My maids of honor are my two sisters.  I love them more than anything and they will do anything I ask.  Almost.   I don't even have other bridesmaids because I've moved around so much the past few years I haven't gotten that close to anyone.

"Can I ask you something . . . ?"

OMG! WHERE THE HECK WAS I WHEN YOU STARTED THIS THREAD!

My MOH is my BFF and the little sister I always wanted. I do have 5 older sisters but they are so much older than me.. I basicly grew up "alone".  I was 29 yrs old and I met Renee' she was 16 and she had a 1 yr old son.  Something about her made me cling to her... we did everything together...She was young but yet mentally she was in her mid 20's I just can't explain it.  Anyway.. not long after meeting her, her mother who was only 4 years older than me passed away.. it was a horrible time for. She pussed everyone away..but me. Through out the first 2 years our friendship was up and down like any other realtionship. But the last 4 years have been the closest. She moved out of state for her own personal reasons and I really hated that she did that but she really had no choice.  But even though she is accross the USA, we are very very close.

Anyway! this woman who is now 25 yrs old, has been my patrner in crime (not litterally) and knows EVERYTHING about me. I mean EVERYTHING and has been there for me in every way shape and form.  She means just as much to me as my very own blood.

If I  had a glass to toast to her right now I would, so CHEERS to ALL the PEOPLE who were there and will be THERE in the future.! CHEERS!

My MOH is Genevieve (Gen).   She's a very caring person -- if a little on the paranoid side on political issues.  She's an accountant who feels like since she has to dress conservatively, she's going to wear odd socks (I usually try to send her weird socks for Christmas)

We met many years ago, on line, though a fandom for a tv series, and met in person for the first time in 2001.  Since then, I have gone to Seattle (where she lives), she has come to Montgomery (where I live) and we have gone to Hawaii together for vacations.  We got tatoos together.

She knows almost all my secrets and is extremely happy about me and my FH.  She says I sound happier now than I did.  I had two people I was really close to that I had a hard time choosing between, but I chose Gen because when we talk, we talk about things that both of us care about.  If I've had a bad day, she's there.  If she's had a bad day, I'm here.

She also said "It's your wedding, if you ask me to wear a gold lame sweater dress, that's what I'm wearing and I'm not going to complain about it"

Note: I have not asked anyone to wear a gold lame sweater dress <G>

My baby sister (who is only 2 years my junior but will always be my baby sister). I was so blessed to get a sister! She was my playmate growing up and is still one of my closest friends to this day. Never fought, never bickered. Always my friend.

And she has a great sense of humor. She already told me she does not do crinlin (sp) and hoop skirts.

PS: She is also singing at my wedding.

Good idea for a thread.  FH and I are having just person each in our wedding party. Oddly enough my MOH is a guy and the BM is a woman.  Its just the way it worked out and we didnt plan it that way.  My MOH is an Italian guy (Fabiano) and he lived in New Zealand here for a number of years.  We met in 2000 I think as we worked for the same company.  We became best freinds and to me my he is like my brother.  I don't have any siblings but I love him as if he were one.  We would tease people at parties, people would think we were an item but we would say we were brother/sister and make up stories about having the  same mother but different fathers.  We only found out about each other in our earliy twenties and he came from Italy to NZ and that we met and became really good friends - people always gush over the 'cool story', but it was just a 'story'  Smile.  Anyway he lives in Melbourne with his fiancee now so I iwill do most of the planning I imagine.  But I couldn't imagine not having him with me to share my day.  Fab being in another country hasn't affected our friendship but I sure miss him and the crazy fun we got up to.  His bride to be is a kiwi and from my home town (she is a darling) so I hope they move back here when they marry or look at a family.  As for FH I know the woman who will be his BM is his best friend and I awlays assumed he would choose her.  She is really cool so we are quite blessed to have such great friends.

 free happiness with every moment!

My Matron of Honor was Jenny, who is the wife of one of my good guy friends. We met while at college and hit it off. We've had many great times together and I was the maid of honor in her wedding.

My Maid of Honor was my best friend Lyndsey. We have known each other for 11 years and have had our good times and bad. We've ridden horses together forever and know everthing there is to know about each other.

I also had my two brothers stand up with me too. What can I say, they are my bros!!! I couldn't have imagined them anywhere else but by my side!!

My baby sister who will almost be fifteen is going to be my MOH.  I have two best friends who I love dearly, but I went with my sister because I couldn't choose, and one of my BFF's said I should just have my sis do it.  I love my BFF's, they are always there for me, but I'm very glad to have my sister be the MOH because it's something she's looking forward to and will always remember!

I totally missed this topic. My MOH has been my VERY best friend since we met in at 12 years old in the 7th grade. I've known this chick over half my life and she's like a true sister to me. I was also her matron in her September wedding. Sorry if these pics are huge, i gotta figure out how to resize them on this new brides.com

My MOH is my twin sister. We didn't always get along so well, but now we get along great. She is the person that I can go to when I need help with decisions (other than FH, of course) and I know she's going to give me a good answer. She's more up on the times compared to my mom, so she's a much better sounding board. And, obviously we've shared basically everything together. All the major milestones for me were also milestones for her, until now. She isn't married yet, but she has a lot of great ideas, and is a great listener. It took her a little while to get in the "wedding mood", but now that she got in it, it's been a lot of fun. I love her with all my heart. She literally is a part of me and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Awesome thread!

My MOH is my best friend since I was 9, Stacy. She has been there for me when no one else in the world has been. Stacy has seen it all the good, the bad and the crying :) I would not had made through high school without her and I love her sooooooo much! She is one of only two people in the world who have never let me down (the other is FH). She has been the best MOH so far, she is so scared of messing up since she has never really been in a wedding, but she rocks and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Unfortunately, I don't have any pics, but I have two maids of honor, my two BFFs Megan (ME-gan) and Moshea (MO-shay). Moshea and I have been friends since elementary and Moshea and I met in the seventh grade. Both of these ladies are my rocks...we've been through everything together. They are my HEART SISTERS! I'll get some pictures soon and share.
