so when are you getting married?

and give a little description of what you already have planned.

OMG, i can't wait. it's only a little over a year away and i am so excited! Laughing

Hiiii My wedding is April 25, 2009 and I can't wait either. It's just getting closer and closer and I'm just getting more and more excited, it's crazy how fast time flies. Before I know it, it will be here already. So far I have the reception site and the church booked. I also have the photographer booked and know who I will be using for the limo and the dj just havent signed the contract yet. I also know which invites we'll be using and what the wedding favors will be. My biggest issue right now and for the past couple of months has been my dress. There's just so many to pick from, I know what I like and don't like and know the general style I want I just haven't found "the one" yet or anything close to it. And I cant pick the BM's dresses until I pick mine so arrrrggggg lol. So how much do you have done ballplayer? Am I ahead of the game or behind?  lol

Mine is April 13th. We have the colours picked out already... they have been chosen for a very long time. since he likes the Ravens(football) i decided to go with a light purple (because theirs is way too bold for me) like a lavander or something and silver.

We have the church and recption site picked out, we just need to meet with the pastor and finalize it.

we are still debating on a photographer, i want one he doesn't... i'll end up winning this one =] even if i do decide late (like i posted in another thread) my aunt does photography and knows many of the good photographers around here.

since we are have the wedding and reception in the same place i just need to arrange for transportation after the reception. i'm thinking i want an antique car (we're big car people)... i lnow his dad just got a 1950 something, maybe he will let us use that... i'm not sure yet.

and we're not going with a dj since neither of our families really dace so i was thinking a harp, violin, or something soft.... hiring them to play as we eat. i just need to find one in my area yet.

we are definitely decided on the favors. we are going with the oh-so-famous pillow mints and i believe heart shaped cookies. you can never go wrong with more food... lol.

the invites are still in the air, my sister and his cousin are very talented art wise and we were thinking of maybe have one or both of them design them for us. as for the save the date  cards (which i feel is neccessary for us since it is on a monday) we are going with a picture of us and words underneath like you would find at a Sam's Club photo center

i have been looking at dreses but still haven't been able to set a date to actualy go out to the places to try them on.

i have in my head exactly what i want the tuxes to look like and the BM dresses. i'm going to let the FG choose hers, since it is my little cousin and if she doesn't like it she will not wear it (she takes after me too much lol.). As for the mothers' dress (his and mine) i have absolutely no clue.

wow, i am getting more excited just talking about it. lol. it's going to be a longg... year lol.

and if you are behind the game i would hate to know what i am. as for my opinion i would like to say that we are pretty far ahead of it.

Hey ladies!

My wedding is planned for April 25, 2009! We have only a few things decided--like the colors--pale pink and egg shell blue, our accent colors are chocolate brown and beige. Our theme is country/western. No camo though! Country chic!

We have the bridal party figured out, we have the church booked--the reception area--all in my hometown and very secluded out in the country--blue skies, tall trees, and amazing views!

Our dress attire is going to be casual--my FH wants to have tan tuxedos, or just a business type suit. Nothing fancy! Cowboy hats and boots are encouraged!

I dont have my dress--but I have the style i want in mind--tea length for sure, and tulle or lace are a must! Possibly a cotton blend----I want something airy and light--so I can two-step the night away!

I plan on making everything for my wedding--centerpieces, invitations, bouqets, EVERYTHING! Im an art major and LOVE personalizing and crafting and just getting my hands messy and I cant wait to get start this summer!

I know how everything is going to go--its just a matter of putting it all together!

We want a very small, private wedding.

Oh and I dont have a ring!!! I know!!! Its not that important to me actually--I asked my FH to restore my old 66' mustang coupe in the backyard instead of buying me rock--but he said no! lol It needs too much work!!! :P

SO we have a lot to do!!! If anyone needs any help just ask me!! Ill try my best to you!!!

Congrats to you all!! :D

April 11, 2009 is the date. It's the Saturday before Easter, and if I become fully employeed as a teacher, I'll be on Spring Vacation!

I'm waiting for my dress to come in, and my mom is making a mantilla style veil for me. We've put rings on lay-a-way so we're not worried about them last minute. Plus, there was a sale, so we took advantage of that.

My dream is to get married at my alma mater's chapel, but they don't let you book before 6 months. I have to wait 'til October which is the only thing that makes me want to scream. The reception is between 2 places: Another local college that will be semi-underconstruction but priced right. OR a GREAT ballroom that is within reach of the budget if we cut a few things. Based on price alone, I want the college, but no one has gotten back to me to show me around and take my money...

DJ/Photographer/Videographer are up in the air. I don't care if we have a limo, but he wants one. I'd be happy riding to the reception in my car with tin cans tied to the back...

April 11, 2009 is the big day!

