October Brides - anyone freaking at the to-do list?

Okay, ladies, I need help.  I feel like I am totally missing some things that I still need to do...and I think it would be fun to see what everyone has done/has yet to do.  So here I go... 

Done: My Dress

BM Dresses

FG Dresses

Officiant and Organist

Deposit for Country Club

Organized servers for first reception

Asked all of my people, sans possible FSIL because I am still hopeful they will break up (total witch, not the point)

Wrote my vows

Made almost all of the invites and will send out by next Monday

Have wedding license

Photographer

Hair and possibly Makeup people scheduled

Rehersal dinner stuff since we are doing it ourselves.

I know our decorating scheme and have bought about half of what we need.

Flowers ordered

MOB and possible FMIL know what they are wearing (hopefully not black for the FH's mom!)

 

To Do: Choose and reserve FH and all other Tuxes (eeek!)

FH has to finalize his people (still hasn't decided on BM, ushers, etc due to some really crappy comments by his brother that was going to be BM)

Order cakes

Finalize menu

Decided on Honeymoon

Received BM dresses and done alterations

My dress's alterations

Finalized music

Finalized program

Figured out sound system at CC since we aren't dancing so no dj/band

New engagement pictures since I just had jaw surgery and look a bit different (dad's photog, so not too worried about that one)

Found a veil, shoes, undergarmets, jewelry

Bought FH ring and my wedding band

Decided on Reception decor

FH vows aren't written

Decided on readings for ceremony, decided on sung v. instrumental song

Slideshow for before wedding not done

Gifts not purchased

 

Where is everyone else at?  I am 10/14/06!

hey sweety - RELAX! we have PLENTY of time!  (ok, not really, but this is what I keep saying to myself - lol  You and I have the same wedding date.) I am sooooooo excited!  I was married before (at 19 and widowed at 36), but my honey is going 'round for the first time. (At age 50!) Your list of "done" looks pretty good to me.  The tux thing is really not as big a deal as it seems - getting all your guys in there may be, but choosing will be fun.  (I made my fh model for me - lol)  I am growing and arranging all of my own flowers. (It seemed like such a good idea back at the beginning of May - EEK!) And I will be baking all of our cakes.  (We are having 9 regular sized cakes displayed on these really pretty stands - 5 cheesecakes (I am practically famous for my cheesecakes) and 4 traditional cakes - all decorated with MORE flowers - lol)  Your menu decision will be easy enough - order what YOU like - lol  (I say this because my fh said "Whatever you want" and then proceeded to CHANGE everything - lol)  Check with your venue - they may have sound techs available.  Even though you are not having dancing, you may want to consider intrumental only background music for your reception.  JAW SURGERY!?: You poor baby! You can get (tons!) of books from your local library and adapt traditional wedding vows to suit or just use them for guuidelines.  Call your local AVON rep - she can help you out with the gifts - they have lots of great things for guys and gals. 

MY DONES:  My clothing and jewelry (except my hair - I have NO IDEA there!), Both of my children's outfits,nephews, parents, grandparents, hostesses, hosts,readers, flowergirls, tech support, ushers, groomsmen and future inlaws all outfitted - only 2 of my 4 bridemaids have outfits so far, but we aren't doing the matchy-matchy thing so it'll be fine. (I keep telling myself it WILL be fine - lol) All of the church decor is silk and that is done.  (THANK YOU REPORTERBRIDE!! for the excellant ideas!)  The ceremony favors (sunflower seeds and bubbles) are ready to go and the reception favors (mix cds and "mint to bee' matchbooks) are almost there.  The rehearsal is all planned and ready to rock.  The Wedding music and musicians are all lined up.  (OH! I still have to contact my church deacon!) The reception is booked, the menu decided, dj lined up (my play list and do not play list are about ready), the children's reception favors are ready (we'll only have about a dozen little guests) most of the invitations are addressed and stamped and ready to go out next week and other than the marriage license and the guestbook, I think we are good to go.  I sure hope so. LOL

2 months to go and here's what needs to be done yet:

*Call florist a few weeks ahead of the wedding to remind them

*Darn caterer needs to send me the contract!!  It's annoying to keep calling her.

*Call the cake maker to remind her.

*Set up appointment with the hair stylist.

*Contact the local bar to verify it's OK to have an open tab for our wedding (we're planning on putting $500 towards the bar bill and give everyone wrist bands so the bar tenders know they get free drinks)

*Figure out lighting at the church.  We're having friends take our pictures and video, and the church lighting is dim.  I think I have that one figured out though.

*Get the candy for our favors (this is cool...we're going to get M&M and Skittles, as our initials are M & S)

*Get dress clothes for our kids (we have 5 between the both of us)

*Get marriage license (mid September)

**Ask again in about a month when we're all getting close to our wedding date...then we're probably going to be frantic!**

RB outfits

Decorations for ceremony and recption

Items for gift bags

Need to Do:

Get guys attire (FH JOB)

Finalize florist list

Get formal portraits

Get gown altered

Choose menu

Make quartet play list (FH Job)

Make DJ play list

Find Officiant

Make seating cards

send out invites

 

The lsit goes on and on.

Yeah. I'm freaked. 10/21 here.

 

I go tomorrow to finalize the RH dinner site. My mom is currently addressing all the invite envelopes - inner and outer. I have to put together the invites - hopefully this weekend. Mail them out next week is my plan.

 

I have to get some musicians for the ceremony and finalize everything else.

 

I'm really looking forward to my first shower though this Saturday! I can't believe it is already here. I can remember seeing posts from other gals about their showers and thinking "mine's never getting here!" I'll just be really happy when the invites go out. :)

I am starting to freak out! I still have a whole list of stuff to do. Our wedding is 10/20/06. I am moving at the beginning of October, my bachelorette party and birthday are on 10/14! I am having nightmares about wrong flowers, missing the rings at the ceremony and the other night my ring exploded in my dream! Weird....

10/14 wedding, TOTALLY FREAKED OUT.  I have zero weekends open until my wedding.  Which means I will be doing alot of work during the week which isn't idealistic.  I have soo much to do.  I am just hoping that my graphic artist BM finishes my invites this weekend so I can ship them out.

jsg - Yea for dorks named Jen getting married on 10/21! I haven't seen many people have that for their wedding date so I think it is way cool!
