My husband and I are both in the Army and currently deployed to Iraq. We got married at the court house and are planning on having the "real" wedding when we get back. We will have been married over two years by then. My question is, how should the invitations read? Should it be the ceremony for "Damien and Anastasia Halbert," "Damien Halbert and Anastasia Fekete," or "Damien Halbert and Anastasia Fekete Halbert"? I occasionally use my maiden name with my married name. I'm very traditional when it comes to weddings and want to make sure the invites are done right.
I know people will say that technically your ceremony is a "vow renewal" and therefore you should do everything differently, but I believe that you can do it anyway you want to do it. If you want this to be like a real wedding then use your maiden name. Everyone knows you're married, I assume, but no one says you can't wind back time and do your wedding the way you would have wanted to do it if you had had time. :)
