BirdLover -

I've heard that it can take 6 months after you get off the pill for your body to start to get back to normal.  I would start worrying then.  I know it's hard.

Good luck, sweetie.

I totally agree with you, birdlover.

"don't worry about it, it'll happen when it's mean to happen" I will scream...my body is scrweed up, I might not be ovulating...how am I not suppose to worry?

If one more person tells me about their abortion - right after I've talked about my stress TTC...I might punch them."

I am not married yet, nor am I planning on TTC anytime soon, but when I was 15 my doctors told me the chance of me ever having children are very slim so I am a bit worried about it when my FH and I do try to have children.

Everytime I hear about people getting abortions, it pisses me off. I get so mad and emotional because I know there are a lot of women out there who can't have kids, and there are people who are lucky enough to be able to and they decide to abort it rather than put it up for adoption.

Not to mention when I do tell people that  I sometimes worry that I can never carry a child they all tell me, "If it's meant to happen, it will happen... blah blah blah" I just get so annoyed I want to slap them. They obviously do not understand what it is like otherwise they would give better advice.

Well, here's an update on me.  I think i mentioned on the last page that I got a blood test to see if I was pregnant on Tuesday.

I just got the call back about fifteen minutes ago

.......aaaaanddd..........

I didn't give enough blood.  What?!?!?!?!  Argh, this is so frusterating!!!  They stuck me twice on Tuesday, I have two bruises on my arm, and I still didn't give enough?  Well, I guess it's better than a negative result, right?

I'm debating whether to go back and give more blood or to wait and do a urine test.  Is a blood test more accurate?

WHAT?!?!?

You did not give enough blood and it took them two days to figure that out??? I would be frustrated too, but like you said, it is still better than a negative result. think positive

Yes, blood tests are more accurate as far as I know. I would go back and have another blood test. AND make sure they take enough this time!! ;)

Yeah, they said that I was too dehydrated last time, so my veins were flatter than normal, meaning that they had trouble drawing it.  But I've never had trouble giving blood before, and I had been drinking water like normal (6-8 glasses a day - I know it's a little less than I'm supposed to, but I have to pee all the time!).  It's making me crazy.  And I have to pay for the damned test again.  Argh!

Wow, I feel like I'm the only one posting.  Well, i went back today, and they stuck me again - TWICE.  Ugh.  They had to do it twice Tuesday because they couldn't get a good vein, and I bruised.  Today, they tried one of those veins again (ouch) and it didn't work.  Then they decided that the best route was to try in my palm.  Double ouch.  Apparently, that skin is a lot more sensitive, and therefore, quite a bit more painful.  More than I expected.  But, they got a lot more blood, and apparently, I should hear back tomorrow.  So, once again, wish me luck!

Hi totbride,

I feel for you. I HATE needles and it is sooooo awful to be stuck in the palm. I kind of don't understand why YOU have to pay for the test again?? After all you could not know that you gave them not enough blood. It was their fault, that you had to repeat the test.

GOOD LUCK!!! :)

Hi ladies - hope it's ok if I join in!  I have the baby bug pretty bad.  I would LOVE to have a baby, but I know the time is not right for us yet.  DH is about a year and a half younger than me - none of his friends are married, heck most aren't even in a relationship!  He is still at the phase where he'd like to go do what he wants, whenever (of course checking in with me though).  Which is perfectly ok, I want him to ready when the time is right.

We also have goals financially we'd like to meet before TTC.  Also we'd like to take a trip somewhere - DH has never seen the ocean.  So in the meantime I am trying to concentrate on things to prepare for TTC.  I have joined a gym to lose weight and become healthier.  We are doing really well this year at eliminating debt and we are trying to plan out our trip.

I also like to spend a lot of time with my 6 month old nephew and we have a niece coming in September to keep me occupied.  I know it will happen when the time is right, but it's so hard for me not to get excited about it.

Totobride - I'm sorry to hear about your negative result.  I wish you the best of luck for next month!

I was just recently married. DH and I have a 3 year old daughter together, and I have got the baby bug bad! I love my daughter to peices, and I would love to have another child. My husband is starting school in September, so it's not the best timing for us to have a baby until he's finished and has a stable income. I think we're going to start trying to get pregnant in September so the baby comes about a month after he finishes school. I hope I'm able to conceive right away. My sister is pregnant and is due on Wednesday. I think being around my nephew will help me with my baby blues until I'm able to have another one of my own.

Best wishes to everyone else trying to conceive!

Hi all,

I'm new here, also TTC.

I too have been frustrated by the so-called advice of "not trying" or "planning something else". It totally doesn't work if you don't have regular cycles!

I went off the pill in Jan 2007, and since then have ovulated only a handful of times. I actually went on Clomid last fall, but due to work related stresses, both my DH and I decided to take a break from TTC till this summer.

The good news is I've been ovulating somewhat regularly since this past January, but of course, am still not pregnant

If it doesn't happen soon, I'm going to ask my doctor if I can go back on Clomid in June. We'll see how it goes.

It's nice to have a place to vent, especially since if I happen to mention it to family or friends, I get the same old tired "advice"

Anyway, good luck to everyone out there!

Back after a long sabbatical lol

Welcome to the thread Juice and MrsH!!

MrsH I am somewhat in the same boat as you, not with the exact same circumstances but it just isn't good timing for us to start TTC now so I am just trying to get things as stable and relaxed as possible for when we do start probably next year sometime.  Just trying to lose a little of the weight I've gained since the wedding and get healthier.  Also financially we are working to be almost completely debt free by the time we start trying.  So there's lots to do to keep me busy and I just got a new baby cousin (feels weird getting a cousin but my Aunt and Uncle were late parents)  Who is so adorable that he will keep me occupied til we have one of our own.  He also has two brothers one 5 and one coming up on 3 so I get to play with the full spectrum of kids and still hand them over to their parents when they go home which is nice for now (:

Sorry to hear about all the hassle for nothing Toto, {{{{hugs}}}} I hate needles too and I especially hate IVs on the back of the hand but have never dealt with the palm, that must hurt!!!  But you aren't an old maid or anything lol so you still have lots of time to keep trying and who knows maybe this month will go right!!!!  Hoping for all the best for you!!

That goes for all you ladies on here, I hope babies are on the way for all of you shortly (:

Where's Megan?  I hope things are going alright with you and DH and you are successfully getting to the bottom of whatever is bothering him.

Take Care all and hang in there!

SG

I am in the same boat as a lot of you are.  I am so ready to have a baby everyone around me is having babies.  I have always had really bad periods and I have endometriosis(sp).  The doctor to me last time that I need to have all the kids I am going to have by my mid twenties and I am already 22. My husband is not ready yet.  He says he wants to be finacially ready and everyone keeps telling him that you will never be finacially ready for a baby.  Hope I can talk him in to it soon.
