Hi!  I am planning on surprising my FH with a song as I am walking down the isle, and need ideas!  We are having a three piece band play as guests arrive and during the ceremony.  It's a Klezmer band, but they play every kind of music as well.  I don't know any traditional Jewish songs, so I am looking for something esle.  What are you girls walking down the isle to?

An accoustic version of "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" by the Police played by a four piece band.  I'm so psyched.

I wanted to walk down the aisle to the Imperial March (Darth Vader’s theme song http://tools.wikimedia.de/~gmaxwell/jorbis/JOrbisPlayer.php?path=John+Williams+The+Imperial+March+from+The+Empire+Strikes+Back.ogg&wiki=en) because I thought it would be really funny. But the place we are holding the ceremony at doesn’t allow prerecorded songs in the ceremony. So I’m walking down the aisle to a classical song that will be played on the piano, I’m not even sure what it’s called. I just really don’t like the traditional wedding march song. Nothing against the song it’s just not me.

How about "At Last" by Etta James?  We haven't decided what song we were going to walk down to, yet.

My stepmother walked down the aisle to "It Had To Be You".  It was really sweet.

Ask your ceremony musicians if they have any ideas.  What kind of atmosphere are you going for?  Sophisticated?  Whimsical?  What about Isn't She Lovely by Stevie Wonder?  "Just My Imagination" by the Temptations? "Lovin You" by Minni Ripperton?  I've heard of all those being done before.

Personally, I love the idea of taking your favorite up-tempo love song, then slowing it down for your walk down the aisle. For your guests, it's familiar, yet unexpected, and really feels unique to the bride.

Hello MsDenuniani,
Well, just to give you an idea of our personalities.. We are having both the ceremony & reception on the rooftop of a downtown penthouse.  It will be an evening shindig, and our reception music includes a Beatles cover band!  Our invite will be all formal looking, but at the bottom we are adding Reception to follow & Free beer!  We just like to have fun and don't take things so seriously..  I can't imagine walking down the isle to the 'wedding march'.  Thanks for the idea of taking an up-tempo song, and slowing it down!  I LOVE that!

My girls are walking to "Jessica's Theme" from The Man from Snowey River, and I'm walking to "Keeper of the stars" by Tracy Byrd. I knew right away that I didn't want to walk to the traditional bridal march, and it was my sweetie that chose this song, because it's one of OUR songs and fits us perfectly.

Instrumental (violin and piano) version of "Only Hope" from A Walk to Remember.  There's a long, funny story about us and that movie and I know that FI won't know whether to laugh or cry when he hears.

Well, I couldn't find anything that I liked, so I wrote my own!  Well sort of.  I did my own arrangement for flute and organ of "Elsa's Procession to the Cathedral," which has always been a favorite piece of mine and my dad's (he's a high school band director).  It's actually from the same opera as "Here Comes the Bride" (Lohengrin).  Here's a youtube link if anyone wants to listen.  I did make a cut in the middle because it's a bit long, and I will be using it for my bridesmaids and myself.

Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to walk down the aisle. Everything will be set to a piano, and my FH will enter to the Bond theme, the bridal party is walking in to the theme from The Mask of Zorro (the really sweet sounding piece normally done on violin) and I will walk in to the slow part in the Indiana Jones March, it's the section entitled Marion's Theme, it's slower and very sweet.  Right now we are thinking of walking out to either the Red Hot Chili Pepper's Under the Bridge (our song) or their Hard to Concentrate. I am a historian, so I'm so excited to be using the theme from a movie role model that I adored growing up!

I also walked down to "From this Moment On" by Shania Twain, but I used the duet version with Brian White. We had a very short aisle, so the entire bridal party walked down to the same song (guys included) and we faded it out when my dad and I got to the altar. It worked out perfectly!

I hope this explains it a little better....

Guys walked in to this part....

I do swear that I'll always be there. I'd give anything and everything
and I will always care. Through weakness and strength, happiness and
sorrow,  for better or worse, I will love you with every beat of my
heart.

Girls walked during this part....

From this moment life has begun
From this moment you are the one
Right beside you
Is where I belong
From this moment on

From this moment I have been blessed
I live only for your happiness
And for your love I'd give my last breath
From this moment on

My Dad and I walked in during this part....

I give my hand to you with all my heart
Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start
You and I will never be apart
My dreams came true because of you
