Ohokay. Maybe thats where the confusion lies then. Ashley and Suezy won BOTH categories so thats why there were only two winners total. The time before that, we had three winners I think one for weight and two for points. Okay. Thanks Liza.

ANyone doing anything for Halloween? Thats one of those holidays where I always feel pressure to be doing something fun, yet we NEVER have plans. Too old for tirck or treat, noone ever has a good party, and what else is there to do? So this year, I am working a Halloween Wedding which Im happy about because I dont have to think about PLANS. Plus Ill be making money.

Whats your favorite Halloween Candy? We need a TOPIC in here to get things rolling. This room has died a slow death about 8 times in the past couple weeks.

I love the mini Nestle Crunch bars. For some reason they taste BETTER to me than the regular sized ones. Am I nuts? Alsolove 100 Grand Bars, Kit Kats, and Krackel.

DO NOT like those circus nut things. Gross. Hate candy corn. They are pointless and tastes like sand.

Sour Patch Kids = NewAmy Crack

The only candy I simply cannot resist if it's in front of me.  I will eat them until I literally bore ulcers into my cheeks and tongue.

I'm pretty good, though, about only buying candy for trick or treaters that FH don't like.  And then we send anything leftover with him to work.  Must...fit...into...dress...!

P.S. MsD, can't take credit for the split pea soup -- that was Mrs. HF.  In fact, split pea soup is on the Big Bad list for Atkins -- no idea why?

Hi Girls,

I have to announce that I didn't raid the bagels today at work!!  AND when we went out to dinner the other night I barely ate the bun on my grilled chicken sandwich!!  Little things but I am thinking before I put just anything good in my mouth.  Quite happy about that.  In fact tootsie rolls are mocking me right now and I am not listening!

Oh that reminds me of another candy hate. Tootsie Rolls. Gross. They look like tiny little pieces of individually wrapped poop, and they taste about as good too.

And Sour patch kids = Yuck. My mom loves all that kind of stuff too and I HATE it. Sour patch, gummy bears, licorice, swedish fish, etc etc. Hate all of it. Im more of a chocolate girl. I do enjoy those sugary things that are shaped like mini watermelon halves and come in orange, yellow, red, purple etc. Those are good. And chuckles are delightful as well. anything covered in sugar. Well almost anything.

MrsD I know how you feel, Im in a funk too. Dont know why really, just feeling super lazy and its a chain reaction Lazy, then I dont exercise, I eat more, etc.

Where in Jersey will you be? What part? Wish we could hang out.

We are doing the nyc tomorrow. Dinner at carmines at 8pm, then a Piano Bar and singalong type thing which I loooove. My cousins and their spouses are coming in from Massachusetts and staying in the city tomorrow night, just to hang out with US. Yay!!! Then when they leave Sunday, Dh and I will hopefully be celebrating our Anniversary somehow. I swear at this point Im happy with anyhing that doesnt involve us sitting home watching TV. He is soooo unromantic that I dont have high expectations AT ALL.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Ahoy BL8ies!

Hope everyone's having a great weekend.  My dress is being altered this weekend and my friend will be finishing it this afternoon.  I just love it. :-)  She informed me that I must get a bra that will get the girls up about 4 inches (sigh), so we're going bra shopping too.  FH and I saw Ben Folds last night; his last stop on the new CD tour.  Unfortunately, he played almost all the new stuff and I lost interest pretty quickly.  We were both tired so we actually left early.  It was a gorgeous night, though, and we were happy to get out and see Austin on a rockin' Saturday night.

So I'm posting for Week 2:

Weight:  178.0 (2 pound loss.  This is a big number for me, because I am FINALLY in the 170s, and have officially pushed past the 25-pound mark.  I've lost 26 pounds since Jan. 1st!)

Points:  18/25  (If you guessed that I lost 4 points for ONCE AGAIN not doing abs or pushups, you're right!  Arggghhh.)

I'm a weddin' craftin' fool this weekend.  Three weeks til the Big Day!  Good luck everybody on your weigh-ins, and GO TEAM NAMELESS!

NewAmy - congrats on the 2 pound loss and the 25 pound mark - that is WONDERFUL!!

My weight this morning was 146 even!  I believe that is a loss - not a big one but a loss is a loss right?!

have to post later about the points - happy monday!

Hey Everyone!

Amy - welcome to the 70's :D

Weighing in for the week

Weight: 178.5 - yes a 4 pound gain, sorry team Kick Ass, AF has kicked my ass (and I don't think the box of chocolates I ate Saturday helped much either)

Points: 12 - Didn't do so hot in the points either, but it's better than week 1 :)

Goals for this week:

Drink 8 glasses of H2O/day at work - 5 points

Do my physio exercises every day - 7 points

Don't eat after 8pm weeknights - 5 points

Exercise 4 days/week, 20 minutes - 8 points

Take the stairs at work - 5 points

Just trying to keep the goals simple for a while, though I'm finding them hard enough as it is.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Okay, still in a funk.

My favorite Halloween candy is generally anything chocolate.  I have picked up a taste for swedish fish over the past year.  The candy store in my work building has the best chocolate, but they also have bins of candy and I occasionally go for the swedish stuff before a movie.

