I love the street names idea that is really cool. We're have a really large wedding (250 ppl) so at first I was going to just do names but my mother suggested I do both so people aren't going from table to table to find theirs. I love what we're doing - my FH is a HUGE Red Sox fan (as I have become since we started dating a couple of years ago) - I mean he even has the Red Sox B on his shoulder!! So we're going to have each table as a different Red Sox theme. For example - The Green Monster and so on. I am thinking right now of having2 different frames on the table - a smaller one with the actual number and then a little bit bigger one with the Red Sox theme idea. Our centerpieces are smaller lanterns with rose petals sprinkled around them so we have the space. We are also going to have facts of how the different things we do became part of the Sox listed. I think it will give the people at the table something to do while waiting and it will be fun and interesting. I know it's not really formal but I want my FH to be just as happy as I am with our wedding and to be part of the planning (o:
I think names are more fun and interesting. We're getting married at the beach, so I'm probably going to name the tables after islands. We have kind of a seashell motif, so I thought about naming them after types of shells and putting that shell on the card, but some of the names are odd and I think most people won't know what the heck it means.
I also plan to have a chart next to the cards, so people can get an idea of where their table is.
I went to a wedding during the World Cup and the tables were named after the countries in the Round of 16, with mini flags from that country in the centerpiece.
