UPS Rant

So, I'm really just venting here.....

I ordered a BM dress off of ebay...had it shipped to my house.  Ordered another one from a different seller the next day.  Fast forward three days, and UPS leaves the package somewhere outside and our dogs, plus the neighbor's dogs rip apart the first box....plastic garment bag....and the dress has holes all in the satin.  I called UPS, they put a note on the tracking number, were told to put it inside the house, thought it would be ok.  Got home last night.....same scene.

I JUST WANTED TO SCREAM.  How stupid can people be?  At least tell me that the driver can't or won't follow those instructions....don't just tell me that you'll take care of it.

The first seller is working very hard to get our money back, due to UPS's negligence.  The second says that I should have my packages sent to a PO box (which I don't have) so that the "creatures" around my home won't get to them.  The nerve of her!  I think she just doesn't want to take care of the situation.  Frown  I'm at my wit's end, and out a couple hundred bucks.  Cry

That really sucks... did you have shipping insurance?  UPS should really be held responsible; complain to them until they reimburse you for your purchases.

We had a similar problem a few years back.  My brother had sent his expensive bass guitar away to be repaired and they shipped it back to our house.  Well, no one was home when they delivered it, so the UPS man hid the box behind some bushes near our front door.  Which probably would have been fine, but we almost never use that door... usually go in through the garage.  We found it probably a week later!  Fortunately it didn't rain and no one stole it.

Another time, I had some stuff sent to my house and they used DHL.  I was HOME... saw the van pull up.  But rather than come up and ring the bell or knock, the man just takes my package and puts it in the garage.  And he hid it behind some stuff.  It's a good thing I knew he dropped it off otherwise I never would have found it!!

It did have insurance, thankfully.  The other seller, (who I thought wasn't going to be helpful) contacted UPS, and they are supposed to call within two days.  I have to keep the box, plastic garment bag, and gown for five days, then we can assume I will receive a refund from UPS.  Lord, I hope they don't leave the check outside.........

Hopefully this situation gets cleared up. Stupid UPS you would think they would learn after the first mistake.

Just out of curiousity...Why arent the neighbors putting their dog up?  I would say something to the people who allowed their dogs to ruin my dresses.  After the 1st pkg, someone should have done something.

It's out in the country, there's not a lot you can do.  I also have dogs of my own who probably took part.  The UPS driver was specifically told to place the packages inside my door where the packages would not be damaged, or on our air conditioning unit so that they would not be damaged.  You are right.  Someone, UPS, should have done something.

UPS can be rather stupid. A few months back I bought a nice gift off of ebay for FH. UPS set it on top of the mailboxes in the lobby of my apartment building, instead of giving me a slip. And the box was stolen. I was so bumbed out because I couldn't get another.

Can I vent about UPS too?!  My FH has bad sleep apnea, so he as a CPAP machine.  Well he cracked his mask a month ago and 2 weeks ago FINALLY ordered a new one 'cause I couldn't take the whistling from it anymore!  It was supposed to be here TUESDAY!  It is now Thursday evening and still no freaking mask!  UPS won't help us find out where it is or anything because we don't have the tracking number.  (My FH didn't write it down when he ordered it over the phone--I could KILL him!) WTF!?