My wedding is April 12th, 2009! I know its on Easter but thats what I want. Do you think the Preacher will Let us? We are Baptist and the Preacher has kids. I think that would be the only problem. But I have the place picked out but have not booked it whats great about it is that I can have the wedding and reception there. I have my dress, veil, headpiece, garter, some decoration and my bouquet. i got that at hobby lobby i just hope it will look the same lol Oh and we have half of the invatations that you print out your self. i know i know but hobby lobby had a bridal sale and I have to cut back somewhere sence the dress and the reception place is so expensive. the colors are red white and i guess green sence the center picese are green. But What I Hate The Most is when you are thalking about your wedding to friends or family but when they find out the date they are like well its over a year away so we dont care right now.

i like that... the whole country thing, ours is out in the middle of nowhere too. but i really like how you tied it all in like the cowboy hats n all.... it sounds real nice.

BTW, i love the old mustangs. '66 isn't bad i love a select few only ones from between '66 and '69. but other than me we aren't a big ford family. what colour is it?

i hope that i get to leave the reception in a nice old car. that is what i really reall want.

we have ours planned for the 13th also. i didn't really realize that it was Easter until you said that... geeze, i hope that's not a problem. we meet with the pastor this tuesday. i'm getting excited and i just hope that it is not a  problem being easter and all... i would really hate to push it back anymore...

we want it to be on a 13th because we started dating on Dec 13th but we also want it to be somewhat nice out not too hot and not too cold.

i really really hope Easter won't be a problem...

your alma mater is an amazing idea. we were going to try to get married on our alma maters football field (since he played footbal and we both love it soo... much), i'm not quite sure why we ruled that one out... oh yea, i remember... we are going to have it at his grandma's church both the wedding and eception that way we don't need to worry about Good Ol' Mother Nature going against us.

My wedding is set for April 11, 2009.  We currently have our site for the ceremony and reception booked.  I have picked out my dress and I just bought two tiaras (yes I said two).  I still need to pick out BM dresses, for the wedding party I have picked.  Our colors are going to be red and white.  We've decided on a candy buffet and instead of giving out favors we're going to donate money to the Wild Animal Park.  I am making our bouquets with silk lilies and red and white wooden roses.  The centerpieces are going to be little pots of grass with animals peeking out and maybe a photo somewhere in there.  Umm...what else...the cake is going to be some type of jungly animal theme.  I'm so excited!  I can't wait to marry my baby!

The color of my mustang back in the day was "arcadian blue". Now its a mixture of this pretty blue and a great "rust" color lol.

The front fender is missing, we have new replacement for it--but when we took the old one off--we noticed a few kinks on the frame AND more rust! not a suprise!! so yes--its naked at the moment! but it does have a hood lol.

I think my FH was a smart guy for choosing NOT to fix this car!! Its gunna take a HUGE chunk of my wallet when its all said and done!!!

Thanks for liking the country idea! I have changed my mind sooo many times--but this is the only theme that felt comfortable and fun!!! :)

We want to drive away in an old car too! We will proably use my dad's old mustang--he has 65' fastback that he restored two years ago after having it stored for 20 years!!! Its gorgeous! Ill have to show you picks of it later!

My mother LOVES the year models you do. She has a rust bucket too that was actually given to her by someone in our town. It needs a LOT of work!! :)

I hope you get to leave the reception in an old car!! Maybe you can find some one in your area that has one--and wouldnt mind being a chauffeur for you and your groom!! :)

I love how you decided on your colors! My FH actually picked our colors (pale pink & baby blue), I kept changin them--and finally told him to just choose them!

I hope you get a photographer! Tell you FH you must have one! :)

I like the idea with your Save the dates! I actually found this idea that I think Im going to use!

II dont have my dress either--I dont know what im going to do about it!!! Im thinking about making it myself--but I also dont want the added stress either!!! :P

I'm another April 25th-er  ;)

I've bought my dress & booked the church for the ceremony.  We have TONS of ideas for the reception.  It's going to a brunch reception, we know that.  And we have fabulous ideas that we're going to use for the reception & favors.  I wish I could do them now, but it's a bit too early  ;) No DJ, and probably no band.  I think I'll just pipe music in.  There's really not going to be any dancing, so I was thinking we'll just play Nat King Cole's "When I Fall In Love" as our first dance & if anyone does want to (and is able to) dance, they can dance to that.  Otherwise, just soft music in the background.

A dear friend of mine is a professional photographer, so I'm going to use her.  I don't want a videographer.  Don't know if FH wants one, though.

We have our bridal party picked out.  Colors?  Well, my dress is ivory with dusty rose trim/accents.  I'm not sure what I want color wise for my MOH (we each only have 1 attendant).  I know I want to use soft pastels since it is spring, but I'm going to let her pick out the dress.

FH & I live in Las Vegas, but we're getting married in NY (backwards from the rest of the world, I know Wink)...That's where I'm originally from.  Most of my family is elderly & can't travel out here, so we're bringing the wedding to them  :)

It has been SUCH a blast looking at everything, getting ideas, actually getting the dress & so forth.  We're all having fun, and there is no pressure or bickering!!  :)
