Well we booked our photopgraher last week and actually did decide to go with a videographer so that is booked too. We have everything else booked already, so not really sure what is next. I am looking into invitations now. I am also trying to think of unique things to do! FH always said he wants just one thing that will stand out, his cousin did a slide show that was a really good hit and everyone always still talks about it and everything, that could be a good idea. This might not be for you Chucksgrl since your from Philly lol but i wanted to share anyway just to give an idea. FH's other cousin's wedding we went to in June had terrible towels for wedding favors except they were white and said so and so's wedding towel and when the bridal party walked in they waved their towel and when the bride and groom came in everyone in the room waved their towel, the pictures looks great and everyone had a blast doing it, his family are huge steeler fans though.

one thing that I think is new is this thing called Flashbox, we just went to an open house at my reception place last week and they had it there. its a box with a microphone and a screen. you step up to the box and hit record and you can say things to the bride and groom and record anything you want for however long you want, then they make you a dvd with everyones messages and video's to you, i thought it was pretty neat.

anyone else have any ideas???

Well here are the couple of ideas I have that might be considered unique. We are having a photo booth at our reception which is becoming popular but I think still stands out. Also I read somewhere about a time capsule (sp?) where you ask your guests to write down one memory about the bride/groom/or both and you put it in a box that you take out and read on your 25th anniversay. Have each of your bridemaids walk down the isle holding there favorite flowers then have your bouquet have each of those flowers. Name each of your tables after a love song then have the dj play each song throughout the night and have him ask each table to all get up to dance when their song is played or number your tables and have each number have a picture of bride or groom at that age (example 16 a pic of the bride at her sweet 16 party).

We are also having an anniversary dance instead of the garter/bouquet toss.

he was a baseball player and I played softball through college so instead of a ring pillow we are having our ring bearer take the rings down the isle in a baseball glove

DCT09 - Congrats on booking your reception and ceremony sites. I felt like once I booked both of those as well as the photographer I had all of the big stuff out of the way.

Kev (my FH) and I are getting married on Oct. 10, 2009!

We've already got a deposit on the reception site and we are still looking for ceremony sites.   I've got my dress style picked but I don't have the dress itself picked out.  I have my matron of honor and my maids picked as well. Kev hasn't settled on a best man yet though.

Congrats Beguile42! We are wedding twins! Sounds like you are really getting underway with your planning. Has anyone else went dress shopping? I'm going September 19th for the first time and I'm starting to get excited although I wish I had lost more weight.

I have already bought my dress. I was going to wait not to lose weight but just to wait. My aunt and I went shopping and it was the second dress I tried on and fell in love with. I looked at a lot more before settling. This is just the dress I loved. So.

We're going with jewel tones but haven't picked any out yet :)   My matron and maids like amethyst though and I think we'll probably go with amethyst and emerald.  It's early though it could change

10/10/09 is pretty popular huh? We are getting married then as well! Beguile those colors sound great! Anyone else pick colors/have ideas? We are having a hard time deciding but know we want to stay with fall colors.

Welcome to the October 09 group!

I'm not limiting myself to just a few colors, I'm using all jewel tones and fall colors for my wedding. How far along in planning are you?

Like I said up there :) I haven't really decided on colors but I like the idea of the amethyst and emerald - reminds me of bunches of grapes.
