I spent all of $30 on my veil including shipping. It was a very plain knee-length veil from www.wedding-veil.com. I ordered it thinking I would be getting it in a couple of weeks and it arrived in a day and a half! But that entirely depends on where you are in relation to the warehouse and stuff.
Ladies!!! Thank you so much for the ideas and info! I really didn't realize all the different ways about getting a veil, I figured bridal salon. Didn't even think about ebay!! I know I want fingertip, and I love the tip about only wearing it for 1/2 hour to an hour so how much would you want to spend for that long? Thanks!!
LINZz- you're veil is beautiful and how awesome your grandmother did that for you! I love gestures like that!
Thanks again ladies, I'm going to do some checking around!
I bought a McCall's pattern from Joann Fabrics for about $10. Then I bought material using a 50% off coupon. I chose to use organza instead of tulle. Add some thread and glue and a hair comb, and it was probably $25 or so. They're really easy to make, and there are patterns all over the internet. You can even add beading and edging and stuff with minimal sewing skills or even fabric glue. Nobody can tell, and you really only use it once.
