Sorting Invitations Before Mailing?

I don't remember if I heard this somewhere, or if it's just an old fashioned thing, but I just wanted to find out if I need to sort my invitations by zip code or whatever before brining them to the post office. Thanks.

No, you don't need to sort by zip code....but I would let a postal worker take a look at the actual piece of mail and weigh it.  They will sometimes have to charge extra for heavy items or those that need to be hand-processed so that they don't get ruined by the machinery.  My invitations had a metal embellishment that required it to be hand-posted so that the metal didn't tear the envelope if it went through the machine poster.

At my post office they have two boxes. One is in town mail and the other is out of town mail. So basically everything in your zip code goes in town and everything else is out of town. Hope that helps.
