Those darn prices!!!
Posted: Nov 1, 2007 11:42 PM

Ok, so when we first got engaged my FH and I wanted to have our wedding at the beach (about 12 hours from home) but because of several issues we decided to have our wedding here in south west PA. When we were planning it for the beach we decided to have a beach theme (I wanted a fall theme but we thought that would look weird at the beach, even in October) and the invitations we were looking at were very reasonably priced. But now that were having it here, we decided to go with the fall theme (I love fall and all the beautiful colors). The problem is that I have only found one invitation that I really love but they're going to cost about $350!!! Why are fall themed wedding invitations so much more expensive?

They're not, you just have to look around more.  I looked at ummm I'm going to say a million invites.  Yeah I loved the $300-$400 ones, but I have better things for the wedding that need my money.  Good luck!

I wanted to get married at the beach untill I heard the crazy prices for that, and not everyone would be able to attend.

What does the invite look like?  Depending on how many you need, you may be able to replicate the one you love easily.  Send me a picture and I can see what I can come up with!

They're from Invitations By Dawn, and we would need 50. I absolutely love them and they match our theme perfectly!!! But they're going to cost between $300 and $350!

I saved $50-$100 just printing my responce cards myself, it'd be really easy since your invites are white.

But I still say look around order every catologe you can find and samples.  If you have time that is.

I had found the ones with the silver leaves, but that's the problem; They're silver. Our colors are orange/burnt orange and chocolate. I thought those invitations we're beautiful but I don't like that you can only get them as silver. I think what's going to happen is we're going to suck it up and buy those invitations by dawn but I'll make my own extra's (i.e. response cards, thankyou's, etc.)

Thank you everyone, you're ideas really helped.

I found a website the other day that has invitations you can purchase blank or printed-  www.impressinprint.com

untitledi1.jpg picture by nichole55_photos

This is a 5.5" x 8"  Ecru invitation, embellished with clear glitter, ecru envelope included

50 Blank $84.75      50 Printed $144.07

50 Blank $63.53   50 Printed $93.34

5.75" x 8.75"

50 Blank $55.00      50 Printed $87.12

You should look around online some more and try some different catalogs,  I'm sure you'll be able to find another option that you like just as much as the invitation by dawn.  GOOD LUCK!!

Check out www.weddingsnspice.com

She can customize something for you, probably very similar to the one you like, in your colors for much cheaper.
