Favors!

Hello all!

Our wedding is getting closer and closer, and as much as everything is starting to all come together, the realization of all that is left to do is really starting to set in....

Anyways! Several months ago I ordered some plantable paper to make wedding favors out of, we are having our Ceremony in a garden so I thought these would be very appropiate - the problem now, is that I cannnot decide how to turn this plantable paper into a favor!

If anyone has any creative ideas for this please let me know!!!!

.......38 days until I am a Married woman!

Is the paper foldable? If so, it would be really cute to make origami flowers out of it for your favors. Depending on how many guests you have, it might take a while, but get a couple bottles of wine, rent some movies and have your BMs help!

Whatever you do, make sure you somehow communicate to your guests that the paper is plantable! I've seen some cute verses like, 'plant these seeds and watch them bloom, like the love of the bride and groom.'

Thanks for you input! I don't really think I want to put that much effort into them however! ha! We are planning on about 130-150, so we will be making at least 150 of them.

I really like that verse! Very cute, I think I am going to use it!

Depending on the size of the paper; maybe you could fold each piece into small cones or envelopes that would hold birdseed for each guest. Then they could toss the birdseed when you and FH leave. Since you will be in a garden anyway, I'm sure our feathered-friends would appreciate the extra food! Laughing Either that, or maybe print a small poem on each piece for your guests thanking them for sharing in your special day! My daughter and FH are passing out such poems along with personalized M&M's for their favors! Good luck!

I thought about doing that and putting the paper in mini planting pots (they are really inexpensive) painted the color of our wedding.. the pots could also doube as their escort cards.

Love the verse!! Maybe you could tie it to the pots using twine.

I looked into the mini planting pots as well, and found the same thing - even though they are only like 50 cents a piece that starts to rack up! We are giving folding asian style fans to our guests with there programs as well for the ceremony so that is also one of the favors they will get....

I think what I am just going to do is stencil out hearts in the plantable paper, then tie it to cardstock with some twine like ribbon we bought, then attatch it with the verse and thanking everyone for coming - Ill post pictures as soon as we get one made!

My FH continues to keep saying, "We are buying them a meal, why do we have to get them expensive presants too?...." it seems that way with a lot of things though - we are the ones getting married, but we buy presants for everyone else, like the bridal pary and etc.....We better get some good presants back! haha :)

BritSig64Where did you find the folding asian style fans?  I'm looking into that as it may be warm on the wedding day, so it'd be great to leave them on the chairs.  How much did you buy the fans for?

For something simple, you could cut the paper into book-mark size peices and print your menu on it, and place them at each person's place setting. This would work best if you're having a seated dinner, but it would work with a buffet too to let people know what you are serving. To dress it up you could hole punch the top and tie a ribbon matching your wedding color to it.

Or instead of printing the menu, you could print a favorite quote, or just a thank you message to your guests.

Just an idea if you wanted something simple, since you have 150 to make, lol!

Ninabridetobe:

http://asianideas.com/paperfanwhite.html - those are the exact fanse that I ordered.... Only $4.50 for a pack of 10 white paper fans. They have other colors, styles, and fabrics as well.

I found these to be suprisingly cheap compared to others that I had found :) I just got mine a couple weeks ago, and I think that they are really good quality.

Let me know if you have any more questions :)

Is it printable?  Maybe you could come up with a nice poem or something, and have a little note saying, plant this poem to fill your garden with love/wedding wishes/etc." Something corny like that :)
