Sorry ladies...but I'm not going to be able to make it.  The funeral for my cousin will take place on that day.

I was so looking forward to seeing you all, but it will have to be some other time.

Awww Sorry to hear that Marisol. This is such a tough time for you and I was hoping we could at the very least help take your mind off things for a couple hours. Or talk. Whatever helps ya know?

Hoping a couple new people will see this and decide to join us. We have a reservation for 10 but I think only 6 or so confirmed thus far - so come with us people!!!

Sat Aug 9th 2pm - NYC Carmines.

Ok, ladies, I'm sorry to do this, but I can't make it on the 9th. My mom has her first fitting that day in Staten Island, and after the whole debacle with her gown I really feel I should be there. I don't want her having a panic attack and passing out.

Have a wonderful time! I can't wait to see pictures!

If you made it later, that would be SUPER! The appointment is 1pm, so I could get home and to the city in plenty of time for 4:00 or 4:30p.m.

Kelley and Bride2008 just asked me over on the Hate Thread, so they may already know, but I figured I'd post it again here. I can't make it. DH tore a ligament in his knee playing hockey about 10 days ago and we found out today that he'll need surgery on it. He's pretty bummed about that, since the doc didn't think so last week...but it was still very swollen when we went in last week, so the doc didn't get a perfect exam. He looked at it again today and the swelling had gone down enough for him to tell that it was TWO ligaments. If it was just the MCL like the doc originally thought, it would have healed on its own, but the ACL was torn as well and that one needs to be repaired surgically. We haven't scheduled it yet, but the doc is hoping to do it next week.

I'm totally bummed - and I just realized that it's all conflicting with my half-planned NYC trip, so now I'm MORE bummed! I'm also kind of worried that he'll be out from work for at least another 3 weeks...and his temp disability insurance only pays 60% of his salary, so I'm going to have to start calling up his student loan places to see if surgery qualifies him for a forbearance, because I don't think I can pay all our bills on just my salary and 60% of his. Not to mention that his copay for a specialist visit is $30, which will really start adding up when he needs to go to physical therapy twice a week. Rarr...can you tell that I'm the one who handles the bills?

Hi Kelley--I'm from Hoboken and I really wish I could attend.  I recently moved to London (to be with my FH) so I won't be around but if you decide to have another shindig around the Xmas holidays, I'm so there.  Although I'll be married by then--am I still eligible?

BTW, Carmines UWS is a great choice.  Have fun ladies!  Please post some pics afterward.

So are we still on?!  I was planning on just going for the day but, if it has to be later I can stay overnight.  So, I'm flexible if it has to be later but, I really wanted to meet as many of you as possible.

Yes Yes Yes - we are still on!!! So why dont we change it from 2pm to 4pm and hopefully Bride2008 can make it up there by that time. I know at Carmines all the members of your party have to be there for them to seat you - so let me know if you think I should make it 4:30 or if 4pm is enough time for you to get from Staten Island to Manhatten.

Im headed out in a bit for a lunch appointment, but I will contact Carmines about the time change later today. Hopefully it wont be a problem.

So yes - still on for Saturday August 9th at 4 or 430pm, let me know which is better Bride.

Either one is fine, but if you want to play it safe and make it 4:30p.m. that might be a good idea.