I was at Princeton University over the weekend for the Princeton/Harvard football game.  A friend of a friend invited us up for the weekend, and then afterwards we went to a birthday party where much drinking was done.  Which is principally how I totaly blew the two points for "keep alcohol under control" for the week.  Ended up with a massive hangover Sunday morning, so I, of course, ate greasy Chinese food.  I always crave Egg Foo Young after a night drinking.  Don't know why, because I find the idea of egg foo young pretty gross normally.

So I only got 4 points for the week, because I did manae to drink all my water mostly.  But I didn't get any excercise, and had A LOT of cupcakes.  Plus, I was fighting a head cold all week and it just sapped my energy to try and eat healthy.  And we didn't go to the grocery store.  Will try to do better this week, and I think I can.

No plans for Halloween.  Want to go out for a bit, just to people-watch, because it's fun to go downtown and see people/kids dressed up.

Good Morning everyone.

I have been in a funk too for over a week now.  Which makes me want to eat more, which adds to the funk.  Its a vicious cycle.

I am having a Pampered Chef party tonight, so I was cleaning my house all weekend.  I am sort of nervous because I invited people from my book group, who I have never had any interaction with outside of book group and I think 4 of them are coming.  Plus one of DH's friend's wives is coming.  I don't know her very well either.  Wish me luck.  :)

Well, I relost the 2.5 pounds I gained last week and I had 10 points.

Have a great day everyone!!

Hello!

Well my freaking computer at home is still not up and running.  I hate broken computers!  ERRR!

I didn't weigh myself this am.  But I got 19 points.

9/15 for getting some form of exercise every day. only managed 3 days.  Better than last week, but still not great.  I just can't get motivated!

5/5 for having only 1 glass of wine during the week.

5/5 for staying away from sweets during the week.

On a better note we had a fantastic weekend!  Went to a pumpkin carving party on Saturday.  FH siblings all came up to celebrate FSIL birthday.  We went wine tasting Sat before the party and ended the evening nice and wasted at FSIL house. (our lovely prego friend Leslie was a trooper and volunteered to be designate driver)  Good times.  I was nice and hung over most of the day yesterday, but I think the fun we had on Sat made it worth it!  At least I didn't get sick, which is what normally happens to me when I drink to much.

My favorite Halloween candy is candy corn.  I know, most people hate it.  But for some reason it's like crack to me!  Love the stuff.  I have avoided buying ANY so far.  Actually I haven't bought any Halloween candy yet.  Go me!  My other favorites are those tiny candy bars.  Snickers, Baby Ruth, pretty much any chocolate.

I usually don't give candy out to trick or treaters.  But I may end up doing that this year.  Usually I give out toys, last year I did play dough.

I'll try and check in tomorrow with my weight.  It's hard to do with not being able to get online at home though.  I really hope we can get the computer fixed this week!

The best love is the kind that awakens the soul and makes us reach for more, that plants a fire in our hearts and brings peace to our minds, and that's what you've given me. That's what I hope to give to you forever. ~The Notebook

I, too, am in a huge funk. It has a lot to do with my health, school, and my work situation, but I'd like to think I am usually better at handling this sort of stuff. Instead I just didn't go to school for 2 weeks and ate like a pig. Now I'm paying big time. Grr.

Anyway, I am weighing in at 146.0 with 11 points. 9 points for the 1/2 pound and 2 days I took my multivitamin. I think about taking it every morning when I take my other pill, but it makes me sick, so I wait until night time... well usually by the end of the day swallowing a foul-tasting horse pill is the last thing on my mind. So I need to remind myself better.

Ahhh school is making me crazy! But it is what I should be doing right now, so I'll catch you all later.

Today is my 2 yr Anniversary:) I posted an Anniversary thread over in Friends a couple days ago for MisterKelley and also NJfor Life who shares the same Ann. date as us. So if anyone feels like wishing them a Happy happy its there.

DH is working all day and Im working my homejob today, but when he gets home he is taking me for an 830pm Dinner Reservation down the street at this really nice restaurant where you can sit outside ona patio that overlooks the nyc skyline and water/Hudson River. Its a Crabhouse with seafood plus Steak and other stuff. Im excited to go, we are going to dress up a bit and just relax together and have a nice dinner. Our weekend was GREAT. My cousins came into NYC with their spouses Sat night to hang with us - there were 8 of us total. We went to Carmines Italian for Dinner, then went barhopping most of the night and walked around the city. It was a downpour but we still had FUN. Sunday morning we went to BbKings and had the All You Can Eat Buffet as we watched the Harlem Gospel Choir perform. SUCH FUN. MrsD I also had too many cupcakes. They just built a second location of Magnolia Bakery right next to Radio City on 6th Ave - a MUCH more convenient location for me. We walked right by it TWICE in the course of two days and of course stopped. I got 6 cupcakes for 4 of us and we sat by the waterfall and ate them. YUMMMMM. Needless to say I dont think I lost any weight this week, but Ill weigh in by tonight to find out for sure.

Here is a tiny slideshow of me and DH out with our cousins. We are all Italian and my cousin Nicky reminds me of a Mafid Boss, hence all the captions referring to him as Big V. Check em out if you like looking at pics. There are only a few:
