond on TV advertisements.  I don't know the last product advertisement I saw.

It is a tight race, am hoping that Obama will win and i sure hope he would bring the troops home soon.  I know they are fighting in honor of the country but there have been more lives loss since 9/11 than on 9/11. They need to come home to there families. I hope Obama brings them home.

Ok, I'll agree that McCain is old, but he's younger than Reagan was when he was elected, and think about how many people look back fondly at "Reaganomics" and the end of the Cold War (As to that, I have no comment, since I was all of four years old at the old of his presidency and had no clue what was going on beyond the sandbox).  But yeah, Palin as president?  Scary thought.  So I'm torn (still).  And has anybody else wondered about possible reprecussions if Obama wins?  I mean, from other countries, or even factions within our own?

And the Prop 8 thing just plain pisses me off!  I'm a Christian, and I hate it that the only Christians that are being super-outspoken on the issue are against it.  Personally, I don't see how the two are linked...there is such a thing as separation of Church and state.  And the argument that gay marriage will be taught it schools is ridiculous...for one thing, if it is brought up, it will only be a passing comment that gay marriage is legal, not a brain-washing that gay marriage is the only kind.  And secondly, there are a lot of things taught it schools that I don't necessarily agree with, but so what?  School should not be the only place where kids are taught.  People worried about children's morals should be more worried about talking to the kids themselves, and leading by example.   I think that the parents who are so for Prop 8 are just afraid that they might actually need to talk to their kids about uncomfortable issues.

Ok, sorry for that rant...I actually just had a "discussion" with sign wavers on a corner near my work...it ended with the woman telling me to F off and go to hell...guess I struck a nerve with the overly-righteous Christian mom who was recruiting her 5 year old son to help support something he didn't understand.

Well, just to be the devils advocate, Reagan already had signs of Alzheimers in his second term.  So Age IS an issue.  The only issue - No, but an issue for me - Yes.  When he testified during the Iran Contra Affairs that 'he couldn't remember' - ironically enough I believe that.

And has anybody else wondered about possible reprecussions if Obama wins?  I mean, from other countries, or even factions within our own?

How do you mean?  Because he's half African American?

If so, then I think that the world at large is more accepting.  Do I think that someone will take a shot from in our country because they are prejudice - then I say it's highly probable, I so hope not, but I refuse to bow into that hate.

I definitely hope that Obama wins, but second to that, I hope that whoever wins it's a decisive victory.  We don't need any of this re-count bullcrap of years past.  I hate to think that the broken voting machine stuff out of Florida this year is foreshadowing for what we're going to see on Wednesday.  Just someone PLEASE have the dignity to bowout if they lose!

I'm voting Obama, so is FH.  I can't remember an election where I knew so few people who were voting republican!  My friends are usually split 50/50, but this time I can only think of one or two people who aren't voting democrat.

I wish I lived in CA so I could vote a big fat NO on prop 8!

I would certainly hope that the rest of the world is more accepting than certain parts of our own country, and I'm not necessarily saying that other countries would have an issue with Obama's race.  But there are a lot more racist factions in the US than we realize, and there are always terrorists who want to see America fail...I'm sure I'm being paranoid, but I could easily see terrorist groups from outside the US trying to help domestic terrorists, with the goal that America would self-destruct.

With all that said though, I definitely second the comment about refusing to bow to the hate...I was just wondering if the thought had occured to anyone else.
