Kona, Big Island Make-Up and Hair Stylist: Posted: Feb 9, 2008 1:25 AM; I'm getting married this August on the Big Island. I'm looking for local make-up and hair stylist near the Kohala Coast area (Kona side). Can anyone give me any referrals? I currently have an appointment with Shayla at Icicles, but I orginally wanted Shaloma. Any informaion you brides have out there would be much appreciated!!

Let me know if you need a referral for a photographer, videographer, minister, etc! Everyone we met was so wonderful and helped make our wedding very special. I'm so happy we got married on the Big Island!

We got married at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows, I got my hair/make-up done at the Paul Brown Salon & Spa at the Hapuna Beach Prince Resort. Paul Brown is very well known in Hawaii, he's got a nice boutique chain of salons on a few islands. I've gotten my hair/make-up done at a couple of their Oahu locations as well and have been consistently happy with their work.

You may want to check out the Hawaii message board on The Knot, lots of helpful girls there :) Just go to www.theknot.com then hit "Talk" then find "HI - All Areas" under "Local Boards"
